Can't connet to ftp server.

I'm sure this question is already asked. But I can't go through hundreds of posts to find an answer so I hope someone here is willing to help me out.
The problem is; when I switched to CS6 my dreamweaver refused to connect to my server. I didn't change anything from the previius version, it's all the same.
But here is an image of the error I constantly get when I try to connect to my ftp server.
Still I used the same settings as before.
So what to do guys?

Can you connect to *any* server? Have you tried the Adobe TEST server?

  • IWeb can't communicate with FTP Server.

I am trying to update my IWeb and I get a Publish Error that says "There wa an error communicating with the FTP server.   Try again later, or check with your service provider.
I've tried again and I've checked my service provider who says everything is working on their end.
I have an IMac with Maverick.

Update:   the issue is not a connection with FTP server.......it has to be something in IWeb.
I have a website that I add photos to.    I Have always added them from Aperture on the right hand side of IWeb.   Now, when I add the photo to my page, it moves the other photos around as it has always done.    I try publishing and I get the error message.    When go go to the actual website I can see a blank space where the photo should have been published.
So it's sort of updating - but instead of the picture it shows a blank.

  • How can I use the FTP server on Oracle XML DB for plain text files?

    Hi,
I need to generate comma separated files for download via FTP. The files are generated from Oracle Table data and should be published on a FTP Server. Would it be able to use the FTP Server on Oracle XML DB?
    If not, any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Frederik Christensen

You can create a temporary CLOB with your CSV content, and then folder the CLOB into the XDB repository with DBMS_XDB.createRESOURCE()...
    This would work fine....

  • Can the inbuilt Mac FTP server be made secure?

Last night I followed a tutorial on how to set up your router and firewall so that the inbuilt FTP server can be accessed from outside computers (using Dynamic DNS). It appears though that FTP clients have to log in to the server using only plain un-secured FTP on port 21. Is there anyway to set the FTP server up so that it can accept secured connections?
    Thanks

The Finder only does regular ftp, sftp can be used in the Terminal though.

  • I can't access my FTP server from INSIDE my network

I've got a WRT54GS, with 3 hardwire clients, and two wireless clients.
I use Verizon DSL for internet access, using a ProLine DSL Modem, supplied by Verizon.
One of my PCs, with Fedora 9, has an ftp server on it.  when I try to ftp to the Fedora PC, from the Fedora PC, that works.  works great.  no problems signing in or anything like that.
But when I attempt to ftp to the Fedora PC from any of my other PCs, hardwired and else wise, I get the following message:
    C:\>ftp 192.168.2.104
    > ftp: connect :Unknown error number
    Has anyone seen this, help!

Try forwarding the ports for the FTP site on the router ....

  • Can't connect to FTPS server

    Hi,
I have problem with connection to FTPS servers. When I try to connect to my testing virtual server, i get:
GnuTLS error -15: An unexpected TLS packet was received.
I am using current Filezilla, server software is vsftpd from Debian Squeeze (last version there). I tried connecting to another server with Pure-ftpd (also from Squeeze), same error. I also tried lftp, same error.
I tried downgrading gnu-tls package to 3.0.4-2 and also downgrading filezilla to 3.5.2-1, still same error.
I do not even know what could cause such error. I tried googling but with no success (there were some errors with GnuTLS, they have been corrected). What could be the cause?

SFTP and FTPS are two different things...
    * FTP — File Transfer Protocol. Popular and fast way of moving files between a client and a server. The problem with FTP is that it’s not secured by encryption, leaving files at risk of being compromised during transport.
    * FTPS — File Transfer Protocol over SSL. FTPS is an encrypted flavor of the FTP protocol (kind of like how HTTPS is an encrypted flavor of HTTP).
    * SFTP — SSH File Transfer Protocol. SFTP uses the Secure Shell (ie: SSH) protocol to encrypt all file transfer communications. SFTP is a bit more firewall friendly because it uses only 1 port and it’s also a bit more secure than FTPS. SFTP is gaining steam as the most preferred method of secure file transfer, particularly in infrastructures that favor unix but SFTP is quickly gaining steam in Windows environments as well.

  • Can't Connet To My Server ?

After installing the update 10.5.6 on to my OS X Server i can't use ARD. After i reboot i can login initially after logging in i can't connect. I have tried enabling and disabling and using VNC which hasn't worked i have also tried google"ing" but that hasn't given me any answers.
    Help Help Help please.
    Thanks

Are you connecting over the LAN? if not it may be a port issue on your router so try seeing if ports 3283 and 5900 are open (problem ive just had)
You could log-onto your server via SSH and restart the service to see if that works:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2370
If not i think the latest server os is 10.5.7 and the latest client 3.3.2 so make sure there upto date.
And like the other post says - make sure Remote Managmement is on in Sys Prefs - Sharing

2:- I also follow same practice. I dont blindly mark all answers correct or helpful. It can waste other's time. Correct marking is very important. Hence my all question are not having close end.Few are still open for correct answers. I will happily mark them correct if you can help me in that.

  • One static IP can reach FTP server. Other static IP can't...

you are trying the same FTP client and the same user/password on both IP addresses?

Just thought i'd throw it out there, pick everyone's brain. Here is the base problem.
2 Static IP'sStatic IP #1 can't reach the FTP server, when you go to log in, either through IE or cmd it prompts for the un/pw and when you enter it in, it doesn't take, just cycles back and asks for the un/pw.. (yes, the un/pw is correct). Everything else works i.e. you can get to the internet and anything else. Just the FTP sever can't be accessed with static.
(This FTP server is a a remote FTP of a mutual customer)Static IP #2 is all good can access the FTP and its business as normal. We've TS with the support team for the FTP server and they claim all is good on their end. If static #1 can go everywhere else accept this FTP sever, then there has to be something on the FTP servers end, right? I feel like i may be missing something, thought i'd throw...

  • How do I restrict access to the RT Series PXI Controller via its FTP server?

The RT Series PXI Controllers run an FTP server, so I can view files on the controller over the Internet wtih a Web browser. I can also download and upload files with a Web browser. How can I instruct the FTP server to give access only to specified, trustworthy FTP clients?

It is possible to "Lock" the controller from the Measurement and Automation Explorer program. The password you set when locking the controller (which prevents others from making configuration changes to the controller while running) is the same password that controls access to the FTP server. When the controller is unlocked, anyone who can access the PXI controller's IP can read, write, and delete files on the FTP server. When locked, anyone can read data from the FTP server, but only when logged in with the lock password will you have access to write or delete data.
For more information on locking your controller, see the user manual, MAX online help, or the following link.

  • Ftp to a local ftp server doesn't work for VIREX 7.7

Has anyone else experienced this and know of a work-around? I have mac 10.3.9 machines not connected to the internet and running Virex 7.7. I have them setup to access signature files I download to a local ftp server on our subnet. This works fine.
We've installed a couple of Tiger (10.4.4) machines and this setup for Virex does not work. It acts like it can't see the ftp server. When I use Terminal I can ftp to the ftp server and transfer files that way. Why doesn't Virex 7.7 successfully download signature files from the ftp server?
    Any suggestions?

I have been having the same problem. Our McAfee rep sent me a patch that apparently fixes the problem. Since McAfee issues DATs on Wednesdays, I ran the the e-update yesterday morning. It all seemed to run too quickly, but I checked the dates of the vscan files and they were correct. The files are:
    names.dat
    clean.dat
    scan.dat
They located in /usr/local/vscanx/ (hidden files - you can download "Wizzard" to show/hide files).
I believe you can download the patch at:

  • FTP server: PORT command not supported??

    Hi,
In a nutshell - we are trying to set up PASV -- PORT connection between a Tiger server (10.4.11) and another system (say it's a windows FTP server). Issuing a PORT command to a Tiger FTP server fails with this error:
    -> PORT 192,168,11,3,199,158
    <- 500 Invalid PORT command
I have done some research on the web and as far as I can see - this is just a feature that is disabled in Mac OS X ftp server.
What's strange is that "features" command states that PORT is supported.
Has anyone seen PORT command work for a Tiger Server ftp daemon?
Has anyone succeeded enabling this command on a Tiger server?
Can you recommend another FTP server that works well on a Tiger server?
    Thanks a million,
    Darius

Passive (PASV) and Port (PORT) mechanisms are orthagonal.
If you're working with PORT, then you're almost certainly trying to clear through one or more firewalls. And a firewall can also trigger the Illegal Port Command error for a PORT command.
(Though I don't see a PORT command in the Mac OS X ftp client. I've checked a couple of clients, and it isn't common to expose it.)
ftp is a mess. Insecure, difficult to configure, insecure, firewall unfriendly, insecure, and slow. And did I mention insecure?
(No, I'm not a big fan of ftp.)
    Some reading material:
    http://www.cert.org/techtips/ftp_portattacks.html
    http://www.slacksite.com/other/ftp.html
    http://cr.yp.to/ftp/security.html
As for a suggestion, chuck ftp and switch to sftp.

  • Can't connect to ftp on business catalyst

    hi,
I can't connect to ftp server, Im using file-zilla and I wrote my domain name for host name, I wrote my email address for user name when I acces to admin panel and I wrote my admin pass. but I can't connect. I guess I mistake somewhere.

    Hi,
I also have this same exact issue.
    In Dreamweaver CC......
I go to Site and Manage Sites.  I click the "Import Business Catalyst Site" button.  At this point, I am prompted for my Adobe Creative Cloud username and password (which happens to be the exact login and password I login to the Business Catalyst Administration Portal with).  I am then greeted with a list of my BC Sites.  I select the site I desire, select a directory to store my files, and the site is created.   I then try to connect to the FTP server and it is a no go.   I have tried the connection from 2 Different Windows 8.1 computers.
My settings in Dreamweaver CC are imported automatically.  I have also tried changing the wordsecuresystems.com to businesscatalyst.com and it does not work either.
    Connect Using: SFTP
    SFTP Address: mydomain.worldsecuresystems.com
    Username: mydomain.worldsecuresystems.com/[email protected]/dw
(Yes I have tried taking the "/dw" on the end out of the username)
Password: Same password I use to login to BC Administrator Console.
    Root Directory: /
    Web URL: http://mydomain.businesscatalyst.com/
Thank you for any help you can provide.
    Thanks,
    Eric

can anybody help me with this problem?

In your Network System Preferences, under Advanced, Proxies tab, is Passive mode selected? If it is, try toggling it off then on (or try it with it off).
Also, have you contacted the Cyberduck people to ask if they know about a problem?
Have you tried connecting from Terminal?
