Can't control Anything in Windows XP SP3 Pro

I just installed Windows XP on my new 2.66Ghz Mac Mini today.
It lo0ad to the XP desktop just fine but even after I load in the OS X Install DVD. The Window Shows up giving me my options.
Problem is, I can't control anything. The mouse won't get recognized nor the keyboard, so theres just no way I can choose the option to install the drivers. I tried 2 different USB optical mice & nothing. It's like the ports are dead. The only thing that responds is the power button which shuts it down.
Any idea how I can get the CD to automatically load up the drivers???

Apple keyboard and Logitech mouse but that wasn't the problem.
This was with the Server Mac Mini which didn't have BootCamp.
I took the bootcamp app from my iMac and transferred it over. My problem is that I didn't have any up to date drivers for this Mini as none are supplied for the server version.
For some reason, USB just wasn't working on the Driverless windows. Anything I plugged in never got any power or was recognized. Even If I had drivers Disc, I wouldn't be able to use it cause the MacBook Are SuperDrive Wasn't getting any juice to work.
Sadly I ended up returning it and got the regular Mini. Too bad the 500GB HD option on the regular Mini isn't a 7200 RPM drive because the performance is just anemic on these 5400 RPM Drives. I don't know why apple doesn't offer that drive in 7200RPM.
Completely Ridicules in Apples part not to include BootCamp and drivers, with the restocking fees ( MacConnection ), I'm almost at the cost of an iMac here

To an extent yes. You can't control the master volume, but tou can turn the volume up and down, up to the maximum set manually on your computer.

A far as I recall from when I did use XP the procedure was to install Firefox using an Admin account, preferably the Administrator account.
By doing that the Firefox installer would create Firefox within the programs directory. And each separate user account could then use Firefox. Importantly each user account has a Firefox profile and so have their own separate and individual bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache etc.
IIRC UAC was not available for XP. Permissions and what you could do would also differ; I seem to remember; depending on whether it was using FAT or NTFS. In some setups a knowledgeable admin account user could probably fully access any other account.

Can't do anything with Windows 7 Account

Hello, I have an old test account called Administrator, it is an administrator account and I can't seem to do anything with it, when I go to Control Panel and Manage Users there is no Delete Account button. I tried going to Start and typed netplwiz and
tried to remove the account their and it wont let me have access to, I even tried switching it from Administrator to Standard and it still won't let me have access to do that. I even tried it in safe mode. I was logged into the original administrator account
I always used, not in the one I was trying to delete.

You mentioned that you can't do anything with this old account, For this account, can you log into it? we can do a test to check whether this account has "real" admin privilege, try to open device manager, see if you are prompted a warnning message. or just
run lusrmgr.msc and view the user account list in your system.
Another situation is that the old account profile is corrupted, if you want to fix it, try this link:

And from your description, seems you want to delete it with another admin account but failed, could you please tell us the error message prompted when you delete? or check the Event viewer.

Can't browse anything in Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

Hi,
Need your help and expertise. Suddenly, i can't browse anything in my Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 with IIS7. I tried already three(3) different browsers (IE8, Firefox & Chrome). Before, i can browse (using IE8 & Firefox) both private (LAN) and public
(Internet) websites be it via ip address or domain name without any issues whatsoever. In fact, i can't even access the local http website (status in IIS7 is Started) my server is hosting.
The only problem occured just yesterday in my server was drive C: got disk full but i was still able to access via RDP the server and free up disk space of 80GB. I tried already to clear the browsser history,
disable the add-ons of IE8 and turn-off the firewall. I have NOT tried to reset IE8 settings, disable third-party
program or service and startup in msconfig as it require reboot of the server. I'm apprehensive
to do things i mentioned i have not tried since the server is up and running for 919 days and 17hours. It is why i tried other browsers that i even installed Chrome just to test and troubleshoot the browsing problem.

Mp3 opens in new window ... can I control SIZE of window?

I am opening both an mp3 in a new window \ and a Quicktime movie. Two separate links. But both come up as a Safari window quite large. They can be immediately resized of course, but it will be annoying for the visitor to have to do so. I want the window to be the size of the element, more or less ... the mp3 a control bar in a little box, and the Quicktime in a box the size of the Quicktime frame.
Is there a way to have this happen without writing html into the iWeb code after-the-fact. I'm trying to show the client how easy it is to do his own website changes on the road. Writing html ain't going to turn his crank.

E61i can NOT connect to PC/Windows.XP.SP3

I installed the newest PC suite v7.1.30.9.
I failed to connect my E61i to PC with CA-53 USB cable.
PC told that it didnot recognize the USB device, I tried the SUITE mode and Data Transfer mode, both didnot work.
Then I change it to another PC, it failed with the same error.

Uninstall pcsuite, then run the latest version of pcsuite cleaner. Disable temporarily firewall & anti-virus. Install pcsuite, but don't connect the usb cable until told to do so; it will take some time to initialize the drivers to recognized the pc.

Can I control the system output via Logic Pro?

I know how to record system output in Logic Pro (CH 13&14), but in order to do that, the tracks in Logic Pro must be muted to avoid feedback.
What I'm wondering is if I can control overall system output via a track/tracks in Logic Pro. I've got a Plextor PVR set up so that I can watch tv on my Mac, but when I connect my digital cable box to it the volume is down at around a faint -24 dB. I'd like to be able to boost the gain with Logic.

Can't upgrade Video Driver, Windows XP, MacBook Pro 17" '09

After I downloaded newer video drivers from NVIDIA's site, the installation stops in the beginning saying "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware."
It's the right hardware (GeForce 9600M GT) and driver (266.58). I've tried multiple driver versions (There have been many since the year+ old driver installed with bootcamp) and all have the same issue.
I've read that some laptop manufactures actually prevent users from updating their video drivers, and have tried work arounds such as those made by Mobility Modder.
What's the deal?

How to correct installer resetting minimum restriction to windows XP SP3 or later

I am using Labview 2009 and building executables and installers that go onto systems that use windows 2000 and Windows XP SP2 and below.
Whenever I build my installer package, I get a warning:
*** WARNING ***
Cannot enforce the requested minimum operating system restriction because the deployment engine only supports Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later. Resetting minimum restriction to Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later.
I did not previously have this issue, until I recently got a new computer (windows XP => Windows 7) and had to reinstall all of my Labiew and NI systems. Ever since this, I have not been able to run my installers and executables on anything below windows XP SP3.
How can I fix this?

I know it is easier said than done, but you do need to update your test systems. Computers are something that are (usually) very simple to update every 2-4 years.
In all fairness, sometimes it's the customer who applies the OS upgrade restriction. For instance, there may be some contracts that requre a recertification of a test station (and all of the software that is run on it) if anything is upgraded and they aren't willing to pay for it.
Of course, what happens then is that a piece of hardware finally breaks, that hardware has been obsolete for 20 years and any substitute hardware only has drivers for the last two operating system revisions, so you have to upgrade ANYway, but it's going to cost more money than if you did it in a controlled fashion because now you have a tester down and you are using it for your development instead of building a dev station to work all the bugs out.
