Can't convert with Itunes 9.1
I usually create things in wav format, and then once creating a CD, I convert the files to mp3 in itunes (by right clicking on the music, and clicking something like "convert to mp3"). I tried doing this today, and there is no such command. I looked all through the preferences tab, including the advanced tab where I believe it used to be, and nothing. I clicked on an mp3 to make sure that it did not switch the default to mp3 and would convert to wav, and still nothing.
Did they get rid of this ability on Itunes 9.1? If so, what program would you recommend for best quality?

I have windows 8 enterprise OS and iTunes ver. 10.5.0.142. I was upgrading my iPad to IOS 6.1.3. After finishing the upgrade my iPad Reboot and currently stucked-up in a plug-in screen and iTunes Logo. In short, I push the restore button then another pop-up message appear saying " The iPad software update server could not be contacted. I repeatedly reboot the iPad and open the iTunes still the same problem. I try also to uninstall the iTunes and installed the lower version but still the same problem, I even check the firewall if the ITunes was block or My privileges is administrator to run the iTunes or even reset my winsock but the problem still remain. Went on a Vegas trip on Sept
11th. My iPad worked fine
before getting on the plane. In the hotel about 48hrs later I opened my iPad it
read the message: “iPad is disabled,
connect to iTunes.”
To my knowledge myself, nor anyone else has tried to access my device or
entered the password incorrectly 3 or more times.
I started by updating my iTunes account on my computer to the latest version.
Then multiple times I attempted
the “Use recovery mode”
steps.
e.g.
1. Turn off your device and leave it off.
2. Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes.
3. Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB
cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes
screen.
I received the message on my computer saying “iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.”
I click the “Restore iPad” button.
During which time the progress bar on my computer’s iTunes
screen was moving very slowly and other times seemed like it wasn’t moving at
all. I would leave my two devices and attached by the cable and upon returning
I would find that the process would have ended before it had completed.
Initially I thought it was a connections issue because I was in remote
locations with slow internet servers. Since being home I have re-attempted the
process and have been able to fully complete the forced recovery but I will
receive a message saying:
“The iPad could not be restored. The disk you are attempting to use is full.
Removing files and emptying the recycle bin will free up additional space.”
What recycle bin is the message referring to? Obviously I CANNOT access any
data on the iPad itself. Just for the **** of it, I did empty my computers
recycle bin and re-attempted the forced recovery process but as I suspected it
did nothing for the iPad and I still received the same message: “The iPad
could not be restored. The disk you are attempting to …”

After iOS is installed you will be asked if you what to set it up as a new iPod or if you want to restore from a backup.
If you have a good backup you can restore that and you're good to go.
If you don't have a good backup, then you end up with a "clean" iPod.... -

iTunes has detected an iPod that appears to be corrupted. You may need to restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting the iPod.Sounds like your iPod is broken. Take it to Apple or someone else who repairs iPods and see if you can get it fixed, or get it replaced.

During recovery on iPhone 4 I got : The iPhone could not be restored. Un unknown error occurred ( 3004 ). Then - iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.Then I get error 3004 again. Latest iTunes and OS updates. I cant use the phone now. I did restart the destop,unplug the usb,...etc. Same iTune logo ,arrow and USB on the screen.THANK YOU SO MUCH,...!

It also happened to me. What I did was to put my USB connector at the back of my PC (the main USB port) then I open my iTunes again and Viola, it solves my problem.

my ipad is disabled and it said ipad is disabled connect to itunes but i connected it and was restoreing it and then there was a popup and it said itunes cannot connect to ipad because it is locked with a passcode. and you must enter the passcode on the ipad before it can be used with itunes. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.
