Can't copy and paste in QT7 Pro

When I try to copy a video for pasting into another I do this:
Select All in one video
Copy
Click on the second video and take playhead to the start
Paste
All I get is a blip telling me it can't paste. What has happened is that the Copy didn't work. However, if I have copied to the Clipboard in another application, what is on the clipboard is pasted into the second video. Amazing stuff. I'll get text or pictures inside the second video. I'm impressed that I can do that (didn't know I could), but that's not what I want.
Any clues as to why I can't copy from QT7 Pro? How can I fix it?
I'm running 10.6.8 and QT 7.6.6 Pro.

I can't copy and paste anymore after installing 64bit software on 32bit system

I've installed an trial version of Adobe Indesign on my MacBook pro (Max OS X 10.5.8). I noticed that the programm could not be installed because it is an 64 bit version. Sadly I allready installed it and now I have a lot of problems. I can't copy and past files anymore. Also moving files from a folder to another folder is over. When I start applications most of them crash (Avid Media Composer, After Effects ect). When I open photoshop CS4.0 I get the following error: 'Could not import the clipboard because of a program error'.
Allso copy and past in Safary doesn't work anymore. I've tried to remove the com.apple.finder.plist file but dat doesn't work. When I reboot my mac and start up in safe mode the problems are still there.
Anybody an idea what to do?

Uninstall the incorrect version. It should have come with an uninstaller. Repair permissions, restart your computer, install the correct version, repair permissions and restart your computer again.

Can not copy and paste

I have the new retina display mac book pro.
I can not copy and paste anymore, using the shortcutes or teh two finger click to right click.

Start with the simple things. Log out and log back in, or reboot. Try again.

I can't copy and paste in Pages

I have a brand new MacBook Pro that I JUST got for Christmas. I downloaded Pages shortly after. However, all of a sudden I can't copy and paste between documents or even in the SAME document. I tried command+c and command+v and when I do that the Edit section lights up like it recognizes what I'm doing but it won't show up when I paste it. I also tried to do it by manually selecting copy and paste int he Edit section. I don't understand! Someone help me!

Quit/Close Pages
move Pages preferences file to the Desktop

CAUTION: to reach it under Lion, you must press the option key while triggering the Finder's menu [ Go ] to get the menu item "Library.
Restart Pages
If it behave well, the 'old' prefs file was corrupted.
The odd behavior may be linked to a problem with fonts.
Run : FontBook to scan your fonts to get rid of corrupted or conflicting fonts.

Photoshop CS3 & Outlook 2007 - Can't copy and Paste

I've recently converted to win7 and office 2007. Under vista and office 2003 I could select an embedded image in an email, copy it to the clipboard, and then do a file/new in photoshop and paste the image. Every since going to vista and office 2007, this will not work. I can select the image and copy it, but photoshop cannot paste it. The paste command remains greyed out.
I tried copy and past into Microsoft Paint and that works. I tried copy and paste in Paint Shop Pro XI and that works. I tried copy and paste from Paint Shop to photoshop and that works. I just can't copy and paste from outlook 2007 to photoshop.
Is this another "feature" from microsoft?

I just made a quick test with Outlook 2007 and Photoshop CS5 64 and 32 bit on Windows7 64 bit.
From the embedded images that I tried in Outlook there are 2 kinds of selections, one that works and another that doesn't. I'm not familiar at all with designing emails and don't even know what programs, scripting, programing, etc is used for creating and designing emails (I won't mind if someone enlightens me) but when I right click on a image and choose copy on some of the images appear selection handles similar to the transformation box in Photoshop and I can even move the handles in Outlook as if it is going to scale the images but it does nothing at the end. When I copy images with such selection handles they cannot be pasted in Photoshop where Paste menu is dimmed, but can be pasted in other programs like Microsoft Paint and even in other Adobe programs like Illustrator, Flash, and Dreamweaver, but not in InDesign where pasting produced an empty text box. Then if I copy the pasted image from any of these programs I can paste it without a problem in Photoshop.
Now here's the trick, copy and paste works from Outlook to Photoshop if the image doesn't show these slection handlles when I right click and choose copy, but when it does, if I select it in a different way, like a text by dragging between before and end of image to highlight it, then right clicking and choosing copy works without a problem when pasting it in Photoshop.
Have you tried reporting this issue to Adobe? I have made feature requests in the forum for that on this site but I have never reported bugs and don't know what are the channels. If it hasn't been reported, I think they will be interested to know this issue.

How can I copy and paste a caption for several pictures that are all the same?

I'm trying to understand the process of importing, labeling and organizing pictures I'm importing from my iPhone into iPhoto 11.
So far I am importing only pictures that relate to one another; ie taken at the same event. I have 18 pictures from one hike. I'd like to label each of those pictures the same; ie "hike at Bear Creak 2/15." Can I copy and paste the same label to all 18 pictures? How would I copy and paste?
There are lots of You Tube videos on the subject of iPhoto and that's how I learn best. If you know of a really basic one to watch I'd appreciate it.
I think I have to take a class at the Apple Store on this basic organizing because it's really escaped me in the 9 months I've had this Mac (switched from PC.)

select all 18 photos at once in iPhoto on your Mac and then use the menu entry "Photos > Batch Change"
That will change the titles or descriptions of all photos at once.

Bridge CS6 Mac XMP File Info Panel Bug: can't copy and paste metadata

The cmd-keys / shortcuts doesn't work in the xmp file info panel btw. in the xmp / iptc fields (e.g. cmd+c, cmd+v, ...) of Adobe Bridge CS6 (Mac OS 10.6.8 and 10.7.3). You are not able to cut and paste info from one box to another like previous versions.
This bug only appears in the xmp file info window (opened via alt+i) in Bridge CS6 - if you edit information or metadata in the file info panel in Photoshop CS6 copy and paste from one field to another works.
The shortcuts also work under Windows (tested under Vista).
I noticed this minor bug already one in the Photoshop CS6 Beta more than one months ago. I hoped that this was corrected in the official test version, but unfortunately it is not. Although it is a minor bug, it is IMHO a basic function and would be very helpful in my daily work - it is too bad, that such a small thing is making working with the application a little bit annoying.

That is a bug in Firefox.
You can set the Boolean pref dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled to false on the about:config page or alternatively hold down Ctrl+C keys until the translate selection disappears that text in the left input text area start flashing.

There are a range of different kinds of forms. For example, this site uses very simple controls that don't automatically convert Word's formatting to an online format. The site where you are trying to paste your resume probably works differently.
What methods have you tried using to paste? Typically one of these will work:
* Ctrl+v
* right-click > Paste
* Edit > Paste (from the menu)
Some sites offer their own buttons to paste, but for security/privacy reasons, Firefox usually disables those.

Yes, Thank you for using the term Place. You moved my focus off the clipboard, and Place set me back on course. Somewhere, the terms Copy and Paste need to be tagged to Place and Export.
