Can't Copy Image Into Textedit

This might be a coincidence but then maybe not... ever since I've installed MacOSX 8, I can no longer drag images or copy/paste images into TextEdit docs.
Is there a TextEdit section here?
Anyway,
Logging in as a different user does not help.
Trashing the TextEdit plist does not solve the problem...
Any ides on what could be preventing this? Thanks!

And 'deny network-outbound' messages. Sometimes I was dragging an image off a web page into a textedit to troubleshoot and sometimes from an image all ready on my computer.

Can I copy images from Album to Album

Can I "copy" images from Album to Album and then expect to be able to export that data into Keynote?
I put copy in quotes because I am such a new user I am not even sure at this point when I am copying or moving images as opposed to pointers.
But the bottom line is that I need to know if I can use the data in Albums that I see images in for a presentation.

Aperture 3 does have a few things that work in different ways than Ap2, but dragging images to albums is the same. Cut/copy has never been a feature. It works in a different way. Allan

Can't copy image from Adobe Reader into Adobe Illustrator

I am attempting to copy an image from a document in Adobe Reader 8 into Adobe Illustrator CS3. When I try this I get this message in Illustrator:
"Quicktime^TM and a decompressor are needed to see this picture."
I am running OSX 10.5.2, with Quicktime Player 7.4.1. I just purchased and registered Quicktime Pro but that has not helped.
What I am trying to do is use the image select tool in Reader to select an illustration out of a long PDF document so just opening the PDF in Illustrator is not convenient, nor is extracting the image, saving it in another format and then importing it. Before I upgraded, I was running Illustrator 10 on MAC OS X10.3. I could use the image select tool in Adobe Reader to copy an image to the clipboard, and then paste that image into in Illustrator document. Very convenient. For some reason that no longer works with Illustrator CS3 and OS X 10.5.

I can do that, but it is for my purposes much more convenient to do what I used to be able to do: open a document in Reader, scroll down through the document to find the image I want, select only that image (not the entire page) and then paste it into an already-open Illustrator document. Now what I have to do is 1. use Reader to find the image in the document and note the page 2. Open that page of the document in Illustrator and then 3. copy that page into the illustrator document I am working on and 4. crop to just get the image.

Can't can't paste images into PS CS5

So this problem seems to have randomly popped up and I don't know the cause or how to fix it. I have lost the ability to paste bitmap images from external applications like web browsers, specifically Chrome, Firefox or IE. I am reading all over the place that people are having issues with copy/paste but there doesn't seem to be any definitive solutions or situations just like mine.
When I copy an image, now matter how (ctrl-v, right-click, copy image, Edit>Copy etc etc), i am not able to paste that image into an open photoshop document. Paste options are grayed out in Edit menu. Edit>Purge>Clipboard is grayed out. Ctrl-V does nothing at all. It's like photoshop isn't reading my computers clipboard. Format also does not seems to be an issue
Things seem to be fine with copying and pasting within Photoshop itself, and from other adobe apps like Illustrator CS5 to Photoshop CS5 works fine as well. I realize that I can save images to my file system and then open or place in Photoshop, but that's not my normal workflow and eats up time.
This is running in Windows 7 64-bit. Also tried clearing my preferences when opening Photoshop, and that didn't help at all. Also "Export Clipboard" is enabled in General Prefs.
I should also mention copy/paste from external applications into Photoshop CS3 is working just fine.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

yes, dived in deeply to the problems that other people were having and unfortunately they aren't quite like mine. seems to be more common to not be able to copy/paste between adobe programs. and the typical response has no solution and that is just some kind of unaddressed intermittent bug.
and yes, all plugins disabled. bummer.

Can't put image into the body of Yahoo Email.

Although easily done using I.E or Outlook, any attempt to paste an image into the body of a Yahoo Mail results in nothing happening when using Firefox. I do NOT want to use I.E.
This is a major problem. Attachments are no solution. In many industries, including mine, we like to send flyers as images or IN-LINE documents via email.
Will Firefox / Mozilla address this issue?

I have 2 FF windows open. One to view my picture and one with Yahoo mail. If I click and drag the picture into my Yahoo mail body, it works. Can't do copy/paste like in IE.

Since the 4.2 upgrade I can't paste an image in an email!
Anyone figure out why and or how to?

Holding or double tap doesn't work anymore and yes I am able to paste text. In the meantime I have discovered how to paste an image into an email reply.
I used to hold my finger on the image and copy it to the clipboard and then go to the email reply and paste it.
What I have discovered is if I copy the image to the clipboard by holding my finger on the image to get the copy option, that will not work when I try to paste the image to an email reply, but if I use the following method to copy the image it will work.
I open the saved images, tap the arrow in the upper right toolbar, tap the image I want to copy and then tap copy on the left side of the top toolbar, it will paste to the email reply.

Suddenly can't paste image into email?

As of a few days ago, I can no longer copy and paste an image into my email body. Was there some upgrade or did I accidentally hit some setting that I need to fix. Really strange?

OK, that was a bit odd.
Initially, it refused to drag-and-drop.
I tried copy-and-paste, which worked. I then repeated drag-and-drop, which worked now.
Insert via the menu also worked.
Are you copy-and-pasting directly into an empty message, or have you already started typing? Some users complain that toolbar functions are greyed out, but then those functions are greyed, deliberately, until there is some text to work with. I wonder if the cursor has to be at a defined insertion point for copy and paste to work. It may need a paragraph to anchor to, and a blank document may not offer a workable anchor point.
It's been mentioned that some aspects of the composition window have been changed; it was suggested that drag and drop of text was new (though I was under the impression it had been there forever! ;-) ) Such changes may affect other actions such as pasting from the clipboard.
So, in a roundabout way, I have to say the functionality is still there (or it is in my installation, at the least) but maybe the trigger conditions have changed.

Since installing Firefox 3.6.9, can't insert images into my email.

Last Thursday, Firefox updated my system to 3.6.9. My email goes through Network Solutions. Now I cannot insert an image into the body of my email. I can still attach an image file to the email, but not make it show up in the body of the text.

Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.
If it fails regardless, you can try changing the user agent like this:
#In the location bar at the top, type: '''about:config''' and hit Enter.
#In the filter at the top, copy/paste the following: '''general.useragent.override'''. This will display a blank page.
#Right click anywhere in the blank area and choose "New" and then "String". In the dialog box which appears, copy/paste '''general.useragent.override''' again and click OK. The dialog box will remain on screen, but you'll see that name appear above where it previously said "Enter Preference Name".

More generally, when you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these:
While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Can't drag images into new album page

Just started using iWeb because it seems easy to produce good looking basic pages. I may be missing something obvious, but having trawled all through this forum and iWeb help, I can't work out why the album page won't accept images dragged from the iPhoto tab of the media browser.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the prompt reply Mr Old Toad. In fact, despite the title of "Album Page" seeming to be self explanatory (usually the case with Mac software & why I love it so much) and the software instructions which say "Drag photo and movie pages here to make them accessible from one place", this time I have discovered by messing around that you have to add a "photos" page while the Album page is selected on the left. You then drag the required images into the photo page (not the album page). Each additional photo page added appears on the Album page as it is added.
One of the first methods I tried was to create an album in iPhoto and attempt to drag that into the album page. Didn't work, hence my request on this forum. So, looks like I answered my question myself. I still appreciate your diligent attention to this forum Mr Old Toad. I'm sure there will be a future problem that may not be so easily solved and that your or another's suggestion will come to the rescue.

Can't copy image/video from Nok 5800 XM to PC

Owh...i have no idea again....... i've tried many ways, but the files are failed to be copied, i've tried by using nok pc suite&mass storage mode to transfer them, but it's always failed. it seems that the files i copy are corrupted or uncompleted. let say,,,i want to copy image(400 KB), but the result in my PC is only 5 KB, so i can't open it. but when i copied files from other phone(nok 7610&N70),it's no problem, i can do it by pc suite or mass storage mode,,,,, Anyone can help me please...............

I can't upload images into CS6 due to a plugin error that hasn't occurred before.

As the title says, I keep getting an error when I try to upload an image into CS6. It hasn't done this before, and I don't know what to do. I've even tried opening my previous images I've used in works before in CS6 and they are all greyed out as well. I really need some help, any is appreciated. Thanks.

You can't open the image file in InDesign.
Go to File-->Place and place the image file in InDesign

Can't Copy Image URL on iPad in IOS 8

In iOS 7, I had the ability to copy image url and open it in a new tab in safari. I am very active on Internet forums and this was an extremely useful tool for posting gifs, saving direct image links, etc. Now when I click copy it literally copies the image, not the image url. I can paste the image or gif in a note/email, etc, but that's not what I want to do. I have the ability to copy image url/open image address in a new tab on my Mac, I need this functionality on my iPad as well. iOS 8 is really crippling my online use on my iPad.

You might check that the iPad is still using the same Apple ID for both FaceTime and iCloud as the iPhone that you are trying to make calls through. The iPhone and the iPad also must both be connected to the same wi-fi network.

I just uploaded Trial ai to try to transfer a jpg image into an AI . Can that be done with the trail version??

hi...sure can, im using the trial version at the moment too...all u need to do is open your jpg file and open a new illustrator doc, then drag and drop the jpg in...works for me...dont know if thats the technical way to do it...
