Can't copy pictures to a portable HDD

Hi,
I am trying to select multiple pictures to copy across to a portable HDD. It will let me copy single pics, but when I want to copy multiple pics it won't let me do it because it says 'MyPicture.jpg' is busy. Well, I have thrown that file into the trash and emptied it, but it still won't let me.
Any ideas?
Thx,
David

What format is the external HDD?
On a hunch, try this...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, when that completes...
Reset Launch Services...

Reboot.

Is there a step-by-step instruction guide I can find re how to so import photos through iTunes?
    For windows pc's Photo albums:
    1) Create a master sync folder on your pc with no photo files at the root level of the folder.
    2) Create sub-folders within the master sync folder with the subfolders named what you want the ipad's photo albums to be named.
    3) Place the photo files you want to sync in the appropriate subfolder within the master sync folder.
    4) In itunes on the photos tab, select the master folder as the sync folder.
    5) After syncing, each subfolder will be an album on the ipad with the proper photos contained there-in.

If they were taken with the iPad, simply plug in the iPad, and it should appear as a regular digital camera in Windows Explorer or in Control Panel/Devices and Printers.
You can then either use the Scanner and Camera Wizard, or simply open the DCIM folder and drag the pictures to which ever folder you want them in,

I know this is an older thread, but FWIW you should be able to open up My Computer in Windows, locate your memory card there, then either drag and drop and/or copy and paste images from your computer's hard drive onto the memory card.

How can I copy pictures from iphoto on a CD then play it on my blueray player on the TV?

You are attempting to do this in a very difficult manner. Why not simply get an AppleTV ($75 refurbished from Apple) and you can share all your iPhoto content on your TV. That would be much easier than exporting to a CD/DVD, loading it into a player and then playing from a DVD. Apple tells about setting up Home Sharing in http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4352.

  • Got new iMac, can't import iPhoto library from portable HDD

    Hi all,
I just bought a refurbished mid 2012 iMac.  I had kept my iPhoto library on a portable HDD.  When I tried to import the pictures I was first told the files needed to be updated for the new version of iPhoto.  It read it would take a few hours so I let it work overnight.  The next morning, none of the pictures were imported.  In iPhoto there looked like there were event boxes but no images in them.  Now the iPhoto file in my HDD is greyed out so it won't recognize it anymore.
Any ideas what to do.  Got 11 years worth of pictures on there and I don't want to have to pull out all those CDs and do the red eye correction and rotating.
    Mike

There's no importing involved in upgrading.

  • Can't copy pictures from NOKIA SUITE to my phone!!...

I cant'copy pictures from Nokia suite to my phone n8,
any ADVICE , i need help because i need those photos.

Simplest way is to connect in madd storage mode instead of pc suite mode via usb and drag and drop, the phone will show as an external hd in 'My Computer' simply open the drive and drag photos from computer to N8, drag and drop is by far the easiest and quickest way to transfer all media to a Symbian phone !

  • Can not copy pictures from my library to folders I created

I have a lot of pictures in my Library - I only have one Library - the default.
Now I want to organize many/not all of the pictures in my library to specific folders/labeled to match the pictures.
I created some new folders that are labeled - then are not sub folders under the Library.
What I do is --- while I'm in the Library, I click 1x on the picture, copy - then I click on the specific folder, paste. The picture does not appear in my folder.
Would someone tell me what I'm going wrong - how to copy pictures from my Library to specific folders ?
Also --- I do backup my Library to an external drive, when I eventually get pictures in specific folders in iPhoto --- I must now choose those specific folders to backup in addition to my Library ? I use the backup software from OS X 10.6.x to run my backup's to external disk.
    Thanks,
    Bob

Now I want to organize many/not all of the pictures in my library to specific folders/labeled to match the pictures.
The easiest way to do this is using iPhoto - select the photos and export them (file menu==> export) to the folder you want
I created some new folders that are labeled - then are not sub folders under the Library.
What I do is --- while I'm in the Library, I click 1x on the picture, copy - then I click on the specific folder, paste. The picture does not appear in my folder.
This is not recommended -if you continue messing around inside the iPhoto library it is likely that you will change or move something and corrupt your library
Would someone tell me what I'm going wrong - how to copy pictures from my Library to specific folders ?
    Use the export command
Also --- I do backup my Library to an external drive, when I eventually get pictures in specific folders in iPhoto --- I must now choose those specific folders to backup in addition to my Library ? I use the backup software from OS X 10.6.x to run my backup's to external disk.
Backup will backup exactly what you tell it to - only you know and have access to those settings

  • How can I copy picture from *.exe program in Labview.

I have a problem when I put the program into *.exe executable programs, the picture will not be copied out, please tell me how to set.

Are you using the Clipboard.Get Image Invoke node discussed here? https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-19720
Help for the function found here: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361J-01/lvprop/app_clipboard_get_image/
If so, it doesn't work in the runtime engine. You can use a .NET function instead: https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-28436

  • Can't copy pictures from Text to Photos

    (Running 1.3.5.1)
When I get a photo oin a text messase, it allows me to View it ad provides the option to "Copy to Photos".  When you select "Copy to Photos" it says it is doing it and returns you to the text message - but the photo never actually gets copied.  Anyone else see this behavior, or better yet know if it can be fixed?  Is it an OS bug?

Tagz - UPDATE!  It works, it just wasn't putting the photos where I was expecting them.  Is there a way to sort the photos newest first?  I would've figured it out sooner that way...     :-)

  • Zen Extra: How can I copy albums back to my hdd in the right ord

I have a Zen Extra 60 G. Trying to copy albums back to the hd of my computer the songs are always in alphabetical order. Is there a way to copy them in the right order as they are on the original CD?Thank you very much.Rainer

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Select the pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and set the Kind to Original.
Iphoto does not convert the files to JPEG. Your RAW is protected. What happens is that iPhoto makes a JPEG preview of the file. IF you drag from the iPhoto Window or export with the Kind: Current you get that Preview. Exporting as Original will get the RAW.

Hundreds of my iPhoto pictures will not be copied and will not show when I double-click on them.  When I do in iPhoto an exclamation surrounded by a triangle appears.  Though I can see the picture in the small tiles below it will not expand.  I also cannot attach any of these pics into an e-mail or into any other file.  I have already went through all 3 Repair options and when that did not solve it went through a complete Rebuild.  Any Help?!  Any Suggestions on how to fix this?!  I have spent almost 2 days now going through all of the published help.
I have backups going back 6 months - I have not had the real need to check every album before - but - all of my backups also have this same problem.

The triangle with the ! indicates that the connection between the thumbnail and the orginal is missing - this can be caused by many things including database corruption and user action emoving the originals photos on urpose or by accident
If the database is corrupted then rebuilding is the solution - backup and depress the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and rebuild your database  --  if the iPhoto rebuild does not cure the problem then download iPhoto Library manager and use its rebuild command which creates a totally new library leaving the existing one untouched
If you have deleted the photos then you need to start over with a new library and import the photos you have not deleted into it
You can select one of the problem photos and use the reveal original in finder commander (file menu) to see if the original is there - if it is a finder window will open showing it
