Can't create 4/3 ratio movies anymore!

Am I missing something? It appears that this new iMovie (v10) forces you to create widescreen only projects. Gone is the 4/3 option (alongside with the number of frames per second)
I have tons of home movies transfered from tapes (I am sure plenty of other users are in this situation) !
it is unconscionable that Apple thinks that forcing all your project to be widescreen format is a good thing.
I also use my HD camcorder to record sometimes at 24fps to give a movie feel. Another thing I cannot do anymore with this update.
As for now I'm sticking with iMovie 9.0.3

I too have this problem, as I produce a large number of videos for use with smartboards in schools that are 4:3. The worst problem is that iMovie 10 stretched all of my existing content. Thank goodness I kept a backup. At any rate, I think I will be converting all of my projects to Final Cut Pro now. Yes, I will have to teach some of my family to use a more complex product, but they will get more options anyway. All of these "iOSified" "upgrades" have removed most of the features that I use. For me, this is WORSE than the Final Cut 7.xx to Final Cut X transition, as they did this to their whole iLife and iWork suites.
I'll continue using the old versions until I have migrated all of my projects, then it is bye bye iMovie. I'm actually sad about this, as it was a great tool for my kids to do fairly advanced video projects for school. I guess they will have better skills now that I have to transition them to Final Cut...? I'll keep looking back on this thread just in case somebody finds the 4:3 options buried somewhere...

Can you create a "constructor" for movie clips?

What I'm doing:
var this_array[counter] = new monster; //monster is a movie clip
init_monster(); //set's things like .name, .x, .y, etc.
What I want to do:
var this_array[counter] = new monster();
When I add a "monster" I then call a function to "initialize" all of it's stats.
Is there a way in the creation of the object, like with a constructor, where it automatilly does it on 1 line?
I'm teaching myself and am a little stuck on this part. If I have to create a "monster class" to do what I want just say so.
Any simple examples or links to simple examples would be great. Thanks in advance.

Ok so I've made a class Monster, and I have my movie object Red_Monster
How would I go about creating the variable so it knows it's both?
The only thing I can think of is linking them together as a .variable of the other.
Example:
var this_monster[x] = new Red_Monster();
this_monster[x].stats = new Monster();
It just seems a bit slopy, it would be nice to have this_monster know it's both. Is there a way to do that?

I've gotten Monster to extend MovieClip, and this is working to use it as a movieclip.
Currently trying to change the image of the movie clip in code to Red_Monster. Is there a way to do that?

Found how to do it, sort of. Change the class linkage name to Monster instead of Red_Monster. I just have to make classes for each movie clip.

Ok the answer is to create a Monster class that extends MovieClip. Then for each color_Monster they all extend Monster, no other code needed inside each class other then the constructor.

How can I create a scene and move 3D models in INSIGHT with Labview?

I need some help in doing a LabView application. What i have to do is controlling a 3D model represented in Insight with Labview. Something similar like the six-axis-robot example. I follow the insight configuration wizard, but nothing moves. Comparing the ".cis" files in my program and the one from the six-axis-robot, i found that in the six-axis-robot file contains something called localsystem and the one made by me, doesn't. Can be this the problem? How can I make it work? I would need some kind of step-by-step response, because i'am a beginner with Insight and 3D models. Thanks in advance!

I'm actually finding the next problem. Although in my VRML file the objects are defined separately in a jerarchy tree, I can't move(rotate, translate) each object individually. I have noticed that when i define a new local system and asign it the points of the object i want move in the way you explain (right click, and then dragging the points to the new local axis), the movement of this object is dependent of the other local systems i have defined for other objects , specially if the slave nodes of the .cis file has a lower numeration than the object i want to move. The fact is, the movements assigned , for example to the nodes 1 to 100, will affect to the rest of the nodes if i also define for the rest of the nodes other movements. How can i solve this? I send you my .cis file, just in case my explanation is not enough clear. In this file you can see that movements assigned to nodes 1 to 4078, will also affect to nodes 4079 to 7168, and what i would like to do is define a movement for each obeject independently.

How many softMotion references can you create on an Interface Object

I'm wondering how many softmotion references I can create on an interface object. For example can I create a straight line move on an axis, keep that reference open then at the same time create another line move referece on a coordinate space that using that same axis?
Can I have multiple line move references open at the same time on the same axis?

I have noticed that the SoftMotion express vis open a reference on first call, but they never close the reference. On my machine I will be doing regular coordinate moves and from time to time I will need to perform an Axis move. Would it be better practice to close each reference after I perform the move? How much overhead does it take to create a new reference? The thought I had on keeping multiple reference open was to minimize the overhead in opening a reference. Once my system gives a trigger to perform a move, I need it to be very responsive.

Can I creat a new user account and move all my files to that new user?

This should help you out after you have created the new user account. You are trying to make it much more complex than it needs to be. Just follow the directions in:

With SP16-17 we can't create support message from satellite system anymore

hello,
We have implemented the support package 16 and 17 SAPKITL427 in solution manager last week-end and since then all satellite systems can not create support message anymore.
The process is perfectly working in solman itself and we don't think we have thus a process customizing issue here but who knows...
The key user creates the message with the help -> create support message
and when he saves it (clicking the mailbox button) he gets the following error
Error in Local Message System: Function not available Message was Not
Created
In fact the error Message is BCOS088
We debugged the function BCOS_CREATE_MSG and we found out that the function
DNO_OW_CREATE_NOTIFICATION is returning error code 1.
We checked out RFC connection and it looks ok
There is no dumps in ST22, no error in SLG1 in both system...a nightmare
The notification SLF1 is created in solman but the status field of the notification is empty and it looks that the record is somehow corrupted because you can't modify it with dnotifwl.
Due to the fact that the notification is not correctly created the support message is also not created.
SAP and our solman consultant are working on it since 2 days but don't have a clue. Maybe some program where no regenerated correctly ?
If you would have any idea in which direction to look, i would greatly appreciate

Hi Shada this can happen if you are including additional installers to your installer for example DAQmx. When you are doing this the installer has to include other files like MAX (Measuremente and Automation Explorer). Probably when you installed Vision Builder it updated MAX, so when your installer is trying to Include MAX, its asking for the source where it was installed in your computer in this case Vision Builder.
Here you can cache the information so its not asked again, or you can download a newer version fo DAQmx, so it will update MAX and change de dependecy.

Can't create folders anymore

I can't create new folders on 2 of my volumes anymore.
I am using OSX Leopard 10.5.2 on an iMAC.
The blue New Folder icon in Finder is greyed out and the disk icon is showing a little lock, so the volume seems to be locked for some reason.
I still can add files, but I can't add new folders.
How can I fix this ?

The problem is the lock. You could try this Terminal command to clear it:
chflags nouchg /Volumes/"Name of Drive"
Hit Return after giving the command and see if the lock icon disappears. If the drive name contains spaces, for instance "Mac Back Up" you need to surround the name with quotes. If it is all one simple word, just Backup for instance, you don't need the quotes. The Terminal is in your utilities folder.
Depending on the permissions on the drive you might need to run the command as super user. Let us know if the simple fix works.

I have some Quicktime movies (.mov) that I made in Director. I want them to loop by default, but there's no setting for this in Director that I can find. (Not getting any answers on the Director forum...)
I know I can set Quicktime Player to loop movies continuously but I want the loop built in.
I'm a total novice at Premiere but I have access to use it at work. Can I change an already-made non-looping Quicktime movie to a looping Quicktime movie using Premiere CS4? How? Or some other way (freeware)?

A looping Quicktime movie seems like such a simple concept - an Export checkbox: "loop infinitely". Any ideas on why this is not something that could easily be implemented into Premiere, Final Cut, Director etc.?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. How many movies do you put on a page and how do you add them? There are alternate methods to add movies to a page so they do not load until the Play button is selected. This will allow the page to load very fast and now have to load the movies at the same time. If you find this could be or is a problem with your site post back and I'll link to demo pages showing some alternative methods.
