Can't create a musical project in GB 08'

It has been two days of long search to solve a problem since in upgrading to GB 08'.I phoned tech suport;two guys looked at it with no solution.When I open GB,it shows me create a musical project,open a musical project,create a magic,create podcats.everything works fine except for the new project thing.I've read everything;fonts,prefs etc.....and done everything....
Is there a final solution....instead of waiting for an update.

Help! I have the same issue, only I can't create a new Podcast Episode (everything else works fine). It allows me to title the podcast and pick a save location. When I click OK, it just goes back to the original "Create New..." window and does not create a new podcast file.
I have tried the following:
1. repaired permissions
2. updated Garageband
3. logged in as a guest user
Does anyone have any other ideas?

When you open Logic, close the project that its automatically brought up (see CCT's answer above, which explains how you can change that behaviour, if you like - I usually want to listen to the last thing I was doing, but its your choice - and then File>New.
So, yeah, you do have to close the currently loaded project first.

Can you create Multiple Music Catagories???

I am trying to figure out if you can make two different Music Folders in your itunes and then load both of them onto your ipod.
Basically I wont one that is for music and one that is for Audio Books. I dont want to put my music on shuffle and have my Jim Rohn start playing. haha. Anyone have any tips on how to do this. there must be a way.

What you are describing is called playlists.
If you don't want playlist to include audiobooks then when you set up smart playlist make one of the rules exclude audiobooks.

Can't Create New Excel Project Visual Studio 2013 Office Tools The Project Cannot Be Created

I am having this issue on two computers. If I try to create an Excel 2013 Workbook C# in new projects, and choose create a new workbook, it starts to open Excel, and then I get this error in VS

Uninstall & Reinstall of VSTO from the Visual Studio Installer
Uninstall & Reinstall of Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate, (manually removing anything with visual studio that was left over)
Manually turning on the add-on Visual Studio Tools for Office Design-Time Adapter for Excel
Installing VSTO by hand
Enabling Macros
Running VS as administrator
Uninstalling & Reinstalling Office 2013 Pro Plus OLP

How do I create the project settings for footage with these properties: 1920 x 1080 47.95 fps? And some of the footage was shot with a 29.97 fps.

There is no project preset (project setting) nor export choice for 47.95 frames per second.
The project preset of a project should match the properties of your source media so that the program is directed to establish the correct space in the Edit area monitor space for editing purposes. There is only one project preset for each project. When you have a "mixed Timeline content", you will need to set priorities and then fit everything else into the one setting.
At export, you have opportunities for customizing the export settings under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab. And, what is exported will be as one as definied by the customized export settings.
Can we assume that your "1920 x 1080 @ 47.95 frames per second is progressive and you are in a NTSC setup? If so, look at the project preset

Can you create an iMovie project from 2 different formats?

Hi,
I have video shot with a newer Cannon HD camera, and a slightly older Sony Handicam (DV), both shot on miniDV tapes.
iMovie '09 accepts both, but the stuff shot in DV looks distorted, and appears to have the aspect messed up as there are the "black bars" around it, making it almost look squished.
I don't think changing my camera play back settings will help. I'm guessing it was shot in 4:3. Would I have to edit/zoom every frame to "fit"? My ultimate project would be widescreen as that's what my HD was shot in.

To use 4:3 content in a 16:9 project you have 2 options FIT or CROP.
In a 16:9 project:
- The " FIT " option displays 4:3 content Pillar-Boxed (Black bars on both sides of the image)
- The " CROP " option zooms the 4:3 content to fill the 16:9 frame (No black bars)
Here's how you can access these options:
1. Open iMovie '09
2. Go to "File > New Project" and select "Widescreen 16:9"
3. Click "Create"
4. Drag & Drop a _4:3 clip_ into the _16:9 project_ you just created
5. Go to "iMovie > Preferences... > General"
6. Check the "Show Advanced Tools"
7. Back to your project select your 4:3 clip
8. Press the "c" key on your keyboard
9. Choose between FIT or CROP and click "Done"
That's it!

I want a *Music Video* playlist so that all my music videos will play one after the other without user interaction (when playing in the Universal Dock with it's useless remote control).

Can't create a DVD project in imovie

Each time I try to create an imovie while I'm in imovie, it tells me that it must have idvd 4 or above. I have idvd 5. I've reinstalled my software but it keep doing the same thing.
Can anyone help me on this? The movie's are finished in imovie, I just want to burn them to a dvd to play in regular dvd players.

There was one more question I had: "Did you verify the drive with Disk Utility and did it get the "all clear"?"

Launch DiskUtility (in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder) and select the whole disk (not the volume Macintosh HD, but the one above with the disk identifier as name). Then click on "verify disk".
Then do the same with "Macintosh HD" selected.
If both verifications are passed, i.e. they "appear to be ok", also check the SMART status of your disk. The trial version of Smart Utility will do that (better than Disk Utility).
If all these checks are passed and if you have an external drive to clone your Macintosh HD to, I'd do that, re-partition the internal drive to 1 Partition, re-install Mavericks with the full installer and run Bootcamp Assistant to partition for Bootcamp. Then clone back "Macintosh HD".
Oh, one more question: how big are you trying to make the bootcamp partition?

My .fla is just in a folder...Please help. It will not publish at all.

I have the same issue. My project is super simple. All the files are in the same directory. The doc class and the .fla have the same name. The project publishes without a hitch in Flash Professional CC. When I try to add the project to Flash Builder 4.7 it give me:

Function: getFLABuildPaths
Error message: Error. Cannot find the file ....
I have checked the path to the .fla twice and scrutinized the spellings and they are correct. It is pointing right to the correctly named .fla, but for some reason it fails. I'll post if I find out something usefull.

Appbuilder- Error while creating a cordova project.

I am getting an error "invalid no of parameter" while create a cordova project for a superList(name SAP_Superlist), but showing successfully created message aswell. Due to the error cordova project is not getting created in the workspace path mentioned in the setting.
but i went mannually to the 'D:\install\SMP SDK\SDK\appbuilder-1.0.1245\ares-roject\hermes\filesystem\root\guest\SAP_Superlist\packages\temp'
and started create project. SAP_Superlist folder is getting created but getting the below errors again. I guess both of errors are same.
Could you please help me in getting this resolved.

Have you installed node, Apache ANT and Cordova. To make sure you installed Cordova properly and it is working, you can try creating a cordova project using cordova commands as give below:
Use the command cordova -d create C:\Kapsel_Projects\LogonDemo com.opensap.myfirst to create a new project.
Add the android platform to the project using the below command
cordova -d platform add android

Can't create region/use notation

New to GB, but Googled a LOT today.
I'm trying to add notes in the editor, but nothing is working. Here's what I'm doing.
- Launch GB.
- Click Create New Music Project
- Click Create (makes "My Song" on Desktop)
- Displays green Grand Piano
- Click Grand Piano for good measure
- Cmd-Click in grey box to right of "Mixer" (i.e. the track) to try to make new region
NOTHING happens. No context menu. Nothing.
- Click scissors to open track editor editor
- Click note to get notation editor
- Cmd-Click and context menu with notes appears
- Select whole note
NOTHING happens. Note not added to staff.
I've read this forum, bulletsandbones, and a bunch of others.
I cannot create a region in order to add notes to it to use the notation editor.
What am I missing?

Thanks for the idea.
I have already tried that. It does create a green region with notes. However, I cannot add my own notes to it. I managed to delete the silly notes by selecting all and deleting, but then I get a whole rest and cannot add notes in. When there are notes in it, I cannot append notes to the end of the region, either.
I'm using 4.1.2, if that makes a difference...
