Can't create an array of WebBrowser​s

I drop an array constant down (and I tried this with a cluster also) and I try to add a WebBrowser into it but it won't take it.  The web browser is in the .Net and ActiveX pallete - if you hover over it, its type says SHDocVw.IWebBrowser2.  I was hoping to have an array of webBrowsers because (as I've mentioned in numerous other threads) I need to talk via secure (TLSV1) link to numerous radios - each will have a different IP address, and would need their specific html (or xml in some cases) data displayed on its specific browser.  I would then process that radio's specific data.  I could probably create X (upto 32) instantiations of my EXE (that currently has one webBrowser), but that seems extremely difficult to manage.  I did see that I can have a tab control with numerous tabs (say 32) and have a web browser on each.  I currently (for one webBrowser) get its Document property, its body, then its inner text, and if that string length is > 0 then there is something there.  This isn't a very reliable method of detecting a message has arrived, so I'm open to suggestions.  Regardless, I would need a way to know which of my 16 (or maybe 32) web servers received data, and process that message accordingly.   I thought of somehow incorporating an object-oriented approach such that everytime a new radio was desired, a new object would be created to support all its properties/methods - this is somewhat uncharterd territory, however.

instead of creating a lot of instances of your program, you can create a vi template with one activex browser in it and create as many instances as you need.

    I suspect it won't work for your intended application, but here is an answer to your question:
    You can't create an array of arrays, because that would be the same as increasing the number of dimensions of the array. However, you can store an array in a cluster, then have an array of clusters with arrays in them. So, indirectly it is possible. This gives you the possibility of each array being a different size.

  • Can I create "variable array"?

    Is it possible to create an array of variables? Eg. if I have to 10 boolean control, called Switch1, Switch2... Switch10, and I need to switch one of them to ON, but which one to switch on depends on different situation. Say, at situation A, I need to switch on Switch3, then at situation B, I need to switch on Switch5, etc. Can I write just one command, with the switch number as the input, so that it can switch on different boolean control (Switch#) at different time? (i.e. treating the variables Switch1 to Switch10 as an array of variables called Switch#).
    BTW, this question was asked by another LabView user in 2000, but there hasn't been a satisfactory anwer.

    I can think of one way off the top of my head, but it suffers from some fundamental flaws, and I'm not entirely familiar with the functions involved, so it may not work!
    The solution:
    It is possible to open a reference (using the Open VI Reference) to the VI being run. From there, it is possible to obtain a reference to all of the controls on the front panel using property nodes. Using these references, it should be possible to set the properties of the controls.
    The flaws: It's complex, it's large overhead, and it's virtually impossible to maintain.
    I've run into the same problem before with controls embedded in tab controls, since buttons on two different tabs cannot belong to the same cluster or array. I have yet to see a solutio
    n that I like.
    Perhaps someone else out there has seen a good solution for this one? Or maybe NI will bite the bullet and implement heterogeneous arrays and "virtual" clusters (clusters who's front panel objects are not spatially associated

  • Can't create raid array in 10.4.6

    I am trying to create a mirrored raid array with two Fantom USB 2 external harddrives using disk utility.
    I am unable to drag the image of any hard drive into the right window and the create button is never activated.
    I have restarted, verified the disks and so on. I hve tried to select a different external disk but that won't work either.
    Any ideas what's up.

    You can try updating the drivers from the makers site, but it could be that Apple won't allow USB drives to RAIDed.
    Unless your recording ET or something where a hard drive failure could mean disaster, mirrors are not ideal form of backup.
    Consider auto-cloning and auto-backup software like DeJaVu or Retrospect.
    What this will do is give you the benefit of time, cloning will "clone" a whole boot drive and make it bootable in case you need it. (You can clone a whole non-boot drive as well.) Auto-backup will copy user type files and folders, but it's not designed to copy a OS from one drive to another.

  • Please help - I can not create large arrays of images (no more than 108 elements)

    Hello,
    I am working in an application where i acquire 300 high resolution images (3Mp) and then i process each of those frames.
    When i try to put alll those frames in one array of images, the system does not let me more than 108 elements. There is no such message like out of memory or memory error. It is just that when i visualize the array of images, there are good frames the first 108 elements, and then white frames the rest of the elements.
    Ideallically i would prefer to process frames as i am acquiring them, but i am concerned about the remaining processing time for the rest of the tasks.
    Then, as an alternative, I have tried to store frames in two shorter arrays, and i ended up observing that when the first array (say 50 elements) is full and the second array starts (another 50 elements for example), labview needs a certain time in the the middle (like three seconds between closing first array and starting acquiring on the second array). If i dont wait that time between arrays, both arrays contain the same information. I know, this is weird, and i know about the fact of passing information by reference on imaq images. 
    The most interesting thing is that when i reduce considerably the resolution of the image (say that now, instead 3Mp they are 2Mp), the maximum number of elements on the arrays are exactly the same: 108, so this makes me wonder if it is a memory constrain. And the code is fairly simple, there is no way that i am cutting the acquisition at the number 108.
    So my question is, How can i put 300 frames in one just one array? or How can eliminate the time i have to wait between arrays?
    I have heard about memory allocation and so, but i am not sure how to proceed. I have windows 7.

    It's hard to visualize.  Please post the code - or at least a shell representing your code - so we can see what is happening.  Are you sure you are getting 108 contiguous pictures, or are some aquisitions being skipped?  Is the first picture in the array the first aqcuisition?  Is the last picture the last acquisition?
    I really don't think it is about memory allocation.  I think it could be about your method of acquiring and processing said acquisitions.

  • How can I create sub-arrays based on the positions of indicies in a separate index array?

    Please forgive me if this question is basic or obvious. I am fairly new to LabVIEW and I'm trying to learn as I go along.
    I have a 1D array of index values (the number of possible index values is not fixed, but can vary between uses of the application; it could be just {0, 1} on one day and {1, 5, 11, 678} on another) and a 1D array of measurement values (doubles). I'd like to parse the measurement values into sub-arrays for each index, so that if my index array was:
    [0 1 1 1 1 5 5 0 5 5 1 0 1 1 5]
    and my measurement array was:
    [0.1 0.2 0.3 0.4 0.5 0.6 0.7 0.8 0.9 0.10 0.11 0.12 0.13 0.14 0.15]
    I would get back 3 sub-arrays:
    [0.1 0.8 0.12]
    [0.2 0.3 0.4 0.5 0.11 0.13 0.14]
    [0.6 0.7 0.9 0.10 0.15]
    I know there must be a simple way to do this, I guess I'm just stuck too much in matlab-array thinking to figure it out... please help!

  • Can we create an array as a button?

    I konw that my subject is not really clear....
    I have files names in an excel project. I want to display all of this files like a button in the aim to open one, considering to files inside the excel file:
    For instance : if I have 3 files : file1, file2, file3 the VI does a menu button with ONLY 3 solutions: file1, file2, file3 to permit to the user to clic on one of this 3 files.

    Use the Property Node to get and set various properties on an application
    or VI. Select properties from the node by using the Operating tool to click
    the property terminal or by right-clicking the white area of the node and
    selecting Properties from the shortcut menu.
    You can read or write multiple properties using a single node, however
    some properties are not writable. Use the Positioning tool to resize the
    Property Node to add new terminals. A small direction arrow to the right of
    the property indicates a property you read. A small direction arrow to the
    left of the property indicates a property you write. Right-click the property
    and select Change to Read or Change to Write from the shortcut menu to
    change the operation of the property.
    The node executes from top to bottom. The Property Node does not execute
    if an error occurs before it executes, so always check for the possibility of
    errors. If an error occurs in a property, LabVIEW ignores the remaining
    properties and returns an error. The error out cluster contains information

    if you still don't get it, i suggest that you read the labview manual, or parts of it and take a look at a few example's supplied by labview

    I am afraid this is undocumented usage of Tween class. According to the class documentation one needs to create instances of Tween. Since there are no explicit instances - I suspect that one Teen is overriding another or, perhaps, is not getting instantiated all together.
    So, the documented usage is:
    var tween:Tween = new Tween()
    Not just new Tween()

    I also would suggest you look into TweenLite or TweenMax classes - they are much more compact, easier to use and accommodate several properties tweening in one swoop.

    We have a table that holds metadata about files (hardcopy or softcopy files).
    We expect we may need more columns in the table at some point and don't want to modify the table or the application.
    So in order to do this I would like to create:
    A table called TBL_FILE with the columns:
    TBL_FILE_ID               NUMBER                (This will be the primary key)
    TBL_FILE_NAME          VARCHAR2(1000) (This will be the name of the file)
    A second table will be called TBL_FILE_META with the columns:
    TBL_META_ID               NUMBER               (This will be the primary key)
    TBL_FILE_ID               NUMBER                (This will be the forign key to the file table)
    TBL_META_COLUMN     VARCHAR2(30)     (This is what the column name would be if it existed in TBL_FILE)
    TBL_META_VALUE          VARCHAR2(1000) (This is the value that record and the 'would be' column)
    So a person can have as much meta data on the file with out having to add columns to the table.
    The problem is how can I allow users to add as much data as they like with out having to re develop the page.
    Other things to note is that we would like this to be on a single page.
    I know how to add we can create multi-row inserts by using a SQL Query (updateable report),
    however the TBL_META_VALUE column in the TBL_FILE_META will sometimes be a select list and other times a text box or number field.
    So I don't see now a SQL Query (updateable report) would work for this and I can't create an array of page items at run time can I?
    Any idea's how I could accomplish this? Is there a better way of doing this?
    Also is there a term or a name for what I am doing by creating these 'virtual' columns in another table?

    Yes, you can do it. Updatable report/ Tabular Form query can be constructed from the Meta Data using PL/SQL Function Returning SQL Query . It will be a bit of coding in PL/SQL where you use the Meta Data and the Meta Data of the Meta Data to piece together your SELECT with the right APEX_ITEMs. It might have a performance penalty associated with it, but will not be a serious degradation.

    Can I create an array of vectors in Java ? For instance I want to have an array of days in a year, an on each day there are several things to do, and I don't know this up front, so I want it to be a Vector holding the things_to_do object, some days might have nothing to do, so there should be null or an empty vector for that day. So I came up with something like the following :
    Vector<Things>[] Days_Array=new Vector<Things>[365];
    But Java doesn't allow this ?

    I wonder if there is a way to fix it without turning the warning off, what I meant is : Am I missing something that caused the warning that I should add to the code, I don't want to turn off the warning. For instance how can I make the "conversion" checked ?

  • How to create an array with controls and indicators?

    I want to create a scrollable array of control/indicator pairs from a config file.  Something that looks like the attached image.  Of course, I can only create an array that's either either a control or indicator -- not both (the operator should not be able to edit the name or change the state of the LED).  So I guess I need to split the array and have two side-by-side and SOMEHOW link the scrollbars.  But then I have no idea how I can get the control switch states from the array.  Is there an easier way to do what I'm trying to do?

  • How to create an array of generics?

    I have the following snippet of code using array of vectors:
    Vector[] tmpArr = new Vector[n];
    for(int j=0; j<n; j++)
    tmpArr[j] = new Vector();
    String str = ...
    if (!tmpArr[j].contains(str))
    tmpArr[j].add(str);
    And I want to convert to generics:
    Vector<String>[] tmpArr = new Vector<String>[n];
    for(int j=0; j<n; j++)
    tmpArr[j] = new Vector<String>();
    String str = ....
    if (!tmpArr[j].contains(str))
    tmpArr[j].add(str);
    But the first row gives me an error:
    -->Generic array creation.
    If I change it in
    Vector<String>[] tmpArr = new Vector<String>[n];
    (as I've seen in a pdf by G.Bracha talking aout collections)
    it gives me the error:
    -->cannot find symbol
    -->method add(String)
    in the
    tmpArr[j].add(str);
    row.
    The only way it seems to work is
    Vector<String>[] tmpArr = new Vector[n];
    but it gives me the unchecked conversion warning.
    How can I create an array of generics?

    You can't
    Actually, that depends on the exact definition of a generic array. If by generic array someone means "an array comprised of elements defined by a type parameter", there is a solution.

    // Cheating won't work, because the compiler catches the error...
    Something<Vector> vectorThing = new Something<Vector>(Integer.class);This approach, however, doesn't enable you to create an array of typed elements (like Vector<String>[]). If that is the definition of a generic array, then it is indeed not possible to create one.
    After all, while Vector[].class exists and can be resolved at runtime, there's no such thing as Vector<String>[].class, so there's no way you could provide the class definition of the component type to the constructor of Something.
    This may be a surprise to mdt_java, because if I remember correctly, templates in C++ cause actually different classes to be created for 'generic' types. This is not the case with Java.
