Can't create apple id for child

I am trying to create an apple id for my 7 year old son and follow all the prompts but once I come to verifying my payment method it does not advance and ask for the security code from the card. Then when I go to the app store or iTunes and enter the security code and then go back to creating the id it still asks me to verify.

According to Apple a person must be 13 before they will be issued an Apple ID. Perhaps that's the issue?

    Hi ,

    Hi abudicha,
Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you are setting up Family Sharing and creating an Apple ID for your child.
In this case, it is necessary to use a credit card when creating the Apple ID, although the payment method can be changed to debit card once the Apple ID is created.
To comply with child online privacy protection laws, you will use the CVV or security code from a valid credit card as part of providing your parental consent. If the card on file is a debit card or another payment method, you’ll be asked to provide a credit card before you can continue. After you create the child's Apple ID, you can change your payment method back to a debit card.

  • Cannot Create Apple ID for Child in iOS8

I'm on the Apple Support page titled: Family Sharing and Apple IDs for kids
It gives step-by-step instructions for setting up an Apple ID for a child under 13 years old - this is a new feature of iOS8 and its Family Sharing feature.
Step 4 is to enter my credit card security code, however when I actually go through the process, after step 3 I am told "A credit card is required" and that I must got to iTunes & App Store Settings to add a valid credit card to my account.  Having done that (more than once!) I still get the same message.  I'm stuck in an infinite loop! The instructions are not matching the actual process.
Has as anybody else encountered this problem? Any known fixes? Do I have to wait for 8.0.1? I have to say, with my younger children using iPads at school, I was very much looking forward to this feature!
    Thanks in advance -John

Someone else suggested that the issue is cause by trying to use a debit card and, at least for now, can be solved by adding a credit card instead: Creating a Child Account Error - Solved.

  • I have multiple devices (imacs, lap tops and ipads) all connected to a NAS server.  Can I create a user for myself and one for my wife, and each have our own apple ID, and Itunes accounts, but all share the same media on NAS drives?

I have multiple devices (iMacs, Lap tops, Ipads) all connected to a Nas Drive.  Can I create a user for myself and one for my wife and we each have our own apple ID's, Itunes etc, but share the same data on the hard drives?  So when she logs in, and sync's her ipads, they will sync with her stuff and when I do the same under my user account, on the same device, my ipads will sync with my stuff?

You can share the same Apple ID for purchasng form the iTunes and app stores without any problems, but you should all used separate iCloud accounts with separate Apple IDs.  (You are not required to use the same ID for iCloud and other services as you do for the iTunes store.)  This will prevent you from ending up with merged data.  You should also use separate Apple IDs for iMessage and FaceTime or you will end up getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls.

  • Can't create apple id this device is no longer eligible FOR CREATING A FREE ICLOUD ACCOUNT

I am not able to create a new i cloud apple id apple phone showing this error (can't create apple id this device is no longer eligible FOR CREATING A FREE ICLOUD ACCOUNT). So i requested please help us.
    Thanks

Any one device can create only three iCloud accounts; if your phone has already created three then it can never create any more - this is tied to the hardware, not the user account. You can create an iCloud account on another iOS device or a Mac and then you will be able to sign into that on your phone.

  • Missing birth date when adding apple-id for child

When adding apple-id for child the field for adding birth date is missing in form.

If they are 13 they would obtain a normal Apple ID (13 is the age cutoff historically for an Apple ID). They should create one normally and then you can associate it with your account. I don't know if purchase control will work with that.

  • Can't create Apple ID new family sharing

Problem:  error message "can't Create Apple ID" during set up
Trying to set up iPhone 4S (iOS 7.1) for kid to use as iPod touch.
Used my iPhone 5s (iOS 8.1) to set up a family share account for kid- account clearly shows up in my settings.
When I am setting up the 4S I get to the page requesting to Sign in with your Apple ID.
When I enter her newly created ID I get the error above.
    Any troubleshooting tips?

I'm having the same issue. I think it's because Family Sharing (and the associated "Kid" account concept) was a new feature of iOS 8 and is only supported in iOS 8 (and future versions). Here's Apple's requirements page for various iCloud features: System requirements for iCloud - Apple Support
I guess you're stuck upgrading to the latest iOS on your son's 4S. But beware that it's the oldest iPhone that supports iOS 8, and I suspect you'll run into some performance issues. And from experience, kids aren't very patient when it comes to their gadgets.
    Good luck.

  • Can i create apple id without use the credit card?

can i create apple id without use the credit card?

I'm getting the same thing. I created a new Apple ID via the Internet (appleid.apple.com) When I go to my device to try to use it, I have to review it first and in that process, I'm asked for a credit card or iTunes gift card. There is NO 'none' option.
I work in a school district and we'd like employees to use their own apple ID for free apps which will allow them the freedom to explore apps without weighing down our tech dept with myriad requests for random apps. I deal with a broad demographic and many users are suspicious of putting personal credit card info on an Internet-based account.
However, it appears they are locked out of the store unless they have some form of payment on file. Even if they enter a gift card, what happens when it's used up? Will they get locked out of the store if they don't have a balance?
Anyone have a work around? If not ... APPLE Please update your support materials to explain this, or fix the bug.
    Thanks!

how can i create apple id without using credit card details ?

@Limnos - that doesn't work anymore. There is no NONE option. I've been at it for hours trying to set up my daughter's account. I've tried creating and verifying an appleID on the web, on her touch...everything. Every single time you get to the stupid Touch, it wants to walk you through the verification of the account and it demands payment (even for their suggested apple Remote method listed in the KB).

If the thief enabled activation lock on the device, then there is nothing that can be done.  Only the password for the Apple ID that it is locked with can disable activation lock.

  • How can I create a URL for a PWA for MS Project Server 2010 project file that includes the view?

Hi, this question has been answered for 2013. The answer here suggests that it can be done in  2010.
    See:

    Hi Sander,
As far as I tested it, it is not possible either with PS2010. The URL only contains the PDP name and the projUID.
