Can't create Calendar Event from Mail on my iPad anymore

I no longer can create a new iPad Calendar Event from tapping on a date in email I receive.  The new Event dialog box will still appear when I click on the date in an email, but the dialog box is now too small and off-center, hiding the Done button in the upper right corner of the Dialog. Without the Done button, I can't create the new Calendar Event.  I can't resize the dialog box, or re-center it.
Is this a common problem after the latest iOS update?  Can anyone help?  Thanks.

This still works for me in iOS 6.1.3
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

  • Create Calendar event from Mail on iPad Mini in landscape

    I have an iPad Mini.  While in landscape and creating a new calendar event from the body of an email (by selecting the date in the body) I'm unable to get the entire (it is truncated) screen allowing me to set the date and time of the event.  It doesn't show the Done button in the upper right.
    This works fine on my other devices (iPad and iPhone) in landscape, and also works fine on the iPad Mini in portrait, but it does not work in landscape.
    Does anyone else have this problem?

  • Problem creating iCal Events from Mail in Leopard

    The new function that allows the user to create iCal events from Mail messages is quite impressive and very useful. Unfortunately the data detectors seem to have trouble with certain commonplace date formats. While the detector recognises the date, it cannot activate an event in iCal. For instance the data detector will pick up the dates in these formats and create iCal events:
    30 October 2007
    30 Oct 07
    30/10/07
    but not in this format:
    30-Oct-07
    In the latter case, the data detector recognises it is a date, produces the drop menu, but will not carry through and create an event to iCal. It's annoying in that many companies use the latter format in their communications. Any workaround?

    There is another problem I have found.
    I have my computer set in international settings formats to show the date in the "English format"
    January 4th 2007 is 4/1, however an entry in mail 4/1 is put into iCal on the first of April!
    I found this out after looking for a meeting I knew I had put in for next week.
    beware, can this bug be fixed?

  • I can't forward calendar events from my iPad.  Does anyone know how to do this?

    I have an iPad that I use as my primary mobile device. However, there are times when I need to forward a calendar event, where I am not the organizer. I can't find a way to do that on my iPad or iPhone. Does anyone know how to do this?

    Did you try Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Tap your ID, sign out and then sign in with the new ID?

  • How can i create an event from a cell of JTable ?

    Hi , I am having a JTable which has two types of render : checkboxCellRender and DefaultTableCellRenderer
    i want to generate an event by clicking the checkbox which will do color changes for other cells . How can i do that ? Can i pass the events ?
    code snippet :
    class checkboxCellRenderExt extends checkboxCellRender
              public checkboxCellRenderExt(){}
              public Component getTableCellRendererComponent(JTable table, Object value,
                        boolean isSelected, boolean hasFocus,
                        int row, int column)
    JCheckBox c=(JCheckBox)super.getTableCellRendererComponent( table,value,isSelected,hasFocus,row, column);
    JTableModel md = (JTableModel)m_TablePan.getTable().getModel();
    Vector currentRow = md.getRow(row);
    if(isSelected)
    boolean m_bavail = ((Boolean)currentRow.get(COLUMN_TCM_STATUS)).booleanValue();
    if(!m_bavail)
         c.setForeground(Color.BLACK);
         c.setBackground(Color.WHITE);
    else
         c.setForeground(table.getSelectionForeground());
         c.setBackground(table.getSelectionBackground());
    else
    setForeground(table.getForeground());
    setBackground(table.getBackground());
    return this;
    class CustomcellRenderer extends DefaultTableCellRenderer
         public CustomcellRenderer()
         public Component getTableCellRendererComponent(JTable table, Object value,
                                  boolean isSelected, boolean hasFocus,
                                  int row, int column)
              checkboxCellRender chkbox =null;
              JLabel lb;
              Component c = super.getTableCellRendererComponent(table,value,isSelected,hasFocus,row, column);
              if (value == null)
         return c;
              if (value instanceof String)
                   String s = (String) value;
                   lb = (JLabel)c;
                   lb.setBorder (noFocusBorder);
                   lb.setText(s);
         JTableModel md = (JTableModel)m_TablePan.getTable().getModel();
         Vector currentRow = md.getRow(row);
              this.setHorizontalAlignment(JCheckBox.CENTER);
    if(isSelected)
                   boolean m_bavail = ((Boolean)currentRow.get(COLUMN_TCM_STATUS)).booleanValue();
                   if(!m_bavail)
                        c.setForeground(Color.BLACK);
                        c.setBackground(Color.WHITE);
                   else
                   c.setForeground(table.getSelectionForeground());
                   c.setBackground(table.getSelectionBackground());
    else
                   setForeground(table.getForeground());
                   setBackground(table.getBackground());
    return this;
    }

    Don't forget to use the Code Formatting Tags so the posted code retains its original formatting. That is done by selecting the code and then clicking on the "Code" button above the question input area.
    Add a TableModelListener to the TableModel. An event is fired when the contents of the cell are changed.

  • Can't create calendar event with same name

    Hi everyone,
    I'm trying to track how often something happens using my calendar and having problems.  When I craete an event and call it star. The next time it happens I create a new event and call it the same thing but it erases the last star event. Even if I modify the name slightly and call the first one star 1 then the next event star 2, it will keep star 2 but erase star 1. The events are usually across different calendar months. Does anyone know why this is or how I can get round it? It's very annoying!
    I'm using an iPhone 4 iOS 7.1.2.
    thanks muchly

    Found solution, so simple...duh!  When I did the iOS8 update, it set the
    Calendar to default for Sync to "Events 1 Month Back".  Surprised it didn't set to default when I
    upgraded my iPad.
    I searched and searched the web and forums for this problem
    and was surprised that I couldn't get any results.  Searched some more this a.m. and the answer
    was provided by Jesse Hollington 7/4/2012 on the iLounge forum. Thanks so much!

  • How can I automatically create calendar events using text from a Pages document?

    Hello,
    I'm looking for a way that I can automatically have calendar events created, by extracting dates and times from a table within a Pages document I have saved on my Mac.
    Currently, I record my working hours/dates on a Pages document in table format, so that I can record and ensure I receive payment for all hours I work.
    After finding out which shifts I have for the week, I insert the day, date, start time and end time (for each shift), into a table within a Pages document.
    I'm wondering if there is any way - such as through Automator, Apple Scripts, etc. - that I can then have the Calendar app automatically create events from that data - including the date, start and end times for each shift?
    Also, if possible, is there a way to set each event to automatically alert me at a chosen time (1 day, 2 days, etc.) beforehand?
    Here is an example of the layout of my document table:
    Date
    Start
    Finish
    Duration
    Saturday, 21 December 2013
    8:00 AM
    5:00 PM
    9:00 hrs
    Sunday, 22 December 2013
    9:00 AM
    6:00 PM
    9:00 hrs
    Monday, 23 December 2013
    12:00 PM
    9:00 PM
    9:00 hrs
    Tuesday, 24 December 2013
    12:00 PM
    6:00 PM
    6:00 hrs
    If anyone can help with this question, that would be greatly appreaciated, as then I could have my calendar automatically create and sync my work shifts across to my iPhone, iPad and Mac.
    Thanks in advance,
    John.

    I totally agree with you.
    Where are the fixes for a long string of bugs, glitches and user issues?
    Looking at the list of new "features" for the next OSX, Maverick (what a dumb name!), all I am seeing is Apple ripping off other peoples' ideas, something it swinges others mercilessly for.
    There is not one thing in Maverick that I don't already have, only more so, with 3rd party add-ons.
    Apple seems bereft of ideas now and I am totally mystified what it is doing with all that money and employees it has accumulated.

  • How can i import my calendar events from google calendar to ical?

    how can i import my calendar events from google calendar to ical?

    To set up CalDAV support for Google Calendar in Apple's iCal, follow these steps:
    Open Apple iCal, go to Preferences and then the Accounts tab.
    Click on the + button to add an account.
    In the box that pops up, enter a description for the account and your Google Account username and password.
    Under Server Options, add the following URL:
    https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user//www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user
    Replace '[email protected]' with the email address that you use to log in to Calendar. Make sure to include the '@domain.com' portion (which is @gmail.com for Gmail users) in this section.
    DO NOT substitute your username for 'user' at the end of the URL.
    Leave the Use Kerberos v5 for authentication option unchecked.
    Click Add.
    Under the Delegation tab, select the calendars you'd like to add to iCal by checking the boxes next to them. You may need to hit refresh to get the latest list of calendars.
    Add your email address to your Address Book card by selecting Add Email. You'll be prompted to add your email address only if your address is not already in your Address Book.
    You won't be able to invite or email guests to Google Calendar events within iCal if your address is not in your Address Book.
    Your Google Calendar will now appear in iCal's list of calendars, and changes you make to your Google Calendar in iCal will be reflected when you sign in to Google Calendar.
    Event information will automatically refresh every five minutes. You can change this interval by opening the iCal > Preferences > Accounts menu and selecting a new refresh interval under the 'Refresh calendars' drop-down. Keep in mind you can also force a refresh by selecting a calendar and pressing the Apple and R keys at the same time.
    Calendars that are checked but disabled have already been added to iCal - you can remove them from within iCal.

  • Getting tasks, calendar event from MS Exchange Server

    Hello!
    I have a problem. I need to connect to MS Exchange Server and read different kind of information. I was advised by my manager to look for libraries to do so. He said that there are probably some and if not then you should think how to do it without them. I looked for some and discovered that there are some kind of them but they are for money $$$.
    I need to connect to Exchange Server to read tasks, calendar events and mail. I looked throw the forum and found some topics, but no results. I found a framework which is disributed for free under GNU licence www.omesc.com
    Please, tell me, anybody, is there are any open source free libraried to do that. And if not that can you give me some ideas about how can I connect to Exchange Server and get some information from it.
    I am desperate, I don't know what to do, please anybody help me...

    Hi,
    You can use directly a jndi ldap context if the Ldap connector of your Exchange server is up...
    It worked perfectly for me as anonymous...
    One other way, if you have an active directory, you can connect to it as Ldap with ldap authentication ( mandatory for directory browsing... )
    I hope it helps

  • PALM Z22 HOW TO CREATE CALENDAR EVENTS THEN UPLOAD THEM TO THE PALM Z22

    Hello, I would like to know if anyone can advise me on how to create calendar events in say, excel, and then upload them to my Palm Z22.  The reason I want to create them in excel is so that I can also update the file information to my cell phone as well.
    Thanks for your assistance.....
    Tony
    Post relates to: Palm Z22

    Hello Tony,
    If you want to use Excel, then I would suggest that you export your calendar spreadsheet as a comma separated values (.csv) file and then import that data into the Calendar application in Palm Desktop.  Then Hotsync your Palm.

  • Creating reconciliation events from a flat file--a design question

    Hello,
    I am currently evaluating an existing OIM implementation to rebuild it using OIM 11g and have a question regarding the ideal method to create reconciliation events from a flat file.
    The current implementation is using a web service call to process a flat file and creates the reconciliation events. This runs every hour.
    Although this looks cool but I thought there was no need to go to the extent.
    If OIM cannot consume the flat file directly, meaning if it needs some data massage, I can always load the data from the flat file into an external table, write a pl/sql procedure to transform the data and put it into a temporary global table and create reconciliation events like that.
    What would be the ideal method to load data from a flat file into OIM?
    THanks
    Khanh

    If it's a flat file, then have you looked at GTC option? And why any staging in between? OIM can read flat files just fine either through GTC or write up your own recon code.
