Can't create "new event" in icloud calendar

When I want to create a "new event" this is waht happens. It says "couldn't create an event" because of server error. When I click report this window opens.
It is happening to 4 other people that I know. What is going on with icloud???

I have a client that is getting the same error message when trying to add a new calendar entry at icloud.com.

Can't create new events or todos

I am a frequent iCal / Mac user and have been using my Mac for the last year with no problem.
Yesterday, I was no longer able to create new events or todos, in any calendar. When I click new event or new todo, there is no response (no window pops up, just ignores). When I drag an area in a day to create a new event, it shows the dragged time, then doesn't create the todo
If I create an event or todo on my iPhone, it stays on my iPhone, but does not show up when syncing.
Note all old events are still present. I can move an existing event to the future, so this shows edits are still possible.
Can this be a recent bug from an pushed updated? Has anyone else seen this?
I have rebooted and ensured all SW is up to date.

I am having the same trouble and just realized it yesterday. Can you provide the detailed steps you followed that I could try?
I sync my calendar to MobileMe and my phone and those are both fine - and I've added new things to them since iCal stopped working apparently (guessing it was about a week ago based on things missing from iCal). I'm confused by your comment about backing up iCal - won't that simply end up restoring the same inaccurate data? Or maybe in my case it doesn't matter because the next time I sync it will update with the data I have on my phone and MobileMe (so maybe a dumb question). I already use Time Capsule so I'm guessing I can just use my most recent Time Capsule/iCal file backup to do my restore?
I know very little about Terminal - not even enough to be dangerous! Are you saying in terminal you typed in that exact string you're showing below?

Can,t create new events in ical on Mac book Pro.

This morning when I try to add a new event a pop up appears "This calendar was created by Mail. You can’t add events to a Mail calendar. Mail calendars only contain to do items created in Mail." Ical worked fine yesterday. I have a mobile me acc and can edit the online calendar but not the one on my laptop.

Called Apple fast track support and problem is resolved. User error, for some reason I had selected the wrong calendar - after selecting the proper calendar on the left sidebar I could create events. Apparently at some time I created a 'todo' mailbox. It had nothing in it and I ended up deleting it so it doesn't get selected again in error.
Took 15 minutes to connect with an ICAL specialist. Once connected received excellent support.

Movie disappeared after crash, now can't create New Event

Final stages of creating movie (of course!) and iMovie crashes. When restart, project is missing. Online, found suggestion to delete CurrentVersion.imovieevent and other CurrentVersion. files, which I did. I also moved the project files (inside Movies->iMovie Library (show package contents) to a safe distance. The online suggestion-- which had worked for me before-- recommended this, then: open iMovie, create New Project, quit. Move all the imovie project files into the new iMovie Library folder with the new project name, then re-open iMovie. Project should be there. And it was, last time. But for some reason, now iMovie won't let me create a New Event or a New Project, so this doesn't work.
What is interesting is I completely removed all projects/events from the Movie folder to a different drive, but when I now open iMovie, all of my old movies/projects show up except the one I'm looking for. Where is it finding them? It should open up as new. How do I fix this?
So far, have deleted and re-downloaded and re-installed iMovie 10.0.4 on MacBook Air running OS X 10.9.4 and removed all files from the Movie folder. Opening iMovie shows all my projects for the last several years. I have not deleted anything (only moved items), but the trash has all the CurrentVersion. files still in them. Interestingly, there are no "iMovie Projects" or "iMovie Events" folders anywhere-- all the folders/files seem to be stored in the iMovie Library; to access them I have to Show Package Contents

Can you right-click on a folder name in the Lightroom Folder Panel and select "Show Parent Folder"?
Can you import new photos directly to the desired folder in the desired location?

Well, i have read... that creating an icloud account... and log in successfully... and that will solve the "+" problem... but i don't if you want to try that.. is free though... =D

I am using the Beta Photos. Can I create new events using Photos? If not, is there an equivalent? All the events I had in IPhoto are there but I have not been able to create a new event.

The Events in the Photos sidebar are just Albums created from those events when the conversion to Photos was made. You can create new albums by selecting the photos and using the File ➙ New Album menu option:
The new album will appear just above the Flagged smart album. It can be moved into the folder titled iPhoto Events if you want or wherever else under Album you'd like to have it.

I understand that your calendar events are appearing in GMT on your calendar in Yosemite. This was a fix in iOS 8.2 for iCloud calendars. I would suggest that you make sure all of your devices are updated to the current software release to help resolve the issue.

Can't create new calendar events through Thunderbird

Hi,
I have Lightning installed and hooked up to two Google Calendars, one for actual events (both work and personal) and one for things like local holidays and week numbers (this is a read-only calendar Google's put together).
My issue is that I can't create a new event on my personal calendar through Thunderbird. I can open the "create new event" dialog box no problem, and fill in all the details, but when I hit "Save and Close" nothing happens - the dialog box stays open, and no event is created.
I can create events in a 'local' calendar (e.g. the blank "Home" calendar that Lightning comes with as a default). I can log into my Google calendar through my browser and create events no problem, but then hitting the "synchronise" button in Thunderbird doesn't make them show up (although syncing the calendar app on my android phone, linked to the same Google Calendar, makes the new events created through the browser show up no problem).
The only other information I can offer is that on the Calendar tab in Thunderbird, on the left of the screen, there's list of the calendars my Thunderbird/Lightning has installed/synchronised: "Home" (a local calendar, basically empty but functioning), "Luke John's Calendar" (Google Calendar, the one I'm having the problem with), and "Week Numbers" (Read-only Google Calendar, I don't know if it's possible to create new events on because it's read only). Next to both "Luke John's Calendar" and "Week Numbers" are little (error?) symbols: black exclamation marks in yellow triangles, which give the rollover text "The Calendar [name] is momentarily not available."
Any suggestions for sorting this out? I'd be very grateful!

What does it mean when a subscribed calendar is corrupted?
The files iCal uses to store the calendars (.ics files) are text files. (You can look at one by exporting a calendar from iCal and opening the .ics file with a text editor.) When you subscribe to a calendar you are copying the calendar file to your hard drive. If some information is missing in the file, or the data is ordered in the wrong way, this can lead to iCal not functioning properly.
The error could be on the server or your local copy, from what you write it's hard to tell. You could try subscribing to the problem calendar from another machine to see if it has the same problem.
The usual recommendation for a local calendar (one you created) with this problem is to export and then import the calendar. This means the calendar is re-created from scratch. You can't use this solution with a calendar you are subscribed.

OK, a simple restart of the iPad fixed the calendar problem, but now my contacts are gone!!

I can't add a new event to my calendar on iPhone. The plus sign is greyed out and even when I try it with Siri it says "Sorry. I can't do that right now". I did my due diligence and searched all over the forums and internet and I can't fix this. There was a listing in a forum where a lady had this same symptom but it looks like toggling iCloud worked for her. Not for me. I went into Settings>iCloud and turned off Calendar and then turned it back on. Still nothing. I even went to iCloud Backup and turned it on then back off and still nothing. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

See if you can go to your Calendars App and select a previous event to see what Calendar the event was added to (iCloud or Yahoo). After that is determined you can go to www.iCloud.com or calendar.yahoo.com and add the event there to see if it will populate on your device. Another troubleshooting step is deleting the iCloud account from your device and also deleting the Yahoo account. Then check to see if you can add an event without it syncing to a email. If you can then it may have just been a bug and you can add both accounts back and try adding the event again. I would also recommend only using one service to sync your Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, etc. Such as either iCloud only or Yahoo only, as using multiple accounts means your data is spread around and can be hard to isolate when something goes wrong.

I've lost my iCal calendars and can't create new ones

I've used iCal flawlessly for a long time. Suddenly, though, I noticed that I lost all my indivdual calendars in iCal. I couldn't see any calendar postings in the main calendar until I trashed my pref file from the library and relaunched. Then I would see the individual events created under my "home" calendar, yet I would not see the "home" calendar listed as an option in the left-hand view of calendars. Plus, I now can't create new calendars.
Anybody have any idea what's going on here?

Is this correct: you had multiple calendars; they disappeared from the calendar pane and their events from the main pane; you deleted ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ical.plist; you now have a single calendar (Home) but cannot make more; you can see the events in Home?
Can you add events to Home?
Can you see as many folders in ~/Library/Application Support/iCal/Sources/ as you used to have calendars?
Double-click ~/Library/Application Support/iCal/nodes.plist. Click the black triangle beside the word Root. In the line "List Array ..." how many ordered objects are reported? Does this match your original calendar count?
What have you added/changed/modified recently? Might it have involved any fonts?

Is there a way to create new events on the new iPhoto app?

Is there a way to create new events on the new iPhoto app? I seem to only be able to create albums. I would really like the app to allow me to do all the same things that I was able to do on my Mac. I would create events and then sync to all devices. Can someone please instruct me on how to create new events from the photos imported from the photo stream.

The iPhoto for iOS seems to be aimed at working on photos then sharing them to social media sites or to iCloud for sharing there. iPhoto for iOS does not perform many of the organizing tasks that iPhoto on your Mac does. Many people expected that there would be more capabilities in iPhoto for iOS that would allow it to work more closely with iPhoto on your computer but this is not the case. They are separate apps.

I cant create new events in iCal on my Mac or display them

Since a few days ago after upgrading to Lion when I want to create a new event it
dosent show up in my calender. All the old events is shown and when I create an
event for example on my iPhone and sync with iCal on my Mac I can see the
new event.
I click in the calender to make a new event, nothing shows up, but when syncing
with my iPhone I can see the new event without any text because I didnt see the
small eventbar to type in or make the right time for the event. Can anybody help
me with this issue?

Can't edit an event in my Calendar.

Yesterday I noticed that I can't edit an event in my Calendar. Also when I type a new event it drops some of the type off when I hit return. And it's not necessarily dropping off the end of the sentence! I'm using OSX10.8.5. The only thing that's different is last week I loaded Adobe CC. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. I've turned off Calendar in iCloud and turned it back on and that didn't fix anything. Any suggestions?

Unable to create new events in iCal

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS7, and now when I try to create a new event in iCal, nothing happens. I am able to tap the "+" and enter the event information, but when I tap "Done", no new event appears in the calendar.
If I, instead, create the event in the Calendar on my PC, the phone syncs with Outlook, and the event appears on the phone's iCal app.
Why am I suddenly unable to create new events on my phone in iOS7, and how can I fix this issue?

Thanks! I've noticed the phone has been a bit "clunky" since the update too. Did you experience the same thing & did the hard restart help?
