  • Can I create folder in my iPod

I have 30GB iPod and finding it difficult to manage music songs.
1.Can I create folders inside my iPod? If yes, how many levels?
2.Can I create Playlist inside playlist? I want to manage my songs in different levels.
    Eg:
    Created a Playlist : MyFavSongs
Added all music files to above playlist MyFavSongs
so the path in my iPod is:
    Music->MyFavSongs-><List of all songs>
Can I create something of this path
    Music -> HitEnglighSongs -> MyFavListOfSongs1-> <List Of Songs>
    Music -> HitEnglighSongs -> MyFavListOfSongs2-> <List Of Songs>
    If yes, how?
    thanks,
    -Rajeev

You can create a Smart playlist to contain songs just as you would create folder.
Where the songs are maninained (folders) shoul be transparent/irrelevant to the user as long as you can view/listen/sort them.
If you want all songs of Genre Rock, add that as a criteria in the Smart playlist.
If you also want to include all Meat Puppets music, add that as a criteria.
And include only songs in these that are only 5 star rated.
And yes, you can include a "sub" playlist.
Make a new smart playlist and simply have the first criteria Playlist is the one created above.
Mkae the nxt criteria whatever you want.

  • Can't create playlist folders on ipod classic 120gb

    Hi Everyone!
I have an ipod 120gb classic since Jan. and have synced music on it and have it organized with folders and then playlists in them. Now I am trying to add more music and can't create new folders. I highlight my ipod, click on File>New Playlist Folder and it creates one in the itunes playlist area instead. I can click on File>New Playlist and it will create one on the ipod (not in the itunes area like the folder one does.) I can drag playlists from itunes and drop them on the ipod. But when I try to drag an itunes playlist folder with playlists in it, just a playlist is created with the folder's name. On the ipod it will not have the songs in playlists, just in abc order. I honestly don't remember how I did create the folders I do have, but I don't know of any other way than what I'm doing now.
I called Apple support and the guy spent over 30 minutes with me (after I searched high and low through the discussion forum.) He tried on his end and was getting the same results. I even tried reinstalling itunes and did a reinstall of an earlier version of itunes and all that entailed with negative results.
If there's anyone out there than can help me I would greatly appreciate it because I do not like to have my music in lists but organized in folders on my ipod such as Pop, Country, Romantic, etc. I know this ipod can organize into folders since I did it earlier
    Thanks!!

    Hi Everyone!
First thanks to you Jeff for your help also. I have now resynced (is that a word? LOL) my ipod with folders that way I want. From the replies I got I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong which wasn't the way itunes worked and the way I thought it should Part of my problem was that I had too big of a time span between syncings of my ipod, I had changed my itunes playlist, and I must have used my desktop computer to first load some of the songs rather than my laptop. So when the message came up when I had to change my settings I paniced when it said it was going to erase everything. Your comments sure did help jog my memory since I am a fairly new classic ipod owner!
So for those of you who would like your music sorted into folders and then your separate playlists in them, this is what I'm now doing (translation--what I learned to do!) 1. In itunes make your playlist folder, and then copy each of the playlists you want in it. Ex. folder-Christmas; playlists in it--The Chipmunks Christmas, Mannheim Steamroller Christmas Eve, etc. Do that for each kind of folder you want. (I ended up with 17 different folders!) 2. Connect your ipod and select to sync selected playlists, not manual. Go to the music tab and check sync music, selected playlists, making sure everything is checked that you want to sync including the folders themselves. 3. Disconnect your ipod when it says its completed. 4. When you want to sync additional music or folders put them in the itunes playlist. connect your ipod, make sure your setting is still on sync selected music. 5. When you click on the music tab make sure everything is checked that you added new and also the music that is already on your ipod. When itunes syncs it, only the new music will be added so the time will be only for the new stuff.
Lesson learned--Keep your itunes playlist area exactly the same as you want it on your ipod and keep the setting at sync selected playlists making sure everything is always checked that should be on the ipod.
Again, thanks for listening and I hope this helps others as well.
    Have a Great Summer!

I have an iPod video, and I want to know if it is possible to create folders in the iPod, other than the ones allready there.
    e.g.
In the audiobook folder would it be possible to make a folder called "Harry Potter", to put all my harry potter audio books in?

  • Siri says she can't create reminders for me

siri responds to my reminder asks me to confirm and then when she trys to create the reminder she says she can't create the reminder

As far as troubleshooting goes, this is the only article that's avaliable on siri http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4079
Remember, Siri is still in beta testing and will only improve over time. I would try to turn siri off and then back on, and then turn your device off and then back on. See if that helps

  • Can´t create reminders at february, 26 - 2012

    iOS 5.0.1, app Reminders:
You choose february, 26 in Calendar screen, but when the list appears, it shows february, 25. If you create an appointment, it appears in wrong day.
Maybe is it a bug because the Brazilian summer time? Our summer time ended in this day.

  • How can you create a playlist with music and music video and play those from same playlist through Apple TV?

How can you create a playlist on Ipod touch with music and music video,  and play those from same playlist through Apple TV?  I can download, create a playlist with both music and music video, stream that through the Apple TV with no problem.  The sound and the information show up on the TV, but when it gets to a music video, it only shows the information and "artwork".
I also have a video playlist - videos play fine through the Apple TV, but will not shuffle through all videos - continues to repeat the same one.  I have most definitely selected shuffle in both locations - from the playlist and on the ipod video screen while video is playing.

I finally got it... had to sync the photos with the music in iMovie, arrange the voiceover in GarageBand then export to iTunes, and then I was able to put it all together in iMovie and burn in iDVD... had a few glitches along the way but finally finished : )

  • Can I create a new itunes account and synch my iPod to it?

I have an iTunes account, but have only bought music and apps on it for my son's iPod Touch.
Now I have my own iPod Touch and we want to have separate accounts. I already synched my new iPod to my own account - the one where all his music is.
What can I do at this point to let my son have his own account with all the music/apps he has purchased?
Can I create a new account and synch my iPod to that? Can I change the email address on the first account to my son's email?

Yes but you will need to authorize your computer for purchases on the old iTunes account.

  • I can't create any new reminders on my iPhone 5S with iOS 8.

    Hi.
I have a 16 GB iPhone 5S with iOS 8.1.3. The problem I have is that I can't create any new reminders, at all. The problem started with my iPhone 4 (which I had before this phone), and I was using iOS 7 when the problem arose (but it didn't start immediately after I switched to iOS 7).
One day when I had the iPhone 4, I noticed that all my reminders had disappeared, and that I couldn't create any mew ones because the New List + button is grayed out. I didn't try to fix it until I got my 5S. I got to the "Scheduled" list and was able to type in a reminder (I thought I was a genius). But then when the time I'd set for the reminder actually came around, nothing happened, and when I checked Reminders, the reminder I'd entered was gone.
I tried using Siri to set a reminder but she said she couldn't.
I've tried Googling it, but it just says to press the + button to make a new list, and then start typing.
I recently got a MacBook Air which I synced up to my phone, and all my old reminders from my iPhone 4 are there, and I can create new reminders. Except they don't show up on my phone (which I think they're supposed to do, right?). They do show up on my computer, though.
I've taken to emailing myself things I need to remember, which is fine, I guess, but sometimes they get buried in my inbox.
    Any help would be fantastic!
Also, if you'd like me to clarify anything, I'm happy to do so because I don't know how much sense this makes.
    Thanks so much!

I have exactly the same problem. I discovered it yesterday.
I have a 16 GB iPhone 4 with iOS 7.1.2, just to note that we both are using different devices and different iOS versions. I will add here some screenshots of the problem.

I use my iPod Touch at work using Keynote.  I would like the ability to download my Keynotes via Dropbox on my iPod Touch.

    Yes.

  • How can I create Folders in iPod and keep all bands & artists separate?

    Hi guys,
How can I create folders for different artists and keep them separate? Is it somthing that I need to do in iTunes in my Mac or import them a certain way?
    Anyone please,
    Thanks in advance,
    Zia

If you have the artist information entered in iTunes, then they should already be organized like that on iPod.
    Go to music-->artists

  • My iTunes library is too large for my iPod classic--can I create a separate library so that I can split the current library and sync the distinct libraries onto separate iPods?

    - If the Gmail accounts are IMAP one then if the library is erased and then you use the account old email will be redownload
    - Easing the library on the MacBook does not effect what is on the iMac. On the other hand if you deleted the messages in the Mail app on the MacBook then they will deleted from all devices.

  • Why can't I create FOLDERS under my iPod name in the DEVICES heading?

Note: I have my iTunes set to "MANUALLY MANAGE MUSIC".
I can create Folders, subfolders and playlists under the PLAYLISTS heading.
Under my iPod name in the DEVICES heading, iTunes only lets me create a PlayList. No Folders.
    Questions:
Do I need to AUTO sync to get the folder heirarchy and songs created under the PLAYLISTS heading onto the iPod?
How do I create a Folder under my iPod name in the DEVICES heading? This appears to be a bug and/or another iTunes limitation. I tried it and whenever a new folder is seleted, the folder appears under the PLAYLISTS.

*Why are you creating playlists for albums and artists?*
Why is that relevant? This is an Apple product which, historically, has allowed its users to file information any way they saw fit! Why suddenly impose arbitrary restrictions on how I organize my own data?
+The earlier version of iTunes DID allow you to create folders in the iPod+
    *Only when autosycning*
*You can be frustrated all you want but the feature has not been removed.*
Yes the feature HAS BEEN removed. I currently am holding a prior generation nano in my hand which, in iTunes 6, allows me to MANUALLY create folders in it and drag playlists to the folders. I can nest folders and create any hierarchy I want. Since I am doing it MANUALLY, I can use the same ipod on several computers and collect selected audio files from each of those computers. The new version of iPod/iTunes simply has REMOVED this feaure and it is now only available if you autosynch. Like I said, I currently have free use of folders on an older gen ipod in MANUAL mode.
The software is too concerned with whether you are pirating copyrighted material and does not at all take into account LEGAL use of the iPod! As a matter of fact, I use the iPod to store audio tracks of live presentations and need an easy way to archive these on a single ipod from several computers. The most efficiient way to do this is to MANUALLY transfer the files from each computer to the iPod, and put them in their corresponding folders on the iPod. I have been doing this for over a year on the previous generation nano and iTunes 6 with no sweat. But new iPod required 7.5 iTunes and I can no longer create folders on the iPod in manual mode. This requires a long linear stream of playlists that cannot be organized into category, computer of origin, etc. As such, I can no longeruse the new iPod for my very simple application of archiving/playing non-copyrighted audio files which have no prior id3 info.
    See?
