Can't create the file "navfill-v2.jpg."

I have been using iWeb for over 4 years and have never had a problem until this message suddenly came up when I tried to save my website to a folder on my desktop as I have always done.
Can’t create the file “navfill-v2.jpg.” The disk may be damaged or full, or you may not have sufficient access privileges.   I know this is just a graphic in the background... so what's the problem??
I am using Lion 10.7.5 on my MacBook Pro.   Once I save my website to the folder on my desktop, I use iWebSEO Tool to upload my site via ftp server. It's been flawless until now. I urgently need to make a change to my site as it's my business website and our new summer hours need to be posted.
Please please help!  I have exhausted every avenue on Google - nothing new has been posted for 2 years.   Is there an Apple Help Line for iWeb? Their so called support doesn't support iWeb.  I would really rather not learn an entire new program to create my website.

2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your

Some times all it takes is deleting the .plist to fix this but do the restart and permissions repair if you haven't done this proceedure for a while.

  • Iweb - Publish error - can't create the file "..."

    Hey guys,
I've seen this issue in a couple of discussions but nothing helps. When I try to publish my site I'm getting the following error note:
"Publish error. Can't create the file "...png". The disk may be damaged or full, or you may not have sufficient access privileges."
Same result whether I publish to an ftp or to a local folder.
My disk is far from full and the site is merely a few megas heavy.
The content is just text and a few photos.
I have OS version 10.6.8 and Iweb 3.0.4.
    No passwords involved.
I've tried all the tricks in the book:
Duplicating the page that won't publish.
Re-creating the page that won't publish.
    Deleting com.apple.iweb.plist from home/library/preferences
Moving my site domain to another location, creating a new site and then putting the old one back
    Deleting cache from libray/caches/com.apple.iweb
    I re-installed Ilife
    Reboots
    Banging head repeatedly again wall
Any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it?

  • What's the fix for this error: Can't create the file "feed.xml."

I try to publish my site from iWeb but I get an error which is below.
    Publish Error
Can’t create the file “feed.xml.” The disk may be damaged or full, or you may not have sufficient access privileges.
    Anyone know the fix?

Whether 'feed.xml' is the first file it is trying to upload, indicating a general failure to connect, or whether it's choked at that particular point would be the question. It would be worth your getting an FTP program if you don't already have one - Cyberduck is free - and checking whether any files at all have been uploaded.
Is this the first time you've tried to publish or are you updating an existing site? If it's the first you should check carefully that your settings are correct, in particular the 'path' which varies between different hosts and may be blank or may be something like 'public.html' or 'htdocs' - this would lead to the actual webspace which may not be the root level as you access the FTP server.
You could also try publishing to a local folder - create a special folder somewhere and specify it when setting iWeb to do this, check the contents are OK, then upload the contents of the folder (not the folder itself) using Cyberduck.

    Hi,
I am one of those people who still use iWeb...Recently I received the following message.  Publish Error Can't create the file "shape image_21." The disk may be damaged or full, or you may not have sufficient access privileges.  I did manage to get to iWeb's Library...but don't see a shape image_21.  I did remove 3 shape images but that didn't do it either.
    What do I do?
Please help....first time I've had problems with iWeb...like to continue...
    running on Yosemite imac

    Try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents of the User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder
3 - launch iWeb and try again.

If you're running Mavericks or Yosemite  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:

  • Cannot publish to folder - message says "Can't create the file...."

Can't create the file "Momoola.com." The disk may be damaged, full or you may not have sufficient access privileges.
I havent' changed anything since the last time I published to this folder. I ran Disk Utility and Repaired Permissions in case that was the problem, but I'm still getting the same error message.
Don't think disk is damaged. Have about 7 gigs left on HD, so that's not it.
    Any ideas?

I can offer a shotgun effect fix but don't know if any a definite fix for this. Try the following:
    close iWeb.
delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
    reboot.
    launch iWeb and try again.
If that doesn't help continue with:
move the domain file from your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
launch iWeb, create a new test site, save the new domain file and close iWeb.
go to the your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.

  • HT4075 I don't have any problems merging the documents by dragging, but when I try to save and open afterwards, only the last shown doc was saved, not the combined files I wanted to merge. I tried save and export, how can I create the file after merging?

Hi, I'm having trouble saving the documents when merging in Preview. I don't have any problems merging the pdf documents by dragging them in preview, but when I try to save and open afterwards, only the last shown doc was saved, not the combined files I wanted to merge. I've tried save and export, but none merge the documents after saving... how can I create the file (with all the pdf files) after merging?

That's a comment in the file. It has no effect at all.

  • Publish Error: Can't create the file

Tried the restarting iWeb solution, but have not yet tried restarting computer. If restarting is the only solution, that's going to be mighty inconvenient. Anyone have any other ideas or know why this is happening?
