Can't cut, paste, copy etc

All of a sudden after months of no problems, I can't chose text sections with the mouse, so not change font, cut, copy, paste. Does anyone have an idea? (I'm using Adobe Contribute CS3)

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 to toggle).
You see the orange (on Linux gray) Firefox button if the Menu Bar is hidden, so you need to hide the Menu bar via View > Toolbars, also accessible via Firefox > Options.
If you need to access the hidden Menu bar then press F10 or hold down the Alt key to make the Menu Bar appear temporarily.

Can't Cut & Paste In JavaScript Editor Window

Can anyone help? Can't cut & paste inside JavaScript Editor Window.
I'm using Windows XP Home Edition & Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro

I've had this happen sometimes while having a JavaScript console window open. IT happens after I've had the console open and switched to another application. Then when I switch back to Acrobat, the console is unresponsive. The solution I found was to close the console and open it up again from the menu. Then it's back to working as expected.

Yes you can. You can email a PDF file. You can use iOS file sharing to transfer PDF files. There are PDF apps in the App Store that you can save the files into. iBooks works with PDF files, but it pales in comparison to most of the other PDF apps.
Adobe Reader has a very nice PDF app. Save2 PDF, PDF Forms, PDF Master and many other PDF apps are a available. One app that is highly recommended for PDF file is called GoodReader. You can check all of these apps out in the App Store.

the plan will get over ridden. I think if I publish the current version of the plan with a different name and then perform restoration it will not override the current version of the plan.

I do not understand what you are trying to accomplish. Are you trying to create a duplicate of the current enterprise project, but with a different name? If so, there is one pretty simple way to do this. Open the enterprise project and
click File > Save As. In the Save to Project Server dialog, click the Type pick list and select Template. Edit the name for this temporary enterprise template so that it is different from the project name, and then click the Save button.
In the Save as Template dialog, do not select any of the checkboxes and then click the Save button. When the system finishes saving the project as a template, close the project. Now click File > New > Project Server Template. Select
the template you just saved and then click the OK button. You now have an exact copy of your project, ready for you to save and publish. Hope this helps.

How can I Cut & paste an address from one address book to another on my PC.

My work computer has 3 address books - 1 personal address book, 2 collected address book, 3 work related address book.
After a couple of years I would like to tidy up my address books & cut & paste some of them from here to there. However there seems to be no cut & paste or copy & paste feature that I can locate anywhere????
I can't drag & drop an address from one to another either.
Can anyone please help

Cut and paste a whole contacts information has never available because it entails different components. Cut/Copy and paste has always been available if you are only selecting one part of the information, but this means you have to open a specific contacts Properties.

In the left Directory Pane, select the address book containing the contact you want to move. You should see a list of contacts in the right Contact Pane.
Drag & Drop process:

You can move more than one contact.

Can't cut/paste album art

For some time now I have been adding/changing album cover art by cut/paste from an internet image search and then using "Get Info" to add the art. Now suddenly I can't. I can't get the Paste function to add the art. Has something changed in the last 2 days? Win7 x64, Pro.

I, also, use Chrome. I tried saving the image (.jpg) to my desktop and doing my copy/paste from there with no luck. My audio files are .mp3. All the blank album images I've tried all refuse to accept the paste. I've been having no problems with this update until recently.
Clue 1: I had a problem trying to edit the info on an album because the screen was grayed-out. It turned out to be a user permission problem. When I reset I could revise but I could also cut/paste an image...this album only.
Clue 2: I just tried copying a download directly in iTunes master music file before I added it into iTunes. It came in clean and afterwards I could cut/paste an image...this album only.

QuickTime Player Pro allows editing of nearly any format it can "play". MPEG-1 can be viewed but not edited.

Can I cut/paste my backups to an external hdd and then back to my mac?

Ok, here's my issue and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I have an iPhone6 and my wife has one as well, and we both have iPads.
I have to backup all of these somewhere, and my current device is a Macbook Pro with 250gb SSD.
As you understand, backing up so many things in so little space it almost renders my Macbook useless.
I have read some advice about using sudo commands to make iTunes store the backups in an external hdd.
However, I am not an experienced mac user, and I do not trust myself doing something like that.
What came to my mind, and that's what I want your opinion upon, is the following.
Something that I used to do when I was using a windows pc to keep many different backups, rename them etc.
As far as I understand, when I plug in my iPhone to my Mac, iTunes recognize the device and the last backup of that device.
Then, by pressing "Backup to my pc etc" it only updates that backup and rewrites on it.
My questions:
I backup my iPhone then quit iTunes.
I remove (cut) the backup folder (the one with the huge weird name from the directory library/application support/mobile sync/backup/0604f04blabhblahblah) and paste it on an external hdd where I have tons of space.
When I want to backup my iPhone again, instead of creating a whole new backup that would take a lot of time, if I take the backup folder that I had stored to that external hdd and paste it back to its original place (the directory I mentioned above), will iTunes recognize it and update and rewrite on that backup?
And then again move it back and forth from my mac to my external hdd.
And something even more important.
In case something happens to my iPhone (it falls from the 10nth floor) and I buy a new one, will I be able to "restore from backup" using the same method I mentioned before? Will iTunes recognize the folder?
Sorry for the long text and any mistakes but english is not my mother tongue and I wanted to make sure I would be clear about my questions.
My current backups use more than half of my 250gb internal SSD and along with some apps and other stuff I cannot get rid off I am left with only 50gigs of space which is terrible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can move the iTunes library to the external and use it there.
Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folde rto the external.
Hold Option, launch iTunes, select Choose library... and select the iTunes folder on the external.
iTunes will use the external for everything.You can delete /Music/iTunes/ folder.
FYI: The iTunes media folder is not the (entire) iTunes library.

How can I cut/paste/save Desktop Nature Preinstalled Photos

I really like some of the pre-installed photos that exist in System Preferences for Desktop choices...and am trying to figure out if I can save them to iphoto or cut and paste them elsewhere....When I tried, I couldnt figure it out.
basically, when you go to system preferences/desktop&screensaver/desktop and you have all those pictures under apple - from nature to plants to black/white to abstract etc
Is there a way to save them or cut and paste them if I want to use them somewhere else (such as itunes artwork for example or sende one in an email to somebody)

How can I cut/paste a rasterized PDF?

I have a bunch of scanned-in PDF documents. I want to cut parts out from one scanned-in document and paste it into another scanned-in document. They aren't individual pictures, rather just pieces of the document. I can't figure out how to accomplish this. Everything I read is documenting a PDF that has Text, Pictures, etc, where my document is just one rasterized picture that I want to cut up.
Where am I going wrong?

What you're doing wrong is you're trying to work with PDF files like
they're images. For this kind of work you should use an image editing
application, like Photoshop. Convert the PDF files to images (ore re-scan
the pages, this time to an image format like TIFF), and then do it there.
When done you can create a PDF file from that image.

Could be many things, we should start with this...

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

Can't cut & paste from Firefox into MS Word 2010, but can using MS Internet Explorer

Updated Firefox to most recent version, then installed MS Office 2010 with MS Word 2010. Then attempted to copy and paste a selection from the internet using Firefox as the browser, but when MS Word 2010 was opened, all paste functions were greyed out and non-functioning. Eventually, I closed Firefox and opened MS Internet Explorer to browse the internet and attempted the same copy and paste on the same selection of text on the internet, but when MS Word 2010 was opened, all of the paste functions worked. Seems like MS is blocking the text copy and paste function in MS Word unless the internet browser is MS Internet Explorer. The previous version of MS Word was 2007 and it functioned the same for both Firefox and MS Internet Explorer when internet text selections were copied and pasted into a MS Word document. Operating system is Windows XP with all service packs.

I am having the same problem after upgrading to MS Office 2010. I used to be able to drag a snippet of text from any PDF file to Excel with no problem...now I am unable to do that. What happened?

I just download a movie from an archive site. I chose mpg-1 as the compression and sent it to my movies under applications. I opened it up and the file read .mov. I then opened it up to cut away un-needed parts by using the slider clips. When I got to edit, the cut, paste, copy, trim selection options are grayed out. I have QT Pro and am using QT 7.0.4 I'm a little new at this. What can I do other than opening it in imovie because that keeps the entire file in place. Any ideas?

It is downloaded as an mpeg file but when you used the browser plug-in you apparently chose "Save as Quicktime Movie." That puts a QT or .mov wrapper around the file. If you choose "Save as Source." the downloaded file should be saved exactly as the file was on the sending site.
Even though the file may have a .mov icon it is still an mpeg inside the QT wrapper. QT will not support the editing of the file or allow the export of sound to any new format. QT Mpeg Limitations
