Can't deactivate (stolen computer)

My work laptop was just stolen. On it was installed a copy of After Effects CS5. I still have the original boxed copy that was used to make the install on the missing machine. Now when I try to re-install AE on a new machine, I get a message saying I have reached my activation limit (a co-worker is using the other seat) and it bars me from activating.
When I log into my Adobe account I see that AE is still listed under my registered products but there is no clear way to deactivate without having access to my stolen machine.
I have seen conflicting signals on how to remedy this, or if it is indeed even possible:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1189905
I need to know what I must do to kill my old activation so that I again have access to the second AE seat.

Hi n.hoffenheimer,
It is possible to deactivate/adjust however that needs to be done by our Adobe support team, please contact Adobe support either via Chat or Phone: http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
Thanks!

  • How can I deactivate a computer in iTunes if I don't have access to it? Computer crashed and now I'm at my limit of 5 and can't add my new computer

I'm trying to upgrade the iOS for my iPad 2 and I can't because it will delete all my purchased apps since the computer I'm using can't be activated. My old desktop has no access to the Internet anymore and my laptop is fried so I don't have the ability to deactivate either of them. iTunes says that I've reached my limit of 5 and I have no idea what the other three are, but I need to activate my new laptop so that I can upgrade the iOS on my iPad. How can I deactivate computers that are either not online or dead?

    1. open itunes
    2. click "itunes store" on left side
    3. click "account" on right side
    4. login
    5. click "deauthorize all" button
this will obviously deauthorize all computer associated with your account, then you can re-add the ones you need afterwards.
note: i've heard (i dont know this for a fact) that you can only do this once per year.

  • How can I deactivate a computer from iTunes if I haven't got that computer anymore?

I need to activate a new computer, but have already activated 5 computers. I need to deactivate a computer that I know longer have. How can I do this?

You can only individually deauthorise computers directly on them, but if you've reached the 5 computer limit then you can de-authorise all (which you can do once every 12 months) by logging into your account and you can then re-authorise those that you still have and need : authorising / de-authorising.

In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • How can I deactivate one computer, so I can install Audition CC on another computer?

Not knowing I had to 'deactivate' Audition CC from one computer to put it on another one, I deleted all the Audition CC files from this computer before deactivating it.  Do I need to re-install before I can deactivate?
    Thanks.

If contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone they can help with deactivating the uninstalled application.
Here is a link to a page with options to help make contact:

You are allowed to have activated installations on two machines, so you did not have to dectivate on the other machine if that is the only one you had installed the software on.

  • How can I deactivate a computer when i do not have it anymore?

Hi, I have used all of the 5 computers that I can authorize for my ipod and all of those computers have since died.  Is there a way to deauthorize a computer without having the actual computer to do it from?
I do not want to delete all of them because my ipad is connected to my account (that is the only one that I still have), but I want to transfer all of the music from my ipod to my itunes account so I can put on my new iphone.
    Thanks!

  • How can I deactivate a computer if it is no longer functioning

My boss Purchased Adobe Reader X standard from a third party and had it installed on her PC and the Secretary PC. The Secretary PC has since had a Hard Drive Failure and was not recoverable. When installing on the new PC registration would not work because the License was already in use on 2 pcs.  Since I can not launch Adobe on the Failed HD how may I disable this computer so I can Register it to the Replacement PC?

    Just a few things...

There is no Adobe Reader Standard and Adobe Reader is free and does not require activation.

If you are referring to Adobe Acrobat Standard, that is against the terms of use. Yes, you can have it on two machines (workstation and a portable) but it's only supposed to be used by one person.
Adobe Acrobat activations issues need to be taken up with Adobe themselves. Users here cannot reset activations. You may have some issues with that since you are outside the terms of use.

  • How to deactivate an account on a stolen computer

Hello, my computer was stolen and now I am trying to install the CS6 Design and Web Premium on my new computer, when the system tells me to put my serial number in, it says it is incorrect, I think this is because the Suite is still installed on the stolen computer, I want to deactivate that account so I can install and activate it on my new one.

You are allowed to have two machines with activated installations, so if you only had the one then the problem might be you are using the wrong number.
To get the lost installation deactivated you need to contact Adobe Support thru chat and ask them to reset your activations.  Then you will again have the two your license provides for.
For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

  • Can you deactivate a stolen ipod?

Can you deactivate a stolen iPod with a serial number so it can no longer be used?

If you used 'Find my iPhone' then you can log into the app on an iOS device or access it from icloud.com on a computer. The application will let you wipe and lock an iPod Touch remotely.
Other than that there's no way Apple can 'deactivate' a device.

What version of Premiere Elements is still installed activated on the old computer (what is your old operating system)?
What version of Premiere Elements are you going to install and activate on your new computer (what is your new operating system)?
Before you do anything, how many of your computers now have the same Premiere Elements purchased/activated serial number installed on them - just that one old one?
The answers to the above might help us to help you so that you do not have to contact Adobe.

  • I recently got a new computer because my old one wouldn't let me open creative suite 3 after it generated a error and now I can't deactivate the key to activate it onto my new account.

I recently got a new computer because my old one wouldn't let me open creative suite 3 after it generated a error and now I can't deactivate the key to activate it onto my new computer. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

You are allowed to have two activted installations, so if the first machine is the only machine with an activated installation there is nothing prohibiting you from installing and activating on the new machine.
You can contact Adobe Support thru chat to have the old installation deactivation.
