Can't decide between the iphone or ipad as my first apple product. Is there a difference other than phone and size?
A couple of differences:
iPad native apps
Interactive e-books with multi-touch and 3D support (in iBooks 2)
Layouts (kind of merges with iPad apps, Music/Settings, etc. all look different)
Wi-Fi only models, no contracts
iPads are unlocked by default (3G models)
As paul said, I would really wait for the next iteration of iPad. That's what I'm doing

I can't decide between the 20" and 24" iMac C2D
Hey all...
I am in the process of selling my Power Mac G5 Dual 1.8GHz with 2GB of RAM as I want to move to an iMac C2D. I keep flip flopping between the 20" and 24". The only upgrade I would get for either would be bumping the memory to 2GB. The price delta between the two is $500. That additional $500 buys me a larger screen, better video and better speakers. I am also leveraging my daughter's educational discount.
I don't use my Mac for business. I use it for email, web browsing and research. In addition, I am a heavy iLife user, except for Garage Band. I use iTunes and iPhoto a lot. I also import movies into iMovie and iDVD. It will be used every day after work for about 3 hours and a lot on the weekends.
My Power Mac is running fine and has served me well for the last two years. I figured I'd sell it while I can still get some decent money for it (my eBay auction ends tonight!).
I just really want an iMac. There is something to be said for using a Mac with an Apple display. My G5 was connected to a Dell 2005FPW 20" widescreen. I also have two AMD based machines running Windows/Linx connected to my new Dell 2407WFP 24" widescreen and it is almost too big! Those are used for gaming, development, virtual machines, etc.
Is the 24" overkill? I don't know. It looked beautiful last night in the Apple Store.
Thoughts. Comments? Suggestions?Hi there. I recieved mu 24" imac on Thursday this week having sent back my 20" as soon as the 24" came out. It was the best decision i ever made. I do alot of photo retouching and editing as I am a photographer and have only just started playing with the computer. The screen makes a massive difference, not only for photo's but for all other things, it enables you to keep windows open at a good viewing size and see them all on screen at the same time.
I know its a difficult decision as had to convince my girlfriend that it was worth the extra cost, but i am so glad to have done it.
The 20" was lovely and a fantastic size, the extra 4" is a worthy investment.
I was worried it was overkill also, but after using it today fully for the first time i could not imagine having a smaller screen.
Hope this helps, using Photoshop and Aperture means i really appriciate the extra space, but when i browse the web the pages do tend to look a little lost!! ;o)

Can't decide between the 1st gen and 2nd gen 32GB iPod Touch, please help.
I would like to buy a 32GB iPod Touch, the problem is that i can't decide whether i should buy a 1st gen or 2nd gen.
Obviously 2nd gen is "better" but is it worth the extra $$$?
Best Buy has the 1st gen for $310 and the 2nd gen is $400, that's $90 difference.
Any advice would be appreciated.that's $90 difference.
Actually, it's only $80 because the 1G touch will come with the old 1.x software and it cost $10 to upgrade to 2.x software. -
I have two IPhones and one IPad all with the same Apple ID. I can call facetime between the two IPhones, but I cannot call the IPAD from either of the IPhones and when I call my IPhone from the IPad it rings my wife's IPhone after briefly calling mine.
Each device needs a separate address. Use an email address (gmail.com) on the iPad.

I should say that you can add the other account to each device as a seconday account by going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud and signing in with the ID the other device is using. This would allow you to see mail, contacts, calendars, reminders and notes from the other account alongside the same data from the primary account on each device.

I Can't Decide between a iPod Touch (5th Generation) or a iPad Mini 2
I'm looking for an apple product from Christmas. Originally the iPad Mini came to mind then I saw the Mini 2 and I also a iPod Touch. So I can't decide between a 32GB iPod Touch 5th Gen or a 32GB iPad Mini 2.
You see one of the reasons I liked the Mini was the size factor for games and music but them I said to myself that's too big for listening to music on my daily commute. So I really don't know. If it helps I already have an iPod Touch 4th Gen but it's 16GB and the charging socket only works sometimes.I would get the Mini because the design of the 5G iPod is over two years old. It will max out iOS updates before the the Mini will.
But the desire for a smaller device may be more important. -
I had to erase my hard drive and reinstall ox snow leopard. when i try to sync my Iphone or Ipad it says that my device was synced with another computer and I will loose my songs on the Iphone or ipad and it will be replaced by the library that is on my computer now. The library is empty since I had to erase the hard drive. Can anyone help?
1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone/iPad but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone/iPad with it.

I can't seem to decide between the 13" or the 15" MacBook Pro. I had a 14.5" I'm just used to that size. Dell which crashed on me for the third and last time. It was also my primary home computer. Is the 15" necessary or should I just get the 13"? I probably won't be doing any graphics or anything like that.
It is really a matter of your personal preference. You have to choose between the extra carrying convenience of the smaller machine and the greater "real estate" of the bigger. I use a 15", and have not found it inconvenient for carrying, even on aircraft, where it has to share backpack space with an SLR camera and assorted lenses.

What are the differences between the iPhone 6 and the iPad Air 2 camera?
The title says it all. One of my daughters works at Apple Austin, Tx and she recently purchased the iPhone 6+. She is a wonderful photographer and has a lot of professional camera gear. I am a retired photog myself and after seeing some of her photographs I was blown away by the results from her cell phone camera. That thing is more like a camera that happens to have a phone built in.
So, naturally I began to wonder what the differences are between the iPhone 6+ and the iPad Air 2 camera's. Interesteding question I think. For once I thought of posting a question here before spending a few hours looking up the answer myself. iPhone Local Storage "My iPhone" - How do you create this folder for use by the Notes app on a iPhone or iPad? If I want to keep some notes only on my device and not in a cloud environment associated with an e-mail account. I've seen reference to the "My iPhone" local storage put no mention on how you create this folder or access this folder within the Notes app. I realize storing information in a local storage like this provides no syncing between other iDevices but that is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm running iOS7.0.4 on a iPhone 5S, and a iPad Air. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you go to Settings > Notes > Default Account you will see "On My iPhone" as the default account and the only choice if you have not enabled syncing Notes in Settings >iCloud or Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. If you have enabled syncing you can still select "On My iPhone" as the default account. When you are in the Notes app you won't see any accounts listed if you have not enabled syncing because they are all in the On My iPhone account and that is the only place possible. It is not a folder that you create.

What are the functional differences between the iPhone and the iPod Touch, barring of course the differences in service requirements.
For one, their form factors are slightly different as the iPhone has a bit more squarish body whereas the iPod Touch has a tapered back to it.
The iPhone also has much better front and rear cameras. Exact details as to the difference in megapixels depends on whether or not you talking about the iPhone 4 or 4S. If you would like to get more details, you can always view

If the device has the same Apple ID signed onto the iTunes & App Store, then you can download any apps purchased under that Apple ID to that device.
I thought you were asking about a game and game statistics being shared between two devices with two separate players. What I said about that is that if it is under the same ID, then the game is going to have the same statistics on both devices, and any updates to those would be reflected in both places. So, two different players wouldn't be able to have separeate statistics if they were playing under the same Apple ID.
