Can't deinstall, restore or install iTunes

I've got a problem with deinstalling or restoring my old version of iTunes (7.0.0.70)
when ever I try to deinstall or restore the old version I et an error saying:
*invalid drive J:\*
and after that an error saying something about an unrestorable fault during installation (sorry, it's in dutch)
after which there's nothing done.
I tried installing a new version but I get the same error about the invalid drive.
I can't connect my iPod to the computer anymore because iTunes doesn't find it now.
The old program itself works ok, but because of a new version and the problem with the iPod I wanted to try a new iTunes. This was recommended by apple...
I really need some help because Apple told me to find an answer at microsoft.com and tey said I should get an answer at apple.com...

This problem often responds to cleaning up your installer files.
Here is a method for removal of iTunes and installer cleanup with the microsoft installer cleanup utility:
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime

Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program

Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:

If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
If it does, install iTunes

Can't update/restore after intalling itunes 7.0 or see ipod in source list

I have a complicated issue. I just installed itunes 7.0 and my ipod won't show up in the source list (which had been a problem before with 6.0). Thinking this had to do with my Toshiba laptop, I disabled my high-speed usb port. But one of the later steps (to fix the toshiba problem) is to open the ipod updater and then restore the ipod. I can't do either of these because for some reason my updater is the 6.0 version still and gives me an error saying it's no longer supported and i have to use itunes to update (which I can't). I don't know what to do! I need help!

I had issues trying to update my ipod (60g) after upgrading to itunes 7. Finally figured it out!!! I had to disable my Norton internet security - firewall and everything worked fine!!! It took maybe 10-15 mins to update the ipod to version 1.2 - then another 30 minutes to upload all my podcasts. I have no idea why it uploaded each one. Almost like during the update to version 1.2 - my podcasts (only the podcasts) were deleted and then reloaded again. Weird!!!
SO... hopefully you have a firewall that you can disable for about maybe 30 mins - just enough time to let the ipod update then you should be good. took me 4 friggin days to figure this one out!!!!

I CAN'T upgrade uninstall or install iTunes...Help?

Every time I try to upgrade iTunes to 9.2 or I try to uninstall iTunes or download it and install it again it shows a error message saying that itunes.msi is missing so i can't do it and neither I can run iTunes because it shows an error i got my iPhone and i really want to upgrade to the new software.
Can anybody help me please????

These sorts of msi-related troubles have gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for *at least version 3.0* of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes 9.2 again. Does the install go through properly this time?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

8.1 can't shut down after installing itunes

I recently reformatted and did a clean install of window's 8.1
I have done all updates, both windows and drivers and the machine is very smooth and stable.
After installing iTunes the computer will no longer shut down, it displays the logging off / shutting down screen but then just reboots.
I have attempted numerous resolutions to no avail, i.e. disabled NIC as bootable device, disabled the hybrid boot feature & flashed and tweaked some BIOS settings.
The computer will not even shut down when I give the command "shutdown /s /t 0"
I only had Windows Office and iTunes installed on the computer and suspecting that iTunes may be the culprit, I uninstalled it and now the computer shuts down without any issue.
I have since read several threads about iTunes and shutdown/restart issues with 64 bit versions of Windows although I have not found anyone else with my exact issue.
Is anyone aware of a resolution for this?
For now I will need to install iTunes so I can sync my phone and then uninstall so I can shut down!

Fingers crossed there will be an update for this, I was lucky that my install so was new that there weren't very many things that could have caused it because I don't think it would have ever occurred to me that iTunes was the issue.
I literally tried every other possibility before waking up in the middle of the night and realizing that the problem started right after I installed iTunes.
I have had issues with Apple software in the past where I attempt to disable it from launching automatically when I boot the computer and it will simply create another entry for itself in the startup list.
If I disable that one it makes another, and another and another.... It's like the freaking Apple hydra.
The want me to know how much I need them! lol

After installing itunes 11.1 and joined the crowd that can't manage old podcasts. Where can I find a download for Windows 32 bit itunes version 11.0 or later?

AMD can not work at first install itunes

I've just reinstalled my laptop. And i installed Itunes 10.5.1, but it said "Service 'AMD' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services". So how can i fix that? Thank you.

Can´t use Bluetooth efter installing itunes

Iv just bought an iphone. After i installed itunes i couldn´t use my bluetooth mouse. I have now deleted itunes and all the other programs. Is there any one els who have had the same problems? I´ve tried to install new bluetooth drivers but it doesent work.

Try Going to System Preferences > Sharing > and check Bluetooth Sharing on both computers.

The file is none existent. I can't get past this when I try installing, uninstalling or repairing.

Do the following, go here and install the MS cleanup utility.

Then run it and select itunes.
Then delete the itunes folder in c:\program files\
Then reinstall itunes.
Of course the question might be how did that file disappear. I hope you didn't delete it. As you found it its needed to do uninstalls and repairs.

Can't sync nano since installing itunes 10 - "unknown error"

I haven't been able to sync any music to my 5th gen nano since updating to itunes 10 - it tells me something like "ipod cannot be synced - unknown error", or else just refuses to acknowledge the sync at all. The strange thing is, when I connect my ipod to itunes, the songs I've tried to sync appear in my ipod library under 'devices' (itunes seems to think they HAVE been synced), but when I check my ipod, they're definitely not there.
I've tried reinstalling itunes and reloading my library, but it's made no difference. My ipod software is up to date as well.
Any help would be great, as troubleshooting doesn't seem to cover this issue.

Okay it turns out that this is an error 13019, yet itunes support seems to think this error only occurs when syncing to an iphone or ipod touch, not a nano....! So it doesn't suggest any fixes for the nano.
And I tried an earlier version of itunes but the error still occurred, so I guess it has nothing to do with itunes 10 after all.
I've read about 'restoring' the ipod to get rid of this error, but will this delete all music on the ipod? I have music on there that I no longer have anywhere else so it would be a shame to have to lose it just because apple can't offer a better fix.

Help can't uninstall, fix, or install itunes!

Ive tried following some of the other samples on here, but their just not working! I tried deleteing the files ect (which the computer wouldn't let me becuase they were being used somewhere else on my computer), and still NOTHING! When I try to do anything I get the same error:

Can't download podcasts after installing iTunes 7

I have a 6 gig nano, was using iTunes 6 for a long time and built a huge list of podcasts that updated daily. After upgrading to iTunes 7 none of my podcasts will download. If you hit the refresh button they all just post that icon next to the title looking like they are updating but none of them are.
I've uninstalled/reinstalled a number of times. I'd tried each of the updates that have come out. After I do a fresh install it updates the podcasts once, but if I hit refresh again it stops all of them and won't continue updating them.
Any ideas?

I have had a problem with iTUNES 7 downloading podcasts as well. If I select more than a couple at a time to download, windows crashes and reboots. Upon rebooting, when I try to re-download the same podcasts, I get the exclamation point icon next to the podcast indicating a network connection issue. What I have to do to resolve it is go to My Documents/My Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Downloads/Podcasts then delete the folder that is named after the podcast. Restart iTunes and then the download works again. I think the guilty file is actually in that folder named (xxx).plist. I still don't understand why iTunes crashes like this though.
