Can't delete a contact in Contacts. It only beeps when 'delete' is pressed.
Since setting my contacts to use iCloud to sync with my iPad2 Contacts won't let me delete any contact. When I press 'delete' (on the MacBook Pro) it just beeps at me. I tried turning off/on iCloud, but no change. I see "On My Mac" and "iCloud" contact groups with the same problem on both.

Same problem here. I have inactivated iCloud contacts, eliminated google contacts, and have only contacts associated with an Exchange account. From Contacts on my macbook running Mavericks, whether I select one contact or select all, the option to delete is grey, and using the delete key results in a beep.
I can delete individual cards from iPhone contacts, however. Exchange directory is also only available from iPhone.

We have several portable devices and a mini mac on our system and have found that if we delete an email on one device it is removed from others.
We don't want this, but at the same time we need to keep our devices clear of clutter.
It was suggested that switch off the sync mail switch in settings - Icloud, but this only works on IPads & Ipods

Delete song from playlist and library: only by Shift+Delete ? No right-click menu ?
Am I missing this function somewhere in the drop-down menu, when you right-click on a song from a playlist ?
I see only the "Delete" action, which only removes the song from the playlist, not from the library.
Same as pressing the Delete key on the keyboard.
Shouldn't there be both actions: "Delete From Playlist", and "Delete From Library" (the second one implies it is
also deleted from this playlist and from any other playlist).
And why is Shift-Delete not documented in the Help / Keyboard shortcuts ?If you are deleting from a playlist and you want to delete for the library as well, you have to press shift and delete.

All of a sudden today, I started getting a beep when deleting programs. It happens whether alerts are enabled or not. I don't even think the DVR reset itself. Is this something new, or am I the only one who never noticed this?

hi, updated my iphone where in the middle of updated the screen showed i must connect to itunes. after connecting to itunes my iphone was updated but everything was deleted. was first time on itunes , so have no backup. can i recover my pics and contacts? please help

Every time one of my email addresses doesn't work on my mail app, due to wrong password or whatever, it deletes all of the contacts form my phone. What can I do to stop this from happening?
I have tried deleting the account and it deletes all my contacts. I have verizon and even using back up assistant, it says the contacts are there but they aren't. The only way i can find a contact is if I start to type a name in and new text but once i sent the new text, the name disappears and it just shows the number. Siri nor the address book don't recognize any contacts at all.I cant find any reciept in my email or in my husbands email. I am going to attempt to call and speak to someone who can help me because this was not my fault except trying to be normal and update my phone!

I want to delete a few contacts, apps, pics etc from my iphone, but when I delete and connect to my laptop they sync and come back again. How can I delete those items and not get them back when I connect my iphone to my laptop?

you'll see a pop-up and there's a tab called 'Devices' there. If you click that, you will be able to check a box that says 'prevent automatic syncing for iPods, iPads and iPhones' or something like that.

NB: if you don't even see the menu bar that has options like 'File, Edit, View, etc', first click the black/white square button on the top left of your screen, and then click 'show menu bar'. It should pop right up.

i recently updated my iphone 4s to ios7, and it has now deleted 400 of my contacts not impressed. theres no way i can get them back now this is the last updated i will be doing through apple, and probably the last apple product i will ever own lol. Has this happened to anyone else? I tried some basic troubleshooting things like trying to locate it through i cloud but i dont use i cloud, and the access to my contacts pics etc through icloud was turned off so was the access for everything else so why the **** did they just disappear?
It generally happens every time you update a whole number. For instance, updating from iOS 5 to 6, from iOS 4 to 5, from iOS 3 to 4, and so on.
That's why Apple strenuously suggests that you back up your information. And why they provide two ways to back up your information, so that way if you lose it (by updating or restoring your device) you can get it back using either iTunes or iCloud.

There is a checkbox on the 'info' tab in iTunes that will allow you to overwrite the address book on the phone with the one from the computer on the next sync.

On new IOS 7, when I message contacts, it selects thier old contact number, despite the fact I have deleted/edited their number in my contacts list. Only by going through contacts, can I message the correct number. The old number does not appear there, so I am unsure where "messages" is picking up the old number, it doesn't appear that "messages" is synching with "contacts". Any ideas how to fix this?

How do I view and manage certain files that I have stored in iCloud? I know that I can delete an entire backup, but is it possible to delete certain photos/contacts/notes etc. from that backup?

Since I have udated my iPhone to 5.0.1. I can not chance or delete any of my contacts! The choice "change" has disapeared! Is there someone to have an idea what is going on?
Try Settings>iCloud>Contacts>ON it may resolve your problem and enable the + / edit.
