Can't delete a document in printing queue

Any others I submit won't print, but I can delete them from the queue. Just one I can't get rid of so I can print again. Can you help?

What printer model? What operating system?  You might try the HP Print Diagnostic Utility, it can correct many of these kinds of issues.

Go to www.hp.com/go/support and download the Print Diagnostic Utility and save and run it. It will diagnose your printer until it reaches the PRINT QUEUE test and will ask you if you want to clear it. Click FIX to clear or delete it.

  • Office Jet 5510 All in One - Why Can't I delete a document from the queue?

    Hi,
In what is becoming an infuriatingly more frequent problem, my printer is jamming up when feeding the paper. When I clear the paper, the document in the printer queue (, or however you spell that) is stuck there, it won't delete, even after rebooting the computer, and it won't finish printing. I'm getting sick of deleting the printer from my computer and re-installing it, there must be something else I can do when this happens. If anyone can tell me what that is, I'll be eternally grateful.
    Thanks,
    Chris

HP is continually updating and adding additional features to the Print Diagnostic Utility.
The latest release can always be found here: HP Print Diagnostic Utility
If you use the PDU, please consider giving HP your feedback so the HP Engineering team can continue adding features to improve the utility. You'll find a link to the feedback survey in the utility itself.

I have followed the printer troubleshooting guide and it still  remains "deleting"....I left both the printer and laptop on all night, woke up this morning and it is still indicates deleting. I have tried everything even over and over again, however I cannot get these documents out of the queue so I can't print anything. Please help.

  • Officejet Pro 8600 - Can't remove canceled job from print queue

    Hi there
I canceled a print job from the print queue, but it refuses to budge! Everytime I try to remove it, I get this message:
I can print other documents, but it's very irritating having this here all the time (and a big red blob on my dock icon announcing a phantom print job).
Can anyone help me rid myself of this spectre of print purgatory?
    Cheers!

Try downloading and running the HP Print and Scan doctor. This software is able to remove phantom print jobs for you automatically. The program can be downloaded from here.
As well, for Windows based computers, restarting the computer can also help with this issue oftentimes. Hope this helps.

  • Print command does not place document in print queue

    VISTA OS;   HP Photosmart 7510
A cntl-P or File/Print command will momentarily prompt a printer icon at the lower right of the screen.   However that "printer" holds no documents.   The printer icon soon disappears.   The Printer window shows the correct printer, checked (indicating default printer) and with an icon in the lower left indicating connected to a network.   Printer connected to the same network.    Can't get a document to stay in the queue long enough for it to reach the printer over the network!

  • Stalled documents in printer queue

I'm running Windows 7. My printer is a HP CP1215. I have a CP1215 and it shows in Devices and Printers. It has two stalled documents in its queue that will not delete.  How do I clear all these jobs out of queue?  The status of both jobs is  "deleting..." I've turned the printer on and off several times.

Hi,Try following the HP Print and Scan Utility below by selecting Fix Printing, it should automatically clear any item from its queue:http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Nav?h_pagetype=s-926&h_lang=en&h_client=s-h-e016-1&h_keyword=dg-PDU Regards,Shlomi

  • How can I create more than one printer queue for a printer

I would like to have more than one "default" setting for my printer.  This is so I can use a 3rd party print utility (fingerprint) to print to a non-airprint printer from my ipad.  The utility prints using the default configuration.  I don't need to get fancy here.  Just "draft B&W' , "normal", and "Color best quality".  If I need something else, I can always email the document to my MacBook.  The utility has something about a virtual printer, but all I could find about that is that it is used for PDF printing and maybe a workflow.

  • Can't delete a document in Word 2007

I have Windows 7 and Office 2007.  I want to delete a 6 page document which I created.
When I attempt this action, I get the following message:
"This action can't be completed because the file is open in MS Office Word."
I am quite sure the file is not open.  I can delete other documents.

Check if any other application is running and is using this doc.
    check task manager
    check opened sessions /files
    Work around.
Modify the document and save it as another name for example  file1 save as file2, rename file1 and delete it.

  • How can I delete completed jobs in printer window?

I cannot delete any completed jobs in the printer window. There are now 265 completed jobs sitting there. How can I delete them? Delete button doesn't do it. Is there another way?

I don't have any direct suggestions for you, but I may be able to point you to an older thread where you might find a potential solution. Check this older thread out.

  • Can't delete a document that is declared a record (because I can't undeclare record)

We use in-place records management with regular document libraries. Users declare/undeclare records all day long.
I came across something strange where a document that was declared a record cannot be deleted. Typically, I can just undeclare the document (through Compliance Details) and then delete the document. When I try to undeclare, I click the Undeclare link (and
then refresh), but the document does not actually undeclare (the item still shows up as a record). I also tried undeclaring/deleting via PowerShell, but I constantly get the error: "...locked read-only"
Thoughts on how to get rid of this document?

can reproduce what you describe, the key point is that:
when you declare a document as record, it is a HTTP post command to the SharePoint document library allitems.aspx page.
after you undeclare the record, you might want to check the status of the document by refreshing the page, it will prompt you message like:
To display the webpage again, the web browser needs to resend the information you've previously submitted. If you were making a purchase, you should click cancel to avoid a duplicate transaction. Otherwise, click Retry to display the webpage again.
So, if you click Retry, another HTTP post command is sent and the document is declared as record again.
The correct way is to navigate to another page and navigate back again, you will see the document undeclared status.
