Can't delete a song on my song list

I was sent a song through bbm, and then deleted it right after listening to it
Suddenly, the song title reappears on my song list..
AND when i try to listen/click on it, the next song plays (next song on the list)
ive checked the miniSD card. the track is not there
why is it still on my song list?
why can't i delete the song title off?

Have you tried taking out the media card to see if the song still appears in the list?

Apologies Brandon, we have moved on somewhat from your original question.
What I have done is effectively used Michael's idea. I'll try to explain a little further.
You can run iTunes match on up to 5 computers, and you can edit the iCloud library on any of them. Michael's idea works on the basis that, whilst you can edit the iTunes library, you can't remove songs from other computers.
I have basically the same setup as you, but I also have a MacBook Air, which is running iTunes Match but without any music downloaded so it all streams.
I added the songs on my main library, which then added them to the cloud. When they appeared on my MacBook I deleted them straight away. As there was no local copy I was asked if I wanted to delete them from the cloud, and I said yes. When I went back to my main computer I found that, as expected, they were still there, but the iCloud status is "removed". They are therefore on my library but not in iCloud.
Since then I have run match updates a couple of times and there is no sign as yet that it will try to add them back to the cloud. It's too early to say that this is a definate answer to your problem, but it looks very hopeful.
Our other discussions have moved onto the 25,000 son limit, which I note from your comment you may also be interested in. Watch this space.
If you don't have access to a second computer to run the other library on then look back at Michael's post where he explains how to set it up on your main computer.

I have the same problem, where my music library shows duplicates of just about everything I put in iTunes now. It began about a month ago. As far as looking at Date Added, well they are duplicates all put on at the same time. What model iPod do you have? This feature is not supported on all models. You are positive you are holding down the Select (Center) button with the song highlighted until it disappears? Are you sure you are in your On-the-Go playlist and not just a regular one?

Hi,
Go to settings > general > usage > storage and select music. You will see how much space is being used. Swipe to delete.
This will clear cache. Streaming uses up storage space. If you have specifically downloaded tracks you can delete them individually. Will still appear on your ipad but with the download icon.

Which way are you swiping across its track name ? On iOS 7 you need to swipe from right to left, which should reveal a Delete button on its right-hand end

If you have iTunes Match enabled under iOS 6, you cannot delete albums are songs off the device one at a time. Apple changed the whole way iTunes Match functioned from iOS 5.
As I stated earlier:
1) Disable iTunes Match and turn it back on to delete everything.
2) Leave iTunes Match on but go into settings, usage, and then delete all the music that way.
3) Turn iTunes Match off and then you can delete songs or albums one at a time; however, once you turn it back on it deletes everything anyway.

The 8GB iPod Touch was available as 1st generation, 2nd generation and 4th generation.
Note; the 8GB iPod Touch was not ever - really, really, not ever, available in the 3rd generation.
Anyone, including you, who thinks they have - or there is - an 8GB Touch in 3rd generation is wrong and it's becoming tiresome to have to keep saying it to you.
A 3rd generation iPod Touch can be updated to iOS 5.
BUT - an 8GB iPod Touch is either:
1st gen, which can only go as high as iOS 3.1.3
2nd gen, which can only go as high as iOS 4.2.1. This model has Model No. A1288 etched into the back casing.
4th gen, which can install ioS 5
Note the lack of 3rd generation 8GB. That's because it does not exist.
Please stop misleading people. It doesn't help anyone.
