Can't delete an event in Calendar.

I'm trying to delete an even in calendar but I keep getting an error message that says "You can’t change events in the "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar. Only the calendar administrator and any delegates with permission can make changes to read-only calendars. To make changes to the calendar, contact the calendar administrator." I'm the only one that uses this computer. Anyone know how I can delete it?

I have exactly the same problem as do others... I got this answer from one helpful soul... however me being a normal idiot, I can't follow the instruction...probbly due to not being 18 and born into this techno age.  But here it is incase you know how to follow it... "Are you logged in as an admin user? Try running Disk Utilities/Repair Permissions after quitting Calendar."

  • Can not delete an event on calendar...every time i try and delete it, it makes another event

I have been trying to delete an event on my calendar for about a week now. I had it set to go off at 1pm everyday forever. I set the event to end somewhere in 2015 and I have been trying to delete it because I did not need it anymore. But now  every time I try and delete it, the event is created again. So now i have the same event about 5 or more times on each day since I have tried to delete it. I have tried many different ways to delete it. And at one point i deleted everything on my calendar but that event will not go away. It is also taking up a lot of storage on my phone. Whenever I try and delete it the screens stays on that page for about 5 to 10 minutes like it is trying to delete.   I need some help please.
    Thank you.

I'm using a MacBook Pro. I want to know how to delete Facebook events from my computers calendar, because it's taking up space and preventing me from seeing other events on that day.
BUT, every time I try to delete it, an error message pops up "Only the calendar administrator and any delegates with permission can make changes to read-only calendars. To make changes to the calendar, contact the calendar administrator."
And I can't delete the event. Have not tried declining the event because I don't wanna offend the person who invited me.

  • How can i delete an event on ical without notifying

    Hello
how can i delete an event on ical without notifying. All I want to do is delete the event and not notify anyone.
    Thanks

I was just experiencing this problem on Mountain Lion. The calendar I wanted to delete was on iCloud. So, I logged into iCloud from a web browser, and selected Calendar. On the current incarnation of iCloud Calendar the calendars are listed on the left. I selected the "Edit" link at the top of that list and chose delete. It indicated that the items would be deleted, but there was nothing about notifications. Then, when I went back to iCal on my Mac, I selected the calendar to be deleted, right clicked, and slected refresh...
    ... gone.
It probably would have disappeared on it's own eventually. I'd be curious to see if theis works for others, so please confirm.
    Good luck.

  • HOW CAN I DELETE AN EVENT WITHOUT  HAVING TO SELECTING IT FROM THE LIBRARY?

    I have a big problem.
I want to delete an entire event from my library because everytime I select it imovie freezes and then close itself up. So I have to re-open imovie again. And when I want to select that particular event again the same problem occures. So I can not select that particular event. Therefore I can take NO action on this event.
HOW CAN I DELETE AN EVENT WITHOUT HAVING TO SELECTING IT FROM THE LIBRARY?
(Everytime I select it imovie closes itself up)
All other events work fine. I believe The footage had a problem from capturing. but now it's in my computer and i can't open it.
Please help me, I don't need this event, I can't open it therefore I can't use it and it takes place on my hardrive for nothing.
    Thank you

One can delete it from one's computer. In the finder go to homeuser, movies, imovie events, delete the footage.
Then reopen iMovie and see if that helps.

  • Can no longer edit events in Calendar on iPod 2ndG

We have a MP, MBP, iPhone 4S and iPod 2nd G and to be able to sync Calendar and other programs on iCloud we installed Lion. We used to sync the iiPod to the MP but after switching to Lion shifted it to the MBP and she can no longer edit events on Calendar. Is this a setting problem or is it an issue with the IOS 4 on the iPod? Do we have to get an iPod that will accept IOS 5?

Doing an entire report in a table is such a bad idea and really unnecessary.
Sounds like you need to update both Pages and your user tag.
Are you actually on OSX 10.6.8 and what version of Pages are you using?

  • How can i delete an event on my iphone 4s from my gmail account?

how can i delete an event on my iphone 4s from my gmail account?

there is a way to do it. you didnt say if the two librarys were on two different computers i am supposing this is the case. In itunes on both computers go to itunes preferences there you will see where the music is stored not this location for the future.
Check is the copy files to itunes media folder is checked.
Go find that folder and see if all your music is in there if so then you can copy the folder or move it to an external hard drive.
Then go to he computer that you want all the music on and simply copy all the music files in there. Try one folder at a time so copy in say the Bob Dylan folder and see if it all works in itunes.
Obviously itunes needs to be closed when you are copying the folders over. If it doesnt immediately show up on the itunes simply choose file add to library and just go back to the folder and choose the one you want to add.
You may end up with a few duplicates if so choose show duplicates and choose which ones to delete. You may also get some files with the itunes numbering in the title you can right click and on a mac choose get info and change the name or rename in windows. I did this its a bit of stuffing around.
I would say in hindsight, one folder for all your music, let itunes copy it all over and keep adding to the original folder and back it up. If disaster ever strikes all you do is set up your new computer with fresh itunes and point itunes at your music folder and it will copy them all over again.

  • IPhoto question-I NEVER look at my events, and I keep running our of space can I delete the "Events" of my IPhoto?

IPhoto question-I NEVER look at my events, and I keep running our of space can I delete the "Events" of my IPhoto?

No, you can't delete all your events. You could merge them all together so you'd have just one, but doing so would hardly save any space, just as putting all your documents in a single folder would hardly save any space. It's the documents and photos themselves, not the containers and subcontainers in which they are organized, that really take up space.
If you have additional iPhoto questions, I suggest posting them in the iPhoto forum where the real gurus hang out.

  • Can't delete some events

    With iMovie 7.1.4 I can't delete some events : error -37

  • Once I have published & burnt my DVD can I delete the events in imovie?

    Hi Guys & Gals,
I have just published and burnt my holiday movie through idvd and saved it to my external hard drive. Can I now go into Imovie and delete the events and projects that are in there as I wish to free up space?....
WIll the movie as a whole be saved on my external drive or does it still require the clips from imovie?... This is obviously presuming that I will no be making any further edits on this movie...
    Any help gratefully received....

ah... My "DVD" is three seperate projects so I guess I can't save the "DVD" as a whole but can save the three projects as seperate quicktime movies which means I can then delete the events and projects from Imovie?...

  • While trying to delete an event on calendars keep getting you don't have administrator rights

while trying to delete an event on calendars keep getting you don't have administrator rights.  I am the administrator.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take an action that isn't working the way you expect. Select any lines that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • How to delete orphaned events in Calendar?

OK, so I'm pulling my hair out on this one: I discovered today that my wife's birthday anniversary event got duplicated 3369 times in my iPad calendar...
I'm grateful for the reminder, but 3369 times is a bit too much.
Ruling out my wife's unlikely hacking of my calendar, the culprit is probably an automatic sync with my Google calendar gone awry. Lesson learned, don't sync with Google calendar, fine, but these events cause the loading of the calendar to be super slow and I don't want to imagine what's going to happen in 10 days when the reminders for these events are going to be shown...
So how to I remove these events from my Calendar?
Going through them one by one is not an option, and anyhow, I have tried to delete one, it won't go away.
Delete the calendar they belong to? Great idea, except they don't belong to any calendar, despite what Calendar tells me in the detail of one event. Which is probably the reason why I can't delete them manually in the first place. I have verified this by writing a small app that finds those event in the calendar: the calendar property of the EKEvent is nil.
I have tried to delete them in my app ([store removeEvent:event span:EKSpanThisEvent commit:YES error:&error]), I get this error:
Failed to remove: Error Domain=EKErrorDomain Code=1 "No calendar has been set."
(Note that I did call [store requestAccessToEntityType: completion:] to authorize my app to modify the calendar).
I figured it had something to do with the event not being in a calendar, so I have tried to assign them to a calendar in my app, it doesn't work, they remain orphaned.
I have disabled sync with Google and iCloud.
I have tried to delete my iCloud account on the iPad: I get an endless spinning wheel that forces me to kill the Calendar app.
The only thing I haven't tried yet is restoring my device, but then, what if the backup contains those events?
    An idea? Anybody?
    Thanks

goto calendar> look for the event you entered> edit event (upper rt corner)> scroll down> Delete event

  • I can't delete an event in iCal

I'm trying to delete an event from my iCal & a message pops up saying that only the calendar admin can make changes in the "Contacts birthdays & events".
Since it's my calendar, aren't I the admin? This contact is no longer in my contacts book. Can anyone help? Thank you.

    From this page:
    https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/37098?hl=en
Contacts' birthdays and eventsWhen you subscribe to this calendar, all of your contacts' birthdays will display as All Day events in Google Calendar. Data is pulled from Google Contacts, which you can access via http://www.google.com/contacts (or, if you have a Gmail account, click Contacts from your inbox).
Have you tried removing the date from your Gmail contacts?
