Can't delete an image in Bridge - it just 'rejects' it.

Ive just starting using a different machine for my editing. Part of culling is that in Bridge I click "delete" on a file but it doesn't delete it - it just changes the rating to "reject". Not on this one...if I click delete the pic just goes, not even into thrash, but just dissapears which is really annoying as sometimes I "unreject". Any idea where to change this, I've looked and looked but no joy? Thanks

In the Bridge preferences General tab on the bottom show 'reset all warning dialogs'
If you press this all warning will be set to default. With this action you also have to choose again wether  select 'don't show again' or not but also with this method you get the option to choose the default behavior for the delete key

  • I  can't delete raw files in bridge

I can't delete raw files in bridge anymore. I used to and it worked. Now if I click delete button, nothing happens.

Adobe doesn't support CS5, an when I spoke to Apple, I was told that this is a known issue with OS 10.8.5 and that they're working on a patch.  In the meantime I'm using Adobe's DNG as a workaround.
Have not heard before of this Known Issue, also find it hard to believe being true. But can't test my self because I only have CS6 and CC installed and always use Photodownloader to convert to DNG upon import. I have just installed the 10.8.5 update and checked in Bridge CC pointing to an attached card reader. no problem in showing the CR2 thumbs, it works as always and as expected.
To my knowledge Bridge CS5 is already 64 bits and I can't think of any valid reason why an OS update would cause this problem so suddenly (but I'm not a technician I have to confess…)
However, I would first try a check and repair permissions from Apple Disk Utility and also try Cocktail (good and cheap 3th party maintenance application for Mac) to clear caches and check permissions.
Also try a new user account just for testing to rule out your current account as the culprit.

  • How can I delete the image in my e-mails?

I'm having difficulty deleting or changing the e-mail image that appears automatically in e-mails. I gather they appear on e-mails sent to other Mac Mail uses, but not otherwise. I'd like to simply remove the image. Yet even when I delete the image altogether using the edit image tools in Address Book, one of the stock images from Apple's library keeps showing up. Can I not have the e-mails appear without any image on them. I've poked around a bit with both Address Book and System Preferences, and wonder what the difference is between those two image functions. There are separate images for each user on my iMac, but I'm having difficulty figuring exactly how to manage and control those images in System Preferences and Address Book.
Can anyone point to Apple documentation that might help me?
    No opinions, please.
    Using

but cannot see how to simply delete an image.
As far as I know, there is no way to delete the image. I've not heard of a way to do so. It there is a way, someone may chime in; in the meantime, you might want to try checking out the "more like this" section on the right of the page.
No opinions means I'm looking for answers based on technical knowledge.

  • How can I delete an image from a document?

It won't give me the option to delete.

What product or service are you using?  What type of document are you trying to delete the image from?

  • I have an imac an  with osx snow leopard and I can no delete mail messages, the colored disk just keep rotating around ?

How can I delete old messages in my mail app. I set it up a yr ago but I don't use it. I go directly to my mail account to retrieve my mail.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

  • Can't open RAW Nikon files (NEF) using PS3 10.0 running 10.6.8 , think there is a conflict with camera Raw plug-in. Can't open raw images in bridge or photoshop.

I think I may have a Camera Raw plug-in conflict or plug in may be in the wrong place. In both PS3 and Bridge Nikon raw files (NEF) will not open. I've noticed that in photoshop in the pull down menu-about plug-in, I have 2 Camera Raw (s) listed, getting info one is 4.0, the other 4.6.0.30. It appears that my files and .xmp are 4.0 just by searching for 'Camera Raw' either 4. or 4.6 in spotlight. nothing is listed in spotlight under camera raw 4.6, but all my images are listed in the spotlight if I search for camera raw 4.0! I can not open either in Bridge or Photoshop CS3 I just receive the error message 'could not complete this request because photoshop does not reconize this type of file'. any help would this is greatfully appreciated. Thanks

Well if you have a fairly new Nikon camera PS CS3 will not have the proper version of ACR to support that camera.
You could use the Adobe DNG converter to convert the NEF files to DNGs or you can update PS to a newer version that does have support for newer cameras or you could buy Adobe Lightroom V4 which also has support for the newer Nikon cameras.

  • How can I delete an image that is being repeated as a heading on a second page of a document?

I have a pages document that has a formal heading with a logo, and on the second page, it automatically repeated, so I was hoping that someone had some insight on how to stop the repeated logo, because I only want it on the first page. When I try to delete it from the second page, it deletes it from the first page as well. Please and thank you for your help!

About… is always under the thing it is about.
So for Pages it is under the Pages menu.
In Pages 5.1 you can not insert images into the Header, so I assume you have put it in the Section Master.
click at the end of the first page text > Menu > Insert > Section Break
Then delete the logo in the subsequent section/s. Section Master objects repeat for every page of the section they are in. As the name suggests.

  • Help! Can I recover an image from Bridge's Cache?

Nightmare situation. Deleted clients 3 month old baby files by accident. Recovery software found files but they are corrupted, all of them....
SO I know I showed them to her originally in Bridge CS3 and that bridge makes a high-res preview. This preview file seems to be located in a file called, "Filesystem_Nodes.MYD" because in the cache folder this one is like 900+mb.
PLEASE tell me there is a way I can view/export these cache files without the original photos existing anymore...
    Thanks for any help!

I'm afraid not but to be sure you should contact Adobe directly using the
contact button at top of the site.
Bridge renders previews but to my knowledge you can't extract them.
You might have heard before but again this is a proof of the importance of
using back-up, it is so easy to copy files to multiple locations and drives
or other media. It does not help you now but it will in the future!
PLEASE tell me there is a way I can view/export these cache files without the
    original photos existing anymore...

  • Can't delete iphoto images from hard drive

I transferred my iphoto library onto my external hard drive in order to save some space. When I moved the existing library of images to trash in iphoto it deleted it from iphoto but didn't free up any space on my hard drive. I have tried to find these images but have had no joy at all. any advice would be much appreciated.
    I have iphoto '09 and version 8.1.2 (424)

You sure you don't have more than one Library?
Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

  • How can I delete the image outside of this offset path?

I'm really new to Illustrator, and I'm trying to print an image that will have a CutContour swatch around it, with a bleed outside of the CutContour line. You'll see that I set up the bleed by creating an offset path outside of the CutContour path. However, I would like to delete the rest of the image outside of that, but I'm not sure how to do this. I don't want to print the entire block of the photograph, just the image inside the tracing, leaving the outside white. I thought I could select the offset path and make a Clipping Mask from that but it says it's "too complex" or doesn't do anything at all. I've attached an example since it will probably make more sense to have something to look at in addition to my explanation...

    If there are a lot of points in the path you are trying to use as a clipping mask, you could try;
    Object > Path > Simplify
Turn on preview, and play with the settings while watching the shape and number of points.

  • Can I embed moving images to Bridge web gallery

    Hi,
I think Bridge's Web Gallery feature is great, but I would like to put in some of my videos too. Is there any way I could embed my video materia in it? (I can convert them virtually to any format from swf, flv to mov)
Or is there a workaround this? What files do I need to change (in Flash?) in order to embed the video to the gallery? I have the whole Master Collection so all the CS 5.5 programmes are available for me.
    Many thanks for your time!
    Miiagod

    You cannot change that.
BTW, the MobileMe gallery is not part of iWeb. For more on this subject the [MobileMe Gallery forum|http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1199] might be a better place.

  • How can I delete an image on LR?

When I try to remove a photo from the "disk", I now get a message that the files are on a volume that does not support Trash.
    What does that mean?
    Cindy

It means that you try to delete a photo that is not located on you local hard-drive - if you click OK, the photo is gone for good and can not be recovered, except from a backup that hopefully exists.
Trash does only support (and catch) deletions from your local drives and not from network or any other external drives.

  • Can't delete files in Adobe Bridge. "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient permissions." I am only user/admin. Can delete in Finder with PW only. Have run Disk Utility.

This is a MBP 13" Retina with flash drive. It is only a few weeks old. Problem started in last few days. I ran check and fix permissions in Disk Utiliity. Also made sure the folder with all my photographs has RW permission for me through Finder > Get Info > Sharing & Permissions. None of this helped.

    Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. You can demote it back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
    sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:20 ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ 2> /dev/null
Be sure to select the whole line by triple-clicking anywhere in it. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar. A text window opens.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.

  • Help.  Can't reopen images in Bridge/PS

When I save an image as a tif in PS I can only reopen the image in Google Chrome 41.0 or Windows Live Photo Gallery 15.4 (default.)  I can't reopen the image in Bridge.  I've already tried resetting PS preferences several times but that did not solve the problem.

    Photog Max wrote:
How to I then get the images to open in raw?
If it is a RAW image when you select Open or Open With > PS CC 2014 it should automatically open Adobe Camera Raw with that image included.
Or while in Bridge and you Right Click on any image file, even JPGs, you can select Open In Camera RAW. That opens just Adobe Camera Raw and from that you can make adjustments and then click Done and those adjustments are saved to the file or to a sidecar file or you can click Open and PS will then open up with the adjustments you made.
You can also click the Save Image button and save the adjusted image in many different formats, JPG, Tif, DNG or Photoshop which I think will save it as a PSD file.
Also if you have PS set to open JPGs in ACR before it opens completely in PS then any JPG file you double click on in the film strip or right click and select Open or Open With and select PS will also open ACR first.
