Can't delete Audiobook

I jumped from iTunes 10 to 12.0 with my new iMac. I used to be able to delete an Audible book by right-clicking the book and selecting "Delete" then either Move to Trash or Keep in Library. Now I have no way that I can see to delete a book. The delete key doesn't work, nor does command-delete. Right-clicking doesn't give the option to delete. See attached screenshot.
Any help would be appreciated.

Just fixed it by updating to 12.0.1. Tried this earlier, but every time I got the "Update Available. Do you want to download" message, it threw me to the MAS, where iTunes was NOT listed in Updates. Had to go to downloads at apple.com

  • Can't delete file from iPod

I have a podcast episode on my iPod that iTunes doesn't think is Music, Podcast, or Audiobook, so the only place it appears is in a playlist. So I can't delete this podcast from my iPod at all. When I delete it from the playlist, there is no way to list it from iTunes unless I create a smart playlist searching for artist or podcast name. So why doesn't apple have an "All" category so that I can delete these files that can't be deleted? These type of things used to show up in the Music list, they changed the Music list to not show all files in the Library.

Shift-Delete worked. Now if I could only find the podcasts that got deleted from my iPod that still take up space somehow. Even those don't come up in smart playlists. If I click on my iPod (top level) I get a graph of Audio, Other and Free space. My "Other" reads 122 MB. What is "Other"? It can't be podcasts because I have 381 MB of those.

  • CANNOT delete audiobooks from ipod

I have just discovered audiobooks for my "reading" and love it. I have 2 books that I am done with and want to delete them from my 8g ipod. All my itunes screen says is books, it does not show what audiobooks, so i am not able to check or uncheck them when I sync my ipod.
Also, since I got windows 7 I have also not had the same itunes screen with all my playlists on the side. It was nice to have.
Can you help with these two problems, thanks, sanni

  • How can I delete apps in iTunes and have that sync to my iPhone and iPad?

How can I delete apps in iTunes and have that sync to my iPhone and iPad? I don't want to delete 3 separate times for each item. I just carefully chose 30-35 apps to get rid of via iTunes, hoping it would sync to my devices, only to find I have to repeat the process on my iPad, take notes, then repeat it on my iPhone. It wasn't always so tedious was it?
Here's the "Help" I got from Apple. They even quoted my question back to me then proceeded to answer with something very different and completely missing the point.
I understand that you would like to delete the Apps. I know how eager you are to get the required information and I will be happy to assist you.
You can remove individual songs, audiobooks, and videos from your iPod, iPhone, or iPad. Removing an item from your device doesn't delete it from your iTunes library.
To remove items from a device other than an iPod shuffle, first make sure that iTunes is set up to manually manage items.
    1. Connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to your computer.
    2. When the iPod, iPhone, or iPad icon appears in iTunes, select it.
    3. Unless your device is an iPod shuffle, click the Summary tab and make sure "Manually manage music and videos" or "Manually manage music" is selected.
    4. If the disclosure triangle to the left of your iPod, iPhone, or iPad (below Devices) is closed, click the triangle so that you can see the device's contents.
    5. Select the item you want to delete and press the Delete key.
This was not helpful in any way and I am still unable to delete apps on my devices in a global, iTunes based way. Each device still requires its own independent process.

Match was off.  I made all of the changes and then went through the "Turn on iTunes Match" option.  I now have deleted some tracks, edited the Metadata in CDDA, and then added it back.  This worked fine, but it is not a good solution.
I just tried making some edits and use the "Update iTunes Match" and that seemed to work.  It looks like the real answer is that Match must be up and operational, then you can make changes and run the Update to incorporate the changes.  However, if Match has a problem then Signing Out and back in to your store account and going through the process of Turning On Match (were you get the questions, "Add this Computer to Match" will overwrite any changes.
Since this relies on the stability of iTunes, I won't be making a lot of changes between updates.

  • Deleting audiobooks

I have an audiobook on my Nano 5G that I downloaded from my local library. I can't find it in my itunes files and I don't know how to delete it from my Nano.

I also don't know how to *delete an audiobook* downloaded from my library using Overdrive Media Console. I've deleted it from my computer but can't delete it from my iPod. It doesn't show up on my iPod library in iTunes. I've selected to use my iPod as an external disc but still can't see any of my iPod contents with the file manager on my PC either.
There is nothing helpful on this in the iPod user guide - help, please, I'm going to run out of space on my iPod pretty quickly, and audiobooks are the main reason I use my iPod.

  • HT4859 If I upgrade to an Iphone 4s, can I delete the account from my old Iphone and will it cause any problems?

I have upgraded to an Iphone 4s from an Iphone, can I delete the icloud account of the old phone on my new one without it causing any problems? it seems to have a lot of storage  (3.3Gb)

You should be able to copy all of your purchases (apps, music, films etc) from your current iPhone to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. As long as they remain available in the store then apps can be re-downloaded, music can be re-downloaded in some countries, and TV shows and films in fewer (and even where films can be re-downloaded not all film studios have agreed to it) - ringtones and audiobooks can't be re-downloaded.
    Re-downloading : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
In terms of the apps content and settings, then if you backup the phone to your computer's iTunes then you should be able to restore that backup onto your new phone : how to backup and restore. Passwords (email, router, website) won't be restored onto a different device so you will need to re-enter them on your new phone.
You can also copy photos off your current phone. Just in case the backup and restore doesn't work (it should but it's best to be safe), you may also want to copy any important documents off your current phone as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc.

  • Deleting audiobooks from my iphone 4

I have two audiobooks on my Iphone under the audiobooks tab that I want to delete.  Even though I created a playlist for each, they would not show in the list when I went to sync selected music.  The only way I could get the books on my Iphone was to drag and drop the audiobooks on the Iphone.
The problem is that I've listened to the books I can't find a way to remove them from my phone.  I"ve tried transferring purchases from my Iphone, but have had no luck.
When I pull up the audiobook tab in the Ipod app, I see the books and can play them, but I can't delete them.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    CES

Allan if your still around, I dont have that "include audiobooks from playlist" option. I have and Iphone 4 on IOS 5 using a macbook pro on OSX snow leapoard Itunes ver 10.5.1
I have searched High and low and can not figure out how to get them off my phone. I have completely deleted them from Itunes and made sure they are not in the folders stored on my external. Only the books I want are still left (the ones I can remove from the phone). I want all the books still but just want them off my phone till I want to listen to them again.
I have tried the transfer purchases option. it failed.
    deleted play list. it failed
searched in the music and books folders for the books but they are gone. But the books (4 of them) are still on my phone.
I have even tried to change the authors name from last name first to first name first. The first name first shows up and can be removed but the old set of books with the last name first is still there. If I make them both the same I get two copies of the same audiobook.
I am seriously trying to avoid a factory reset just to get them off the phone.
    I hate Itunes

  • Two apple I.D., one with the .me email address I want, how can I delete it so that I can use that .me address on my other account?

I have two apple I.D., one with the .me email address I want, how can I delete it so that I can use that .me address on my other account
Or is it possible to transfer the purchases (apps) to my new .me account so that I can re-download them in the future without having to switch accounts?

You can't do this, and you can't transfer purchases between accounts. There is no conflict about using one ID for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match (the ID you've been using for iTunes) and using the other ID for iCloud.

  • How can I delete an iTunes account that has been deactivated?

I deleted an old Apple ID with the help of a call to Apple Support.  However, my iphone is still trying to use the old ID.  How do I log out of the old ID and into the new?  Or, how can I delete the old ID when it has already been deactivated?  (Cannot delete with phone)

Only iTunes Support can potentially delete an account (which would also delete any purchase history for it, so you would no longer be able to authorise that content on a computer, redownload it, and download updates to its apps) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
Or you could just remove any personal info from it (e.g. payment details if you have any on it) and stop using it

How can I delete my itunes store account

At the moment you can't - just remove any personal info from it (e.g. credit card details) and stop using it. If you purchased any content from Apple with it (music, films, apps etc) then you will need to remember the account id and password in case you ever want authorise it so as to use it on a different computer (or the same computer if, for exampel, you upgrade the OS)

  • How can I delete an old iCloud account for which I do not remember the password?  The email address linked to that account is no longer active.

The email linked to that account is no longer active.  How can I delete this old account and use a new one?

Although your profile says you're running iOS 5.1.1 it sounds like you're running iOS 7 (otherwise you would not need your password to delete the old account).  Assuming that's true, and your iCloud ID has changed but you need to delete the old account in order to change to your new one, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
