Can't delete bookmark folders

I have tried repeatedly to delete folders in bookmarks. Last night they disappeared finally but this morning they are back! I have removed the firefox program from computer and then reinstalled but it remembers, I logged out of sync and then removed from computer again, then reinstalled but the program continues to remember my original folders.

Where do deleted bookmark folders go and can they be recovered?

Does anyone know where deleted bookmark folders go? I accidently deleted one while editing, and cannot find it in the trash bin.

There are no backups, but will start a regular program now so that this doesn't happen again.

For some reason, I can not delete bookmarks. I did one at a time, then tried 5 or 6 and it worked once then no more. I then tried 1 at a time and it worked once the no more. This is a brand new computer (Win7) and FF just loaded about 3 hours ago.

Looks like FF tried to import some BM's from the Virtual XP installed, but did not get it any where near right. I need to completely delete all of them and install from a saved .html file.

Well, I did not see the exact problem that I was having listed in the articles, BUT the problem is solved for now.
I opened FF and the Bookmarks to Organize again. I deleted all of the folders and entries, ONE AT A TIME, AND IT WORKED. Evidently, for what ever reason, FF did not like "Batch" deletes of ANY amount greater than 1 and the HANG UP would occur.
Deleting one at a time then importing the good .html from a good file, loaded the wanted Bookmarks. Yea

How can one create bookmark folders?

How can one create bookmark folders in Firefox on a Samsung Galaxy S4? I have tried a couple of the suggested apps in Google Play Store but can't get them to interface with Firefox. Thanks for your help!!

I can not delete bookmarks from the bar as I am spammed with many bookmarks.

On my bookmark bar I have multiple instances of "Webmail Notifier" and they are in my bookmark list in many places. I am unable to delete them at all. How can I fix this issue?

If I try to delete more than 10 bookmarks at a time or a folder with bookmarks in it, FF hangs, then says there's a script that isn't running properly & do I want to continue or stop the script - I've tried continuing but it just hangs again, and I've tried stopping the script but it still hangs..
I've restarted FF, turned off Sync, turned on Sync.
I tried exporting my bookmarks to html, to edit them in a file then re-import them, but the file was incomplete - it did not contain all the folder in My Bookmarks.
Deleting bookmarks has been a pain ever since Sync was introduced, and Firefox doesn't have an official iOS app and the 3rd party ones don't work consistently, so I don't get much use from sync

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear in stating my problem.
I understand how to delete both bookmarks and folders containing bookmarks according to the instructions, and have done so easily in the past.
But, since update to FF25 I haven't been able to delete a folder with bookmarks in it or more than 10-12 bookmarks at a time.
I resolved the issue by quitting FF, importing my bookmarks into Chrome, using Chrome's import as FF also was not exporting a complete bookmark list. I cleared out some duplicates in Chrome, exported bookmarks from Chrome to an html file, removed the places sqlite file from my profile, deleted all FF bookmarks, and imported the bookmarks html file into FF, which created a new & functional places sqlite file with the same set of bookmarks as at the beginning. I can only think the places file was corrupted somehow during the update as that was the only file I had to delete to fix the issue - I can now move & delete folders with hundreds of bookmarks in them and delete as many bookmarks as needed at one time.

I think you mean there is no way to delete more than 1 item at a time in the LEFT panel, the list of folders, not in the right panel, the list of bookmarks and the contents (bookmarks) of subfolders.

Can't delete bookmarks or add bookmarks on my iOS7 Safari.

I fixed it..sort of.
Using the link below, BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) sent an email with a link to set up the email through the web. It was a very quick and easy set-up for Google App Email. No guessing settings - it just worked. And it allowed me to have two email set-ups with the same email address..sort of.
There was no way to have two mail folders on the phone with the old mail & new, but by doing it this way, a new folder was set up on my phone for the new address, and all the old messages remained in the Main Message folder. I don't know if that would have happened if I deleted the old account. I read a lot of people having trouble with Google Apps setup so this is definitely the way to go:

The Library handles the Bookmarks and the History in Firefox 3 versions and later.
You can select in the left pane what you want to see: History, Tags, or Bookmarks.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

TS4040 Safari giving me headaches. Can't delete bookmarks, etc. Must force quit all the time

I have a Mac OS X Lion. I have tried several suggestions as to how to fix my Safari problems...and none have worked.
Months ago, I took my computer to the Apple store, they wiped the hard drive, loaded Lion operating system. I reinstalled everything that had been saved on Carbonite and have been having trouble with Safari ever since.
Can I reinstall Safari? Or/and what must I do to delete bookmarks?

Stacks - Can I delete desktop folders that I used to create a stack?

Hi,
I have various folders on my desktop and have created a couple of stacks using them. The folders still show up on the desktop and in the dock as a stack. Is there now a duplicate copy of everything in the folder/stack?
Also can I delete the folder on my desktop? or will it corrupt the files in stack when I try to open them? Or do you just hide the desktop folfers/files in another location? (i.e. Documents Folder which I never use, I always saved stuff to my desktop)

I've just moved all my folders on my desktop to my Documents Folder in Mac HD> Users> My Name> Documents. When I click on stacks it retrieves my files from this location and I think i'll start saving all my work to this same location so that it's easier to make new stacks in the future.
I couldn't check where the default Stack (the one that appeared when I upgraded to leopard) was retrieving those .jpgs from because I deleted that stack. I could check in Time machine but i'm happy enough linking stuff to my Documents folder. Any changes made in my documents folder automatically updates the stack on the dock. Good Stuff!

CS4 - can't delete files/folders - doesn't match windows directory but works fine in DW8

When I delete files/folders in CS4 the deletion is not reflected in my local windows directory.
And if I exit CSW and reload CS4 all the files and folders are back again.
I have never used cloaking but ran uncloak all with no result.
But all this workd fine in DW8.
Any thoughts?

Oh... well this is interesting... disk utility is say that it IS formatted MS-DOS (FAT32). Is that what's causing these errors? This thing has been running with my mac beautifully for years. So do I pull my stuff off, wipe it and reformat it for a mac? Or since it is FAT 32 can I hook it up to a windows computer and fix the problem? Since I had the wrong format, I can delete the files but if I don't fix the format this will keep happening?

Can I delete old folders after updates?

Can't believe it makes one iota of difference but am using WIN7.
Is there any reason not to delete old folders in Lightroom and PS when I upgrade or install later versions.
Example: I have 5 folders of updates (plus 4.2) in my Adobe folder for Lightroom starting with 3.4 up thru 4.1.
Can I just delete everything except 4.2?
I have PS CS6. Can I delete the CS5 folder?

Most folks leave older versions on their systems to avoid potential issues arising from uninstalling an older version after installing a new.
Those who DO want to clean up uninstall the older software. Are you saying you've done that but folders are still left behind? In that case you'd be safe to remove anything explicitly identified as a version you've uninstalled.

Sounds like you may need to re-install Safari.
1. Make sure you have an alternate browser like Firefox installed.

2. Save your bookmarks. Safari>File>Export Bookmarks
3. Delete Safari from the Applications folder also your User Account>Library>Safari folder
4. Use your alternate browser to download Safari from Apple.

5. Re-install Safari and import your saved bookmarks.
You might want to consider upgrading to OSX 10.6 but I doubt that is your problem.
