Can't delete custom dictionary 8120

Whenever I try to delete or clear the custom dictionary on my 8120, it clears out. However after a battery pull reboot everything reappears. If I use the Desktop manager 5.0 and go to backup/restore>advanced I try to cleat the custom words collection it says it clears, but it doesn't. The entries are still there. The only way to get rid of it, is to wipe the handheld. I need to do this, because frequently this messes up the search function in the songs list, when you start typing letters and it tries to find songs as you type. Then it cannot find anything. For example the #8 key normally starts typing "8" then "b" then "n". When it messes up, it starts with "b" and it says no songs available, even though I have songs that start with a "b". The solution to this is a battery pull reboot, and then it works for15 minutes or so, and then starts messing up again. The other way around it is to wipe the handheld to erase the custom dictionary. Why is it doing that? I got the latest 4.5.0124 t-mobile software.

Guys and gals, yes, it's as I suspected. When I swapped the SIMs the problem disappeared and I could delete old workouts normally.
So I have a reason to believe this is a small but potentially* critical bug with the Nike+ application on the iPhone. Why *the custom workouts are bound to the SIM used when creating them* is beyond my understanding, nevertheless, I hope for a future bug fix from Apple.
*what happens if you lose or disable your unique SIM?

  • Can't delete custom "My Workouts" in Nike+ application

I have created some custom workouts for my running. For some freak reason, although in the past I was able to, now I can't delete these custom workouts.
Yes, I press Edit, select the workout to delete, delete it, press Done... but by the moment I change tab (to Workouts or History) or shut down and reopen the application, they reappear.
I've already synced my app, turned it off and restarted it, soft reset... to no avail. I can add new custom workouts but can't delete the old ones. Actually the very old ones, the ones I added a week ago, not from the moment I noticed the problem (ie yesterday). If I add something now it can be deleted, but I want to cancel an old custom workout.
*Does anyone have an idea why this might be happening and how can I fix it?*
If it can be of any help, the only thing I changed these past three days has been the SIM and the time zone, because I changed country. Could it be a simple time stamp bug in how the app deals with these entries?

  • Can't delete custom color profile

I created a custom color profile and now it won't let me delete it, the delete option is grayed out. I have looked in the colorsync profile folder and it isn't there either. Does anyone know how to delete it?
    Message was edited by: Chad3405

    Chad,
Open your Color Sync Utility, and find the profile in question. Once highlighted, it will show the path for that profile under "Profile Information:". Follow that path, and you can delete it from there, though it will probably ask for an administrator password. That should be it.
    Hope this helps,
    Jeff

  • Can't Delete Custom Stationary in Mail

I have created several custom mail stationaries and can add and delete them except for one. I have one that will not delete if you try to delete it it actual deletes the staionary to the right of it.
    Help!!
Not a horrible prol=blem but bery annoying!

In Finder hold down the option/alt key while selecting the Go menu item. Select Library.
Then go Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Application Support/Mail/Stationary and see if it is there.

  • Can you delete custom labels created in the contact list?

The subject pretty much sums up my question! Can you do this on the iPhone?

Not sure what you mean by "Custom Labels in the contact list"
But to the best of my knowledge nothing that even has to do with the contact list is customizable other than entries you put in

  • Can't delete custom templates

I have looked at the previous answers for deleting a custom template previously posted, but when I go to the Library, etc. when I get to iWork09 the only options after that are content (which contains only "fills") and Frameworks (which contains lots of items, no templates)

You're not in the correct library. There are at least three on your Mac. First, click on the Desktop or the Mac face in the Dock to make Finder active then hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu and select Library as in this first screenshot.
Now, using column view, follow the path as in this second screenshot.

  • Is there a way to delete custom presets? (Premiere Elements 11 Mac)

I have been experimenting with different ouput options for AppleTV with 1080p and 720p video, and have created many custom presets.  I would like to get rid of several which didn't give good results.  I have not found an option to delete custom presets from the share tab in elements11.  There is no trash icon available.  In addition, I have not had any success in finding the presets file.  Any one know how to do this?

To delete a custom output preset, you just select the preset on the Publish & Share panel and then click the trashcan icon next to the preset drop-down menu.
Note, of course, that you can only delete custom presets. Not default presets.

  • Migrating Custom Dictionary from earlier version of Robohelp

    Hi
I've just upgraded from Robohelp Offce to Robohelp8.
On migrating the first of my projects, it sems that although the project is converted to Robohelp8, it does not bring with it the custom dictionary associated with the older project. This has hundred of (technical) words in.
Does anyone know how I can import the custom dictionary?
    Thanks
    Martin

The custom dictionary is in a .tlx file should I think is held in your ApplicationData/Help directory against each userid on the PC. I don't suppose you made a copy of this before upgrading to RH8 as it may have been overriddden. You can add personal dictionaries via the Tools > Spelling Options menu item if you have.

  • Editing a custom dictionary?

    Hello!
I clicked "Learn Spelling" by mistake. How can I undo this? Is there any possibility to edit the custom dictionary?

    Hello Rustam,
    welcome to Apple Discussions.
You can edit your custom dictionary in ~/Library/spelling/
Depending on your language, you'll find there a file it or en.
If you open that file with TextEdit, you'll see all words listed in a line without separator. However, words are separated by a control character that looks like "^@" in other editors (e.g. emacs in Terminal.app).

  • E72 - deleting words from the custom dictionary

    Hi
one of the first bits of software that I installed on my E72 was the custom dictionary editor from Nokia Labs. Its been a great **bleep** on my earlier E63 and I naturally wanted it on my E72
However I noticed that there are words being added (by my keyboard mistakes) that DO NOT APPEAR in the custom dictionary.
For example I managed to add There.com to my dictionary (by typing There. and it added com ... like **bleep**?) and now every time I type there I get There.com suggested.
is there any other way to blast the custom dictionary?
I can only say that the E72 is a love HATE relationship

    Hi Pellicle,
We're sorry to hear about your problems with the software, but keep in mind that the custom dictionary is, like adrianhughes mentioned, a beta labs software and not a finished product.  It is mentioned on the project page that it may have some minor issues on Nokia E72.
The project status is archived, which means that it was not released officially and the development has likely stopped, so reporting a bug or making a suggestion may not help in this case.  Please check the project FAQ page for more info on likely problems, especially questions 8 (I deleted a word but it is still being used for prediction) and 3 (Why do I get an option to select a language?).
If the FAQ suggestions do not help you to solve the problem, try to do a hard reset by dialling *#7370# followed by the security code 12345 (unless you've changed it). Please remember to backup your phone first using Nokia Suite though, as it will remove all data on your phone.
Let us know if this helps,

  • How can I delete the custom repeat option in the reminders app

    Hi,
When I try to set a reminder to repeat every month the reminder app automatically sets a "custom repeat" of "every month that has 29 days in it". Where did this custom repeat option come from? I don't think I created it. How can I delete it?

    Hi Chris,
    Thanks for your reply.
I am using the native iOS reminders app. I have tried closing the app and powering my phone off and on, but to no avail. I was under the impression that one can set custom reminders using siri? I have friend with a toddler who was playing with my phone. I figured maybe she set off Siri and a custom reminder was set by mistake?

  • Deleting Custom Words Dictionary

I use OSX's built in spellchecker on occasion, but half the time I end up hitting "learn word" instead of fixing it, so now my dictionary is full of misspellings. I want to just nuke the whole custom dictionary. So, I googled, and it should be at [username]/library/spelling/en. But it's not.
There is no spelling folder in there, I also looked in the system library and then spotlighted the whole machine for a spelling folder. Where can I find this file and eradicate it?
I'm on 10.5.3, that was upgraded from 10.4.x. I'm not too worried about it for the next few weeks, as I am going to get a new hard drive, but after I get the new drive, I want to be able to kill this file on occasion to clean out all my misspellings.

I just went on a Windoze box at work with Portable Firefox, and I found the solution to my problem. The reason that I could never find my dictionary is that I never had one. Firefox intercepts the handling of misspelling, so that Mac OS doesn't handle it, and all of my misspellings were in Firefox or in another program with its own spellchecker.
As a side note, I found this article about how to remove the misspelled words from Firefox's dictionary:
