Can't delete effects, layers or anything
All of a sudden I can't delete anything. Dumped the only motion pref I could find and no dif. Why so much unstable Apple software??

Yes, I found if the timeline tab isn't pulled away it works. So much for floating boxes tho esp. when you need the viewing room. Just more Apple instability.

I've been using Dreamweaver for years now, usually just
simple stuff. But I've just started using CSS in my latest site and
I've noticed that EVERY layer I've ever drawn on a page is retained
as a 'style' in the code. It doesn't matter whether I delete, save,
reboot, try a different site, start the page from fresh without
attaching a CSS sheet - they ALL stay in the page code.
I've even gone back to an old site I did and drew a layer,
then deleted it, and it stayed in the code as well ! I'm sure this
never used to happen as I doodle around a bit on pages when
developing, and have never struck this before.
I suspect I've switched on some odd 'mode' or something, but
can't find any info on this problem.
Here's an example page with four (deleted) layers (1,2,3,4)
still showing in the page source. I know I can go into the code and
delete them manually, but this will be much harder once the pages
build up, and surely this shouldn't be happening anyway ?

Judging from your code, you're using Dreamweaver 8, which
creates the
style rules for a "layer" in style block in the head of the
page.
Previous versions of Dreamweaver embedded the styles in the
opening
<div> tag. Consequently, if you deleted a "layer" in an
older version of
Dreamweaver, both the <div> and the accompanying styles
were deleted. In
Dreamweaver 8, deleting the <div> does not get rid of
the styles. To do
so, you need to go into Code view. Alternatively, open the
CSS Styles
panel, click the All button, highlight the associated style
rule, and
press Delete.
In Dreamweaver CS3, there is no such thing as a "layer". What
you call a
"layer" is now called an AP (absolutely positioned) Div. The
Layers
panel has been replaced by the AP Elements panel. Basically,
they work
the same way as Dreamweaver 8, but the change isn't simply
cosmetic. The
AP Elements panel now displays *all* absolutely positioned
elements, not
just those that use the <div> tag. So, for example, you
can have an
absolutely positioned unordered list, and it's displayed in
the AP
Elements panel.

There is nothing inherently wrong with "layers" - or
absolutely
positioned elements. What frequently goes wrong is when
developers fail
to understand what they are and how they work. An AP element
is
absolutely positioned. If the style rules say top:25px;
left:100px,
that's where the element will be positioned - 25px from the
top of the
page, and 100px from the left. It never moves, even if the
browser
viewport changes in size. The other feature of an AP element
is that
it's removed from the normal flow of the page. That's why a
paragraph
that comes after an AP element in the code usually floats up
to the top
of the page. Excessive use of AP elements can also result in
the
underlying code being in a totally illogical order; it may
look fine in
a browser, but comes out as gibberish in a screen reader for
the blind,
or in a text browser.
If you understand the implications and limitations of AP
elements,
there's usually no problem. However, a deeper understanding
of CSS
frequently helps you find more appropriate solutions, keeping
AP
elements for special cases where they achieve an effect that
can't
easily be done with non-positioned styles. I used "layers"
extensively
for a couple of years. Now, I rarely touch them.

I have a TV Show download that us stuck in the file processing mode. I can't delete it or do anything with it. Don't even know where it is stored

Ah ... yes ..... it does have a power button. Every iPad has the same sleep/power button in the same place on the iPad. I'm happy that you found a solution .... but maybe you should download this for reference.

u can actually force it to delete, oviously i assume you dont have the application or data etc open neware else?
try restarting your computer, go into finder close all your open applications etc, servers, **** even clear your data in your web browser, do a disk utility check and verify your drives and repair em if nessicary.

No, unfortunately, when you format a drive, it will erase all the contents. So you will need to find a temporary "storage" place to put the stuff using a PC so you have access to it. Then reformat using Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities). If only using with mac, format Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and use GUID Partition scheme under Partitions/Options. After formatting, you can drag the files back.

You cannot delete the account from the server (partly to prevent the username from becoming available again and some-one else using it to pretend to be you).. Having disengaged your devices from it, go to http://icloud.com and delete any data in there such as contacts and calendars. Then just ignore it.

I just downloaded the newest version of Itunes on my Windows 7 PC. I can't delete anything and I can't sync to my MP3 player. I tried deleting it and installing an earlier version of Itunes but it can't read the library. Please help.

I updated iTunes to 11 and now I am unable to delete anything!! Very annoyed and I hate iTunes updates anymore. It shows a cloud with an arrow for me to download and I dont want to download the items..I already have them! How can I delete this garbage??
I have the same problem. It's showing old podcasts that are available for download and I already watched and I don't want to see them again and I don't want them listed in my iTunes. This latest upgrade is a piece of junk so far. It destroyed my itunes podcast listing on my Windows Machine. I have no intentions of upgrading to iOS7 or my Mac until I hear that things are fixed.

I forgot my restriction password and I can't delete any app. I can't download anything either, I've filled up all the space in my iPad, and I need to update my iPad in order to restore it. I told you, I can't restore iOS. In order to restore my iPad, I need to update it to iOS 7.0.4, but my iPad needs available space to update, but I don't have any. It started when I tried to delete back up files. It wouldn't let me delete them. Came up with "BootX" is locked, then "boot.efi" is locked. Holding down Option while emptying the trash didn't do anything. It wouldn't let me put them back in Backups.backupdb so I just left them in the trash.

I can't delete apps on my iPad does anybody knows how to fix it. Also I can't open any iWork apps ,they open but won't show anything.
If the whole iPad freezes then something else is going on. Try this next. Close all apps in the recents tray and restart your iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
