Can't delete or edit songs..

I like to keep my music organized so this is a pretty big deal, lol.
I had some songs from an album on my library, no problems. I just downloaded a song from the same album to my iTunes. However, most of the info is missing. I click 'get info', and it's greyed out. I can't delete the song. Can't delete the 'unknown album' that it's listed under. So... I deleted it from my iTunes media folder, to get to the source of it. Now.. it just displays 'file cannot be found', I STILL can't delete or redownload it.
Any ideas? Otherwise I want a refund, lol.

You have to press AND HOLD the shift key.
As for why some songs won't re-add to itunes, maybe the MP3 headers are causing it. iTunes 7 and later has gotten really picky about them. Here's a good web link on that:

The first part of your answer worked great, thanks for that! However, since doing that, there are still songs on the iPad that I want to delete. I place my finger on the song, swipe to the left....and nothing. No red "delete" appears at the right. That used to work on my full size iPad, but not on this mini. I just purchased it last Friday...maybe it's defective?

When you say "account," do you mean your iTunes library, because your iTunes library is what is on your computer? Your iTunes library does not have an email address. An account that is related to iTunes is your Apple ID (which is an email address) and you use it as your user name to sign in to the iTunes Store, to make purchases. Changing your Apple ID will not make songs disappear from your computer's iTunes library.
If you had an Apple ID and used it to make song purchases from the iTunes Store, and then started using a different Apple ID, you should be able to re-download the songs purchased with the old Apple ID. In iTunes, sign in to the iTunes Store using your OLD Apple ID (and password). That may not be your current email address, but Apple uses it as your user name, so it does not matter.
On the iTunes Store Home screen, click on Purchased under QUICK LINKS. This takes you do the Purchased screen, where you can re-download previous song purchases (for that Apple ID) at no cost.
NOTE: If those song purchases are from more than a few years ago, you may also need to authorize your computer to play (and sync) songs for your old Apple ID.
For songs that were not purchased from the iTunes Store, if they are also gone, you cannot get them back unless you have a backup (or they are still loaded on your old iPod).
If that's not what you mean by "changed the email address on my account," please post back with more details.

Can't delete or edit a Mail account that is unable to connect and it keeps notifying me and asking for password. Macbook Pro with Yosemite. If I highlight the account and go to Mailboxes, "Edit smart mailbox" is greyed out. Delete the mailbox is an option, but the mailbox just doesn't go away and no error message displayed. Tried Mail/Preferences/Accounts, highlighting account and using minus sign, it tells me the account is shared by other applications and gives me an option to go to Internet Accounts. At Internet Accounts, the only mail account showing is iCloud. Meanwhile, the pesky Mail icon is jumping around the bottom of my screen.
Can anyone help?

Did you ever find a fix for this? Mine is doing exactly the same thing, even with 2.01 - I hoped that might fix it. I'd rather not have to reset and erase the whole phone.

This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music. See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled. This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.

Can't delete or clear songs in Smart Playlist

Guys,
I'm creating a smart Playlist to isolate my mini from my 20gb. I cannot for the life of me delete or clear any songs from a Smart Playlist, and it is REALLY annoying me. Can anyone please help? Everything is current versions BTW.

The reason you can't delete songs from smart playlists is because they are in fact "smart" playlists - whatever goes into them is totally dependant on the "rules" that you set in the "edit smart playlist" area. Smart playlists are completely automatic by these rules that you set, and songs can't be manually added or deleted in any way.
If you want to be able to manually add & delete songs from a playlist it has to be a manual playlist that you use.

Can't Delete Non-Editable Region in Template?

Well, I can in existing templates but if I create a new one from an existing page using "Save as Template", when I try to delete a non-editable region in the template, DW won't let me. I don't know why. Aaaargh!
It's my understanding I should be able to edit anything in a template. I've tried existing DW and restarting. I've tried using other pages as a basis for the template. Every template I create won't let me delete non-editable regions. I'm highlighting the non-editable region and pressing the delete key. I can't delete.

I just noticed that this new template refers to another template. I'm thinking that means the other template is controlling what I'm trying to do in the current template.
That's it. I just tried saving a template under a different name (still retaining the correct template file extension) but did not do the save as template. Now I can completely edit that template. So you if you save a page that is controled by a template, as a template, that new template is controlled by the previous template.

I am having an issue with grayed out songs. I have no idea on how to delete grayed out songs on my iphone and they are just taking up space. How can i delete them?

They are not on the iphone in the first place. It is just a setting that allows you to see the songs that are available in icloud, but not on your iphone. If you turn the setting to off, then you no longer see the songs that are in icloud, but NOT on your iphone.

Can't delete or edit an old e-mail account

I just upgraded my iPhone from 1.1.4 to 2.0 and I had an old (inactive) e-mail account in on my phone. Now I can't remove it, edit it or do anything with it, it's just there. And when I try to open the Mail application it just hangs for 5 seconds and then closes it self.
I even tried using iTunes to remove the e-mail account by doing a sync with Mail Accounts in iTunes but then iTunes comes up with an error: "iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iPhone "My iPhone" because the mail accounts are in use by the iPhone."
Is this possibly a glitch in the software upgrade? Does some one know how I can fix this?

I have one of the older pink creative zen micro's and I want to delete all of my songs from it as most of them are really old and I want to put some new ones on there. However, I have recently got a new computer so lost my installation of the zen micro and I cannot find the disc for it so I cannot install it.
The only way I can find to delete them all is delete them all indivually but this is going to take ages. Is there a faster way to do so?

for the past few days i've been trying to fix this problem. i've looked everywhere and tried the 5 r's and everything but its not changing anything
once i add files in itunes to my ipod, i can't edit them or delete them or pretty much do anything to them. across the bottom where it says how much space there's left, i see a lock and i think that's what's keeping me from not being able to edit anything, but i don't know how to get rid of it.
if anyone could help me out here, i'd appreciate it so much

Did you ever figure out how to remove the lock icon from the bottom of the iTunes screen? I just developed the same problem after I used the latest iPod updater...I think it has something to do with the name of your iPod and the name that iTunes had when you first logged in...but I tried the 5 Rs....nothing seems to work.

I'm not sure what's wrong, and i don't know how to change it. when i click my i-pod source button, when the i-pod is plugged in, the song names appear gray, and i can't play them or delete any of them! help me please!

The only way you can do what you want is to go to iPod preferences and change from automatic update to manual.
