Can't delete tv shows since iPad 7 upgrade

Since I upgraded to iPad 7 software I can no longer delete tv shows.  I have tried to edit them and only certain series appear with an x in the corner to be deleted.  The others do not.  Any suggestions welcome.
On another note I think in general that the iPad 7 upgrade makes the icons look tacky and I wish I hadn't upgraded.
I can't close theta applications and the battery life is therefore non-existent.
Very disappointed.  Wish I could go back to original settings...

Were you or somebody else streaming these TV shows at one point? When that happens to me, I have to download the show completely to my iPad, then delete it.
If you were streaming the shows, or even if you weren't, download one of the shows and then try to delete it.

I Can't delete tv shows from the iPad. I've verified the option to show all videos (including cloud is off). I don't get the x to delete, only the iCloud symbol but there are three show definitely on the iPad.

  • Can't delete individual messages since the IOS8 upgrade.

Since the IOS8 upgrade, when trying to delete individual messages, the trash can no longer appears in the lower left corner. All that appears now is the camera and the area to write a message. I have reset all settings and rebooted multiple times. Initially after doing this the trash can will reappear. I delete some messages but then when I go back to delete more messages, the camera reappears. The only resolution I have found is to shut my phone down and restart it, but this is only a very temporary fix and is not ideal.

I have this issue also, it appears as though the Messages app is not detecting the context and switching to the right menu at the bottom. In addition, the other problems that show up when this happens are:
If you try to take a photo to send in a message, the camera app opens but the keyboard continues to cover the bottom of the screen (so you can't press the shutter button).
When you respond to an incoming message, the cursor doesn't automatically appear in the text box - you type characters, but they go nowhere. You have to actually tap once in the message box before typing.
When you tap send, even though the audio recording button isn't visible, as soon as your finger hits the screen the audio button pops up and a recording begins.
I would really like to go back to iOS 7. Even after 3 minor updates, iOS 8 is still very sloppy. Bad Apple!

You have no choice but to lose your data back to the last backup you made.
Here's how to do the recovery.  Note you may have to try to get into recovery mode more than once to succeed:

I'm sure next time, you'll be more vigilant about keeping current backups.

I can't delete apps on my iPad does anybody knows how to fix it. Also I can't open any iWork apps ,they open but won't show anything.

If the whole iPad freezes then something else is going on. Try this next. Close all apps in the recents tray and restart your iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Deleting tv shows from ipad 1

I'm not sure what the problem is...ever since I've downloaded the new OS 5.0.1, I've had problems with my ipad.  Some I haven't been able to resolve.  My latest problem is that I can't delete tv shows, music, movies, and books from the ipad 1.  I've tried highlighting the item, then right-clicking on the mouse, but there isn't a delete icon.  I've tried highlighting the item, then finding delete under the Edit button, but it's shaded.  These tv shows are taking up most of my memory and I can't get them off the gadget!  Thanks for any suggestions.

If you are trying to delete the items in iTunes on your computer (you mentioned the mouse) click on the item to highlight it and then hit the delete key on your keyboard. You will be warned that it will be removed from your device when you sync. This will delete the items permanently.
You should be able to deselect the items in iTunes and then sync again to remove them as well.
As Marian suggested you can tap and hold down on a TV Show or Movie icon on the iPad (in the videos app) and an X will popup. Tap the X to delete.
You can do the same thing with albums in the Music app as well as swiping across individual songs - Lightly with your finger left to right - to bring up the red delete button.

  • I've uploaded my pics to my PC but now I can't delete them from the iPad, the little trash can does NOT appear, PLEASE HELP I have over 6000 photos I need to delete

I've uploaded my pics to my PC but now I can't delete them from the iPad, PLEASE HELP the little trash can does NOT appear

That's because you can't delete it directly from the phone.
Since you synced not imported those pictures to your iphone using iTunes, you will need to do the opposite and unsync the pictures, in order to remove it from your phone.

  • How can you delete iOS 8 from iPad, it is using too much memory

how can i delete ios8 from my iPad? since i downloaded it my iPad is slow, pages sometimes get caught in endless loop, and is taking up all of my storage

If you haven't installed it yet, settings, general, usage, populate the whole list and you should be able to remove the installer. (last I read you could delete it, with iOS7 the installer was not able to be deleted)
If you've already installed it, Apple does not support downgrading. If you'd like to go into specific issues, maybe people here can suggest some fixes or work arounds.

  • How can I delete music from my iPad Air other than by one song at a time? I am still on iOS 7.

How can I delete music from my iPad Air other than one song at a time? I would like to delete a few albums.  I am still on iOS 7.

You can either sync the iPhone and iPad to a computer that has your music on it and make sure the U2 album is not on the computer. Or you can delete all of the music from both devices (settings > general > usage > manage storage > music. Then redownload your music from your purchase history on the iTunes store
Also the U2 album is attached to your apple id. To remove it, you will need to go here ---> https://itunes.com/soi-remove

  • I can't delete the photos in iPad 4G

I can't delete photos in my iPad 4G, I tick the photos I wanted to delete but the red delete word didn't light up. Can anyone help me?

Syncing with an empty folder would just require creating a folder - with no photos in it - and then selecting that folder only with which to sync in iTunes.  If you sync an empty folder - it replaces all of the photos on the iPad that are on the device as a result of the sync. You do not want to remove all photos I'm sure.
The bottom line with unsyncing photos is that you have to uncheck the albums in the photos tab in iTunes on the Mac and then sync again. When you uncheck - or deselect the photos - that erases them from the device when you sync.
But where are the photos that you have edited on the iPad? What album are they in? I do no photo editing so where they reside on the iPad dictates how to remove them.
Any photos in the camera roll can be deleted with the trash can icon or the arrow icon in thumbnail view on the iPad. Any other photos must be removed via the sync process. Photos in the camera roll can be imported into iPhoto or Image Capture on the Mac and then deleted from the iPad to save space on the iPad.

how can I delete photos from my ipad that came in when I connected for the first time to my pc? HELP

Photos that were synced from your computer using iTunes can only be deleted by de-selecting them from the folder from where they were synced -  and then re-syncing.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
If you want to remove all of the Photos - uncheck the Sync Photos from Heading
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
If you are using iTunes 11 - this will be helpful, Setting up syncing in Windows.

If photos were synced from your computer then they can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need to remove/de-select them from where you synced it from on your computer and re-sync.

  • I can't delete photos from my ipad

I Can't delete photos from my iPad it's like the delete key is not active Does anyone know how to fix this

I can't seem to delete ANY photos or videos from my iPad NO MATTER what I try. And they take up 4.9GB!!! There is NO WAY in **** I have that many phgotos or videos on my iPad -- when I actually go to look at the photos/videos tere are maybe 100 photos and maybe ten videos. How can that take up FIVE GB of space????
And when I go to General>Usage>Photos and Cameras my Camera Roll, Photo Library and Photo Booth are all greyed out. I can't do ANYTHING with them.
I have no idea what's going on. I go onto my laptop and open iTunes with the iPad connected -- no hekp at all. I just want to REMOVE ALL THE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS -- such as theye are, and I STILL can't believe there are almost 5GB's worth of them -- without going through all these insane hoops!!!
There should just be a simple delete button! But when I do anything in iTunes to "restore" my iPad it warns me that I migfht have to PURCHASE ALL THE APPS I HAVE AGAIN!
This is so Windows-like I can scarcely believe it's coming from Apple. I've been to a dozen "help' pages BUT NONE SEEMS TO HAVE THE SIMPLE ANSWER -- HOW DO I ERASE ALL THE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS FROM MY IPAD??????????????
