Can't delete Unused Styles

InDesign CS5.5. I can Select all unused styles but the option to delete and the trash can icom are grayed out and not selectable. What am I missing??

I have been cleaning out my music from iTunes that is doubled up or no longer wanted however now there is a good 5gb of music in my music folder that is not in my iTunes (because i wanted it deleted) is there a way of saving all my wanted music in itunes so i can delete the rest of he music and free the hard space?

To prevent having music in the iTunes folder you no longer want, delete it in iTunes and when it asks, delete it from the hard drive.
What you can do is point iTunes prefs -> Advanced to a new location, then menu Advanced -> Consolidate.
This will make a copy of only the music in your iTunes library in the new location.
Then delete the *iTunes music folder* in the old location.

I have been working for some Upgrade project. My manager asked me the way to know unused variables which are already declared in the program . But i don't know any special way to find them.
Normally for Internal tables we are using CLEAR, REFRESH AND FREE.

Hello friend,
in SE24,SE38 and SE80 there is a menu called "Refactoring" which can enable you to delete unused variable defined in your source code automatically.
Of course it is not the only functionality of this poweful tool. Please read the article below:

To delete apps, press and hold you finger over an app you wish to delete from your iPod. After a few seconds all your apps should start shaking and your purchased (free or not) should have a small X appear in the upper corner. Go ahead and click this small X to delete the App.
When you are finished press the Home button to get the Apps to show shaking. Keep in mind you are not allowed to delete any of the Apps that come with the iPod.

I can't delete a page...

I have 101 pages on my book and I need to have only 100 but I can't delete 1 page...Does anyone know how to do it ? The normal way doesn't function. I do "remove page" command it asks again if I really want to delete the page I give an OK and the page is still there....

This is book # 13 and I've not encountered this problem before. I am dragging photos into the sourse pane but they are not imported. I have other books w/ over 700 pics (not all used) but this has only 300+ so far. I've copied the book to a pdf and it looks as if I'll have to redo it unless there's another solution.

It goes something like this...
Put your new drive in the enclosure. Use Disk Utility to format it, etc. I'd give it a slightly different name than the original. Let's say you have Old Disk and New Disk as your drive names. Use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy Old Disk to New Disk. Now you should have an exact copy, which you can test by rebooting and holding down the Option key. Choose New Disk from the list and let it boot, make sure all is well.
Shut down and physically swap the drives. Take Old Disk and put it in the enclosure. Now your system has a new disk with a lot more space and you can reformat your old disk and just use it for large files or whatever.

Can't Delete (or Rename) Unused Mailboxes

Having just upgraded to Leopard, I wanted to clean up my mail and delete two unused mailboxs. Problem is, I can't delete either mailbox. Nothing happens when I select the "Delete Mailbox" command. I can't even rename them. When I try, I get an error message telling me that "Mail was unable to rename…" Seems that once a mailbox is created it can never be deleted or renamed. Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Deleting mailboxes
If you no longer need a mailbox or any of the messages it contains, you can easily delete it. Do not delete a mailbox in the Finder because the change may not appear in Mail; always use Mail to delete mailboxes.
NOTE: Deleting a mailbox permanently deletes the mailbox and its contents, and cannot be undone. If you set up Time Machine to back up files, you can use it to recover previous versions of a deleted mailbox.
Recovering mailboxes and their content
To delete a mailbox:
Select the mailbox and choose Mailbox > Delete, or Control-click the mailbox and choose Delete from the pop-up menu.

FrameMaker 10: Manage used and unused styles

Can anyone point me to a discussion of this featue? We are moving to new templates and would like to make the transition as painless as possible.

Extendscript was introduced in FrameMaker 10. Perhaps someone's already created a script for this. I'm not sure if Extendscripts can be assigned to a keyboard shortcut. Perhaps soneone on the forum can point to an existing script, and also confirm whether a script can be assigned to a KBSC.

I forgot to mention: Search Google for terms like "framemaker 10 extendscript" without quotes for info about Extendscript. Even if you don't want to add scripting to your resume, you might get some useful ideas from this link:

Deleting unused hyperlink destinations

Is there a quick way of identifying then deleting unused hyperlink destinations? I have a large document with hundreds of links which are constantly being changed and updated. Is there a way I can automatically select unused destinations and delete them (in the same way as you might do in a colour or styles palette for example). It's not essential but it would be good housekeeping! InDesign 5.0.3

control/delete (asks...are you sure??) deletes the files of the drive. just hitting delete, them takes them off the audio file list.

Is there any better and quick way to delete unused Paragraph styles and character styles in InDesign without looping the styles. Below is my created script. Its working fine.

First of all my honorable thanks for your great support valuable comments. I have checked the script and added few lines as you said. Now the script is working fine.
But conern is the script is not consider the texts in the tables of the stories. So inside the table, the text styles are also treated as unused styles and get removed.
Find the updated script below.

Removing Unused Styles in Stylesheet

This is probably a really basic question with a really basic answer, which I just can't seem to find: I can check my site for broken and orphaned links, but can I do the same for used and unused styles in my css stylesheet? The file's gotten pretty complicated and I surely have styles listed that I really am not using and could therefore delete.

Because I can't delete the icloud account, I keep getting view terms to accept and it wants to go to the old company account. I can't do anything to get rid of this - when I try to delete the icloud it wants me to delete find my ipad and asks for the old co. id and password - it's a vicious circle and i just want to get rid of it and start fresh with my regular personal email id and password!!! Help!

You will need that old Apple ID and password, which does indeed still exist. Apple doesn't delete Apple IDs, though if this ID was in the control of your company they may have changed the password. If so, you will need your former company to log into the iCloud account using that ID and password and erase the iPad or remove it from iCloud:

Until that's done you cannot change those settings, and if you try to restore the iPad will have it locked with Activation Lock and thereafter be unusable.

How to delete unused audio files in a project?

Hi guys,
The question is fairly simple:
How to delete unused audio files in a project?
I can't manage to find the answer in the manual,... all I could find is how to delete audio outside used regions!
But in the projects I use, I have loads of outtakes which I don't use in the project anymore, and now, I would like to delete them of the audio folder to save space on the HD.
Can Logic select automatically the takes in the audio files folder which are not used in the project and delete them??
Because there is hundreds of audio files per project, and +/- 50 projects, I just can't do it manually.

Whoops! Yes, I knew that but a cow flew by... Sorry!
The procedure I follow is to do what I described then Save as Project, creating a project folder. That way only the required audio is saved to the folder and I delete all temporary stuff. However, if you have folders with shared material, it's much harder and would require you to go through all your projects doing Save as Project before you could delete your old working folder.
When doing day to day work, best practice is to create a new folder and only use Save as Project when you're working on stuff. Shared material (eg sample libraries etc) can go elsewhere and you can get Logic to copy those to the project folder automatically.
Otherwise, Shift-Backspace in the Audio window, as you rightly say
