Can't delete VPN profiles

I can't delete any VPN profile from my original ipad. I go to Settings> General>Networks>VPN, but there is no red Delete button at the bottom of the configuration window. A hard restart makes no difference. I'm running a fully updated original iPad. TIA for suggestions.

I had the same problem with a VPN app that installed 50+ VPN configs. It seemed that the configs were registered but not the VPN profile such that the removal of the configs is virtually impossible.
I tried the followings with no success:
- overwrite the VPN configs
- reset Network Settings
- reset All Settings
- factory reset with backup restore (factory reset with no backup restore it does work but it was not a solution for me)
Finally, I found a simple (not elegant) solution to get rid of the VPN configs:

I understand it is frustrating that the current profile can't be deleted, I'll try my best to help you in this case.
You mentioned Mail was not in Control Panel, but I still would like to confirm if you had tried to search the word "mail" from Control Panel:
I usually input "mail" from the search box in Control Panel and then "Mail" pops up. We can remove the old profile from there and add a new one.
If you can't search "mail" in Control Panel, please let me know your Office and Windows version. Basically once we install Outlook the "mail" should exist. You can try repairing Office from Control Panel to check the result.

How can i delete a profile in ios 6

i am havin an ipod touch. i downloaded a profile of freemyapps .after sometime i decided to delete the profile.so when i went to settings>general i cant find the profile

I know exactly what you are asking. All you have to do is go to settings then safari then press clear cookies and Data. This will delete teh freemyapps profile. To check just go to the webpage and you will see it will ask to register your device.

during the import of a Role, the CR logs reports :
Profile xxxx for role yyy was not imported
Errors occurred during post-handling PRGN_AFTER_IMP_ACTGROUP_ACGR for ACGR L
In the PFCG of destination system, the yyy Role appears without a Profile name (Authorization -> .
But looking in the SUIM, the Profile name xxx is linked to yyy Role.
I tried to delete the role and import again the CR, but i had the same error.
Can i delete a Profile Name ?

E71 - VPN - Cisco VPN Profile

I got a Nokia E71 recently, I was able to successfully setup mail and the device is good.
Now, I am trying to setup the VPN in the device to connect to my organizations network. I need helping setting the VPN.
My organization uses Cisco VPN; I have installed the Cisco VPN client in my laptop and I can locate the VPN profile files [.pcf]. The pcf file is of the format given in the link : https://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/vpn_client/cisco_vpn_client/vpn_client46/linux_solaris/use...
I have installed the Nokia Configuration Tool and the "Nokia Mobile VPN Client Policy Tool".
I have read bunch of pdf files about to 'how to setup', but I could not get the exact steps regarding this.
Can someone please give me exact steps what I should follow to setup VPN in E71 using the VPN profile file?

Apologies I don't have answer but I am trying to achieve something similar and thought as the topics were so close...... I was looking at leveraging the Nokia VPN IPSEC, but it appears to me that going down a SSL-VPN solution would be easier for my Company.
Does anyone know if the E71 can support an SSL-VPN or will I have to do the IPSEC.

Can no longer open two Firefox tabs, have close using Task Bar/Processes. Some links won't activate on websites. As per support suggestion,have backed up profile, deleted existing profile, removed firefox and replaced thingsetc

Can no longer open two Firefox tabs at the same time. Will disappear from screen but won't close - have to go to Task Bar/ Processes to close it, some links won't activate on websites. As suggested in the support area I have gone through the process of backing up my profile, deleted existing profile, removed firefox from computer, reinstalled profile in fresh folder, reinstalled firefox 6. I have done this twice for no effect - may work as it used to for a while (30mins) then gets back to its old tricks.
It is a bit irritating.

How can I delete a fixed profile rule in a Linksys ATA?

I have a Linksys SPA2100 ATA that I used with a previous VoIP provider. I did a factory reset but their profile rule is still listed in the first Profile Rule section under the Provisioning tab. Profile Rule B, C and D are blank and I can enter a profile rule in there but I can't delete the main profile rule because it is fixed. I can't highlight it and delete it for some reason. There must be another way to delete this profile. This is what is listed there minus the name of the provider. I attached a screen shot too. Thanks.

Take a look at your SPA2102's Voice tab > Info tab > Product Information > Customization:
It should contain "Open"
If not, you've got what is known as an "RC-unit" which is what we sell to many service providers allowing them to customize and lock the unit down. Given that you've got admin access, try the following [but don't be disappointed if it doesn't work]:
1. Enable debug on the SPA2102
2. Write a simple config file called spa2102.cfg whose contents include:

3. Save the spa2012.cfg file in the root of your TFTP server
4. Start the TFTP server
5. Start Wireshark on the subnet to which the ATA is connected
6. Power-cycle the ATA
7. Once it's booted, try and force a resync of your ATA using your browser: htttp://ataIPaddress/admin/resync?tftp://ipAddrOfTftpServer/spa2102.cfg
8. Verify with Wireshark that the ATA requested and received the /spa2102 file
9. Use a browser to determine if your config file overwrote the grayed-out Profile_Rule in the web-UI

I deleted my profile (the whole thing!)--can't access Profile Mgr. It is not missing or there to be recovered. Uninstall/reinstall nor terminal commands help.

I deleted my profile. I've tried online things such as a)restarting computer b)deleting and reinstalling Firefox c)entering in command at Terminal : /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -profilemanager and even dropping off "- bin" as also suggested. There is not profile and no profile manager. I got into this mess as Firefox had continued to open up window after window and locking up so I could not even get to Preferences without windows burying it and computer locking. After inadvertently deleting my whole profile, I now install Firefox and it doesn't open saying that Firefox is currently open.

Can you open [http://osxdaily.com/2010/08/15/mac-task-manager/ Activity Monitor] and look any firefox processes or plugin-manager processes and force quit them all? You said Firefox doesn't open because there's a message saying that Firefox is currently open.
The main reason for that would be if a firefox process has been stuck in memory this entire time. Although I don't know how a running firefox process would survive a computer restart. So I'm stumped there. The parent.lock file is another file responsible for the "Firefox is currently open" message, you could try searching for it & erasing that as well.
The very last thing we could try is installing Firefox Portable. In most crazy cases like this, that gets Firefox up and running.
But it's stuck at Firefox version 4.0.1 which is super old.

But I think you can use the update feature with Firefox 4.0.1 to upgrade to Firefox 12 within the portable application. Going to '''Help > About Firefox''' should auto check for a update and download it to Firefox Portable.

I want to delete an email account and start over. Sounds easy, right? No. There is no "delete" option when I click on the account. Othere email accounts, yes, but not this one. Resetting User Account Password (10.7 +)
1) Boot into your Recovery Partition holding down command + R at the startup chime
2) Select 'Terminal' from your Utilities Menu Bar
3) Type the following bolded command in: resetpassword
4) From the window that appears, select your boot volume and the appropriate user account
5) Type in the new password and confirm the new password
6) Click Save, close this pane and quit Utilities
7) Select your boot volume when presented with choose startup disk and reboot your machine

win 7 pro, old computer was hit by lightning, hd was ok. replaced computer & had all files transfered to new computer, still can't get old profile, address book & emails w/ folders. where to look? tried search on start no luck just current profile

well did they get transferred? Some shops do not transfer the contents of the appdata folders as they are hidden when they "transfer all data"

Remove old VPN profiles installed via Config Utility?

I've got an iPhone 4S running iOS 6. It has two VPN profiles that were created via Configuration Utility profiles. These two VPN profiles are no longer used, but I can't seem to find a way to remove them.
In Settings -> VPN, if you tap the blue arrow next to the profiles themselves, the only option available is the "Connec On Demand" On/Off switch. There is no "Delete VPN" button.
In Settings -> General -> Profiles, nothing is listed for me to remove.
How can I delete these two unused profiles?

Having same problems.
There is no such setting as "Profile" in General, but the old profile is invisible. The Cisco AnyConnect app says there is no profile either.
This "invisible" profile was installed on my old 3GS in order to block data transfer using 3G etc. Since the new iOS updates and then iPhone 5 update the option "Profile" in setting has dissapeared.
But it's still somewhere and it's still blocking my data connection. It's weird. I don't know how to get rid of it.

You can't delete it as an option in settings, but I'm guessing you have a VPN connection set up, which can be deleted. Try this:
    Open the Settings App
    Select General
    Tap on VPN (its in the thrid group of setting)
    Tap on the VPN configuration
    Tap Delete VPN.
OR
    Go to settings
    General
    Scroll down and select Profiles
    Select the profile and tap Delete
