Can't display web page

Created a Web application with no problem
Created root site collection and a site under the root with no problem
Open the sub site and did some work on the site.
Went to get back in and am now getting " The page can be displayed"
Same with root
Created another subcollection site with no problem but getting same error.
All other sites in the farm are working.
I have rebooted everything, Sharepoint, IIS .
Any ideas are appreciated.

Hi Dave,
Make sure you have the correct URL, goes without saying, but have to mention it, sorry.
Look in inetmgr and make sure that IIS web sites are turned on, not sure why they would be off, but stranger things can happen.
If you have publishing infrastructure turned on for this site:
insure that the portalsuperuser and portalsuperreader accounts are domain based and not accidentally local.

take a look at <siteUrl>/_layouts/changesitemasterpage.aspx and select a master page that exists (this only works if publishing infrastructure is enabled in your site and site collection)
or, possibly check in your site recycle bin <siteUrl>/_layouts/Recyclebin.aspx for the missing pages, in which case this is post is not the answer.

My previous post had the detail...Probably a simple question from a relative novice. I'm having a problem just viewing web pages by calling them from a "list" of URLs in an applet. I built an applet with a split pane that has a JTree on one side and an "HTML viewing pane" on the other. I can click JTree nodes to display local html files, but I don't understand how to display web pages from the Internet. Do I need something like HyperlinkListener to make the jump to "hyper-world"???

Originally worked fine displayed web page withOUT a problem FOR OVER A YEAR. Starting in Jan 2008 (just after warranty EXPIRED) it just reports "cannot display web page" Using my Xp computer I can get all of the web pages to respond.
Using internal checks on the Lenovo 3000J it reports everything is OK.
I can receive updates on this computer and just today I installed all updates through 4/20/2008. Windows Upgrade works fine on the Lenovo. However I cannot access the web otherwise. I am typing this message on my Xp. Computer because I have not been able to get a webpage to display on the Lenovo
I want to stay with Vista Home Premium however HOW CAN I GET THE WEB PAGE TO DISPLAY ?

Thanks for the helf. I disabled the firewall which is norton. and then rebooted still not able to display the web-page. However I may have gotten closer to the problem.
When I select "Properties" from the file menu on the "Cannot display page" I get the following address:
res://ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm#http://www.yahoo.com
Of course it cannot display this page because it does not exist. The page I tried to load was http://www.yahoo.com when I select this page on my Xp computer it loads correctly and under file- properties -address http://www.yahoo.com and all is well with the world.
For some reason on my Lenovo Vista Home Premium Computer Internet EXployer is inserting
"res://ieframe.dll/dnserror#http://www.yahoo.com

Is there any way to edit the standard Firefox context menu for displayed Web pages?

Is there any way to edit the standard Firefox context menu for displayed Web pages? I frequently want to save a picture appearing on a page. Sometimes I "slip" and hit "Send Image" when I want "Save Image As", and have to sit and wait for a default send-mail page to come up, then close it, fiddling with its "are you sure" dialogs. This is a painful way to handle a slip-up. I basically NEVER want to e-mail an element directly from a page. Is there any way I can just delete "Send Image" from the context menu?

1.1.3 problems displaying web pages

After updating (and paying $20) to 1.1.3 Safari on my iTouch is now not displaying web pages nicely. Most don't fully load. Some load as text instead of html. Often I get "can't locate server." even for CNN and Apple.com. Google search doesn't work.
All these pages load to some degree but something is missing?!?!?
"Cannot connect to YouTube"
"Error Retrieving Chart" when trying to get stocks from Yahoo widget.
Anyone else having these issues??

Misery loves company..... I'm having the EXACT same symptoms. The Weather app also gets a failure trying to update. It's even erratic trying to access the iTunes on my iPod. Most times, I get an unable to connect to server message after it appears some items are downloaded. On Mail, it works, but even though I'm accessing Gmail via POP, after accessing it okay it then tries to access via IMAP, and gives me an error. And it sometimes will give me an entry saying "Download next 25...." and shows me I have a few million unread emails. But if I tap that entry it goes away. I'm also using a WRT54ag, but I really have a problem having to swap this out to get wireless going again. Hopefully, Apple will come to the rescue before I decide I need to go down that path. I also tired to restore the iPod, but after a few minutes it told me it couldn't restore. I've seen workarounds for that, but.... Anyway, at least I know I'm not hallucinating all these quirky problems.

Since I downloaded and installed adobe reader 10, I can't see web page pdf files in safari but I can copy and paste into firefox and I can see the pdf. How can I fix this?

Quit Safari.
Go to /Library/Internt Plug-Ins.
Move the AdobePDFViewer.plugin to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari.

I can not print web pages with my HP Deskjet 5440. I use Vista, no error page, just prints a blank page with headers and footers. Recently reinstalled printer driver from HP.

I would like to assist you today with resolving this colour printing issue. To be honest, it does sound like Mac may have loaded the generic Apple Airprint driver on your printer rather then the HP Full Feature Software and Driver package. Should this be the case then you will only have basic print capabilities. Please follow the steps below to confirm that your HP Officejet is utilising the correct driver on your Mac.
1. Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences. 2. Click Print & Scan, and then check if the name of your printer displays in the Printers list. 3. Click the name of your printer, click the minus sign (), and then delete the printer.  4. Click the plus sign (), click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer, 5. Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select the name of your printer in the pop-up menu. Ensure that the Officejet driver is selected and not the Airprint driver.
  6. Click Add to add the printer to the list.  Once your printer has been installed with the correct HP driver, please test printing a colour photo to confirm that the issue has been resolved. Basic troubleshooting steps oultlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
You need to go through all steps in succession until your problem is solved. If going through ALL these steps fails to resolve your issue, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

Can't add web page to existing document

I am new to Acrobat 9 Pro (running on Win7). I love the feature where you can convert a web page to pdf and then add a wab page to an existing document. My probelm is that I saved one page as a pdf then went to a different link on that website that appears very similar and tried to add that page to the first one. As many times as I tried, my second page will not appear.
I did try going to an entirely different website and adding a page to the very same document and I was successful.
Is it possible that the program won't add the similar page because it is recognizing the page to be the same? Is there a setting to override this? I need to be able to save multiple web pages that appear the same way to one document quickly and easily.

Thank you for your response. It is possible to do this but I need the 'Add web page to existing doc' feature to work for me. I will be converting a large number of similar pages to pdf and this feature would be perfect if it worked as it is intended. Going back later to insert pages is counter-productive for me.

First of all, update Firefox to 3.6.17 via Help | Check For Updates.
There was a security breach at Comodo which is an SSL certificate provider recently whereby a number of fraudulent certificates were inadvertently issued. These allow a hacker to impersonate any site including online banking and the Firefox version you're running at the moment will not warn you that the site is a fake. The fraudulent certificates were blacklisted in v3.6.17 and beyond.
To uninstall the Yahoo Toolbar, go to Tools | Add-ons | Extensions. You should find it in there.
To revert to Google as your preferred search engine, please do the following.
* In the location bar, type '''about:config''' and hit Enter.
* In the filter at the top, type: '''keyword.URL'''
* Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q=
The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.

You won't see anything obviously related to iCloud, Jimmy. But if you go to the home iTunes Store page while logged into your iTunes Store account, you should see a Purchases link now under the Quick Links header. That's the only part of iCloud active at this time.
