Can't do a Full export to iDVD...

Here's the story: Imported video from my cam. Because of a dead spot, iMovie stopped importing so I had to go in and import the rest of the movie--so far no problem. Added transitions between the clips, fixed the title screen, saved, and then went to create an iDVD. iDVD only pulls in, at best, 51 of my 89 clips. Not sure what is happening as I've done this a few times--the only difference is the adding of clips from the tape I had to do this time. So how do I get iDVD to pull in all of my clips and have the links to scenes on the title page I usually get?
Thanks for any help and sorry in advance if this has been answered elsewhere!

Hi John
a. if You have drop outs on Your tape you might try to import with the function
"import as individual clips" turned off in iMovie pref.
You get big chunks but it seems to handle dropouts better and this is also
a way to try if the movie was recorded in LP-mode which invites drop-outs.
b. If You used "Share to iDVD" function from within iMovie You might try this
instead:
- close iMovie
- open iDVD and select a theme
- drop Your movie icon (with a star on it) just inside the edge of the theme
window.

  • Can't view imovie after exporting to idvd

    After I exported/shared my iMovie with iDVD, I am unable to view the movie. I can hear the audio and see the first still picture of the movie, but all the video clips are black. What should I do?

    I can't run iMovie '08, fortunately, so I'm not of much help to you...

  • Full export - BU and workbooks

    Hi!
    How can I do a full export of the EUL which includes the business areas as well as the workbooks? We are migrating to a new box and I created the EUL with Disc Admin on the new box. But an export through the wizard (on the old box) only takes the BU metadata and not the workbooks. I know you can do it from the command line, but then you have to specify the workbook and we have 60! Any ideas?
    Kind Regards
    Marlene

    Hi Marlene
    You must be working on either 3.1 or 4.1 from where you cannot automatically export the workbooks. I do have a white paper though that might help a little.
    Email me on [email protected] and I will send it to you.

  • Slideshow from Iphoto? Can I burn a slideshow from Iphoto to dvd? When I export to Idvd it changes all my settings and transitions.

    Trying to burn a slideshow to dvd.I can get it just the way I want in Iphoto,but when I send it to Idvd,it changes akk the transition settings.Help?

    Try exporting the slideshow as a QT movie file.  It should keep all of your transitions, etc. and then you can drag the QT file into the iDVD menu being careful to avoid any drop zones.

  • Can't export to iDVD

    I used to do this with no problem. When I try to export to iDVD I get the following error "The movie could not be sent to iDVD, because of an unknown error. Please make sure that iDVD is properly installed, that your disk has write permission, and that you have enough disk space. (Error 0)." I have almost 17GB free plus another 200GB on an external HD. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Hi
    This is a forum where most of us is just consumers - not Apple employe.
    Trying to help each other.
    When dropping the movie icon into the theme window it can land in two
    areas.
    one which will give the movie title - this to click on when wanting to view the movie and
    one that works like a display area button that show up a part of the movie
    on the intro-menu.
    Check where You dropped the movie icon.
    To delete iDVD pref file and then start a new fresh iDVD project might also help.

    Reading the older questions, is there a way in which a full screen slide show (such as places or geotagged photo's) can be saved and/or exported for viewing by another party?

    Yes. Just export the slideshow and select your preferred output size.

  • How can recover database using only Full Export ?

    Hi,
    I have one query , i have only Full export is given database , after full export sucessfully
    database Crash by mistacally, how can recover it, i have only export is given no backup is taken (RMAN,COLD or HOT) statergy is use , How can recover it.

    You need to recreate the database from scratch as imp requires a working database.
    You could already do this by transforming the results from
    'alter database backup controlfile to trace', a trace file containing a 'create controlfile' statement, into a 'create database' script.
    After that step you apply your import. Everything after that import is lost forever.
    One would ask for a sanity check of management and personell of a company, which has no backup strategy in place.

    So it is cutting off the end at 59 minutes?  How large is the file that is being exported?  You may be running up against a file size limitation.

  • Sides of Keynote presentation cut off when exported to iDVD

    Hi,
    I have a keynote presentation with the slides set to 800X600 that I am trying to burn to a DVD. I am able to burn fine but when it plays on my DVD player and CRT Samsung TV, the sides of the slides are cut off so that the first and last letters of many lines are not viewable. I also tried on a friend's TV with the same results The DVD looks fine when playing on my iMac but it's widescreen.
    I first tried exporting the keynote presentation as a quicktime movie set to full quality 800X600. The next time I exported to iDVD which first exported to a quicktime movie with a size of 720X540. I thought that would fix it but that presentation also has the sides cut off. The iDVD project is using a standard 4:3 aspect ration. Should I try a widescreen project or won't that make more of the slide disappear. Any help would be much apprecitated.

    Your problem is that while on a monitor, you can see the entire picture. Any DVD player connected to a standard television is going to show, at most, 90% of the image...some may only show 80%. This is due to something called Overscan on televisions. To account for this overscan, you have to make sure that as you're creating your presentation, you have nothing near the edges.
    A good rule of thumb is to create an area that's 80% of the size of your presentation (in 4:3 resolutions, widescreen, you only have to worry about the right and left) and, as you're creating, keep dropping this shape onto your presentation slides to make sure you're inside it. Then, you'll be pretty sure that even on the worst televisions, all you information will show.

  • PIXELATED IMAGES AFTER EXPORT TO IDVD

    Help! I'm confused and frustrated. I have imported 65 images from iPhoto to iMovie and added titles, music and a few transitions. The movie plays fine in iMovie full screen on my 20 inch iMac. After exporting to Idvd project a number of the images (most) are pixelated and even more confusing (at least to me), when I return to the original iMovie (which was great before the export) now those images are pixelated also. WHAT IS GOING ON? , how can I avoid this? Hope I am in the right forum.
    imac g5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Bengt: Right now I'm jubilant. Tried your methodology, and results were beautiful. Good burn and no JAGGIES. Then made a disc image and tried a burn from that. Great. If this continues I owe you a "GREAT BIG THANK YOU!!" I have been struggling with this problem far to long. Next I want to try adding some more complex transitions and perhaps some Ken Burns and hoping to see the same SMOOTHE lines. Too bad more people don't know about this for I see others posting about pixelation.
    For now, I remain grateful.

  • How can I create a full-screen view of Keynote slide in Snow Leopard?

    How can I create a full-screen view of my Keynote slides in Snow Leopard?
    I'm going to be importing into ScreenFlow to create a video.
    Thank you!!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
    Do you want static screen captures or motion video of slides as titles, bullet points, and the like are presented?
    Run the Keynote slide presentation in full-screen mode, then...
    Static full-screen captures - use Command+Shift+3.
    Static partial-screen captures - use Command+Shift+4 and use cursor to select the area of the screen to capture.
    If you want motion video as builds occur, why not use Keynote's built-in Share, Export function?
    (I'm on iLife '09.)
    Also understand that the default slide format for Keynote is 1024x768, not full-screen MacBook 1280x800 screen size, so you'll have wide black borders unless you change the default size or crop the finished screen captures.

  • How to do a full export and exclude user specific tables

    Hi all,
    Is it possible to export all objects but one (or more) tables with expdp when doing a full export?
    This is what I've to in mind: (parfile)
    directory=expdp
    dumpfile=full.dmp
    logfile=full.elog
    full=y
    exclude=table:"IN('userA.table_A')"
    This par-file does not encounter any error messages but it doesn't exclude table_A in schema userA either.
    I guess that's because the the term userA is not interpreted as an owner.
    It's not a big deal to filter out a table when doing a schema export.
    I wonder whether it is at all possible do except a table from a full export. If so, I'd value your suggestions.
    Regards,
    Louis

    Louis,
    The exclude parameter in DataPump takes only the object name, not the schema name. So, if you only have one table called 'TableA', then you can just use:
    exclude=table:"IN('table_A')"
    If you have more than one table called 'table_A', then the exclude will exclude all of them. There is no way to specify user_1.table_a with an exclude parameter.

  • When I make a project in iDVD'09, there are sometimes green blocs with points flickering in some scenes of my iMovie-film. In iMovie there is no problem with this film, but the problem begins by exporting to iDVD and making a project there.

    Hi
    Can be a problem that get multiplied and visible when iDVD encode for DVD.
    A. See if problem can be isolated to a single frame in the movie and re-import this clip and see if it's better
    B. When free space on Start-Up hard disk goes low - strange things like this might occure. I never go under 25Gb free space on this Start-Up Mac OS hard disk !
    C. Does this problem arises what ever encoding quality You use ?

  • Iphoto slideshow Turned slides when exported to iDVD

    Some photos are turned after export to iDVD, how can that be? More importantly how to fix, the slide show looks fine in iPhoto. The image quality is another issue and I'll follow the iMovie thread because I have 353 slides using 19GB in iPhoto. Why are photos being turned?
    G4 400 AGP graphics upgraded to 1GHZ & Radeon 8500   Mac OS X (10.4.10)   500 Gig FW 800 back up drive, ESATA 1.5 TB, DVR 109

    James:
    They are being turned because for some reason iDVD is taking the Original version instead of the rotated version in the Modified folder. These are portrait photos from a camera with auto-rotate capability. I suggest you try exporting the rotated version to a folder on the desktop, drop then into an open Safari window to make sure they are truly rotated and then import them and replace the problem versions.
    This can be circumvented by uploading to a folder on the desktop first, previewing the photos in Preview of some other application and then rotating them with a 3rd party application. I use PhotoToolCM which is a Contextual Menu application that will losslessly rotate the photos.
    You might try rebuilding the library as follows: launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options. Next add some photos to iDVD and see if they are correct. You can also drag the thumbnails from iPhoto into the open iDVD slideshow window and try it that way.
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
