Can't Download Any iTunes
So, iTunes messed up my 2nd gen. iPod (click wheel). Sound slike it's giving a lot of people ****. Had a otn of problems with it and my iPod so I figured if I could just delete iTunes 7 and get the older version back, then I could have muy iPod functional and wait for Mac to pull its collective head out of its *** and do something, which would be GREAT. Anyway,I deleted iTunes 7 and tried to DL itunes 6.0.5 and it said that there was nothing to be installed. I deleted EVERYTHING iTunes form my computer and re-tried it. Still, it was to no avail. At this point, I figure a bad iTunes is better than no iTunes, so I try to download 7 again but it said the exact same thing; that there was nothing to be installed. There is no iTunes on my computer and it appears I can't download it at all. If there's anyone who could give me some advice, you may be saving the life of a Macbook. Thanks a ton.
Go to HD>Library>Receipts> and remove iTunesX.pkg. Then try to reinstall what ever version of iTunes you want.
I have 7.0.1 and OSX 10.4.8 - a second gen iPod as well as a iPod Photo and all is well. I am having no problems.
Is your iPod software/firmware up to date?

HT201272 Switched to new Mac (10.7.5) and now can't download any iTunes purchases.
Since I've switched to my new Mac, I can't download any of the (music) purchases I make. (I used a cable between the two Macs to make the original transfer of "all my stuff" from the old Mac to the new, so the iTunes stuff I had then is on the new Mac.)
I can see the download buttons, but when I push them, it stops it immediately and tells me I don't have the authority to do it.
I'm the sole person on the iTunes account. It doesn't matter whether I make the purchase on the new or the old computer. I even tried deauthorizing the old computer, so that the only one on the account is the new one, and it still won't let me download what I purchase. I did find something where I originally only had Read privileges, but I added Write as well, so that should be OK. Not sure what else to try.OK, I'm replying to my own question, because I've figured it out... sort of.
It seems that when I transferred computers, it set up my e-mail/Apple ID as a separate user! Why it did this, I have no idea.
I went into the User folder and found that I was barred from accessing any of the stuff under that ID. It was not enough to simply give myself Read & Write permission; I also had to use the little pulldown under the gear symbol that applied it to all the items IN the folder.
No idea why It would do this, but now it seems to have downloaded my stuff—at least some of it. (I know that one album is missing a song—?!) I'll have to check more completley later to make sure that it's ALL there. -
HELP! I can't download any iTunes updates from my browser!
HELP! I've been trying in vain to download the iTunes updates as they come out. When I click on the update button, I am taken to the download page on the apple site. There I see two separate collums: On the right, a blue collum describing the new features of iTunes, on the left, a collum where I am to enter my user info and click download... only my browser doesn't let me enter any information or click any download button; there is nothing there to enter! That collum is blank. I've had to go onto another computer and download the software and THEN burn it onto a CD. HELP ME!!! This also happens when I try to download any new iPod software update too.
This happens both when I use the latest versions of IE and FireFox.well done, Philip!
I went ahead and entered apple.com into my safe list in Privacy Service, so hopefully that will stop it from happening. If not, at least I know how to get around it.
that's a good idea. a version of this problem also hits the ipod software updater download page. so if you ever need a copy of that, and you can't see the download buttons there, the same trick should work for you.

Here is what happened to me several times. I'm not computer savy, **** it.

I click yes then it says, "+Apple Mobile Device requires that your computer is running Windowns XP SP@ or newer+"
I'm running both, so I'm confused...

At least that is what Apple says. There has been reports in past for older versions of iTunes of ways to fool the system. Can't verify though. -
I have tried everything with resetting it etc etc. I don't have a problem with my ipad 3 or laptop, just getting the tracks onto the iPhone? Any help would be appreciated.
Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network. -
My dad got this iPhone for me a few months ago as a gift since I had a really awful phone before. The only thing is, I can't seem to upgrade it to the latest software without it telling me it's already updated to iOS 4 or something like that. (I would be able to give you the exact iOS version, but ever since connecting my iPhone to iTunes, my phone isn't responding so I can't check the settings or anything.) I can't download any apps (I get an error message saying the software on my phone is too old) and so I pretty much am extremely limited to what I can do on this phone. I'm very frustrated at this point and incredibly displeased with Apple's products.
If someone could please explain to me why this is happening and what I can do to fix it, I'd be extremely grateful.

If you have a 3G you cannot update beyond iOS 4.2.1. The 3G is over 4 years old an was discontinued over 2 1/2 years ago. You need the latest ios to run the latest versions of some apps. If you have a 3GS you can update.
If your phone is not responding, reset it by pressing and holding down both the home button ad lock/ sleep button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. -

I created an Apple ID on my iPhone, but I can not download any application because a message appears saying that iTunes store can not login. The strange thing is that my Apple ID works perfectly when I try to access my icloud browser on my iMac and even I join this forum. I login with my ID system icloud without problems! Why can not I download applications? What relationship has between iTunes store and iCloud?
You cannot download the same Apps that you have on your iPhone. They are two seperate stores.
The store you have on your iPhone is the same for any iDevice (iPad, iPhone and iPod)
The store on your MacBook is only for Macs. -

iCloud storage has absolutely nothing to do with local storage. You need to free up space on the iPad in order to download the movies. You can transfer some content into iTunes and then delete it from the iPad in order to make room on the device.
Settings>General>Usage>Storage is where you delete content if you want to do it in there. -

My itunes store will not load. There are no error messages. It loads half way, then stops. My internet is working fine. I can't download any songs.
There are at least 20 threads pertaining to this problem (some from last year, one I saw was from 2006). You may want to try resetting Winsock as a temporary fix.
1. To do so, please do the following in an administrator user:
Windows Vista and Windows 7: Right click All Programs and choose Accessories > Command Prompt. Choose to open as an administrator.
Windows XP: Click Start > Run and type in cmd.
2. Enter the following command:
netsh winsock reset
3. Restart the computer and test the issue.
Note: If the issue returns, third-party software may be reinserting the LSP. -

Sign in with a different Apple ID
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
Tap your Apple ID.
If you see the option to Sign In, you can change your Apple ID now.
Tap Sign Out.
Enter your Apple ID and Password and tap Sign In.

You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
