CAN'T DOWNLOAD ANYTHING OR PLAY VIDEOS

About four months ago, I bought a new Toshiba Satellite L-455D-55976 laptop. From day one, anytime I try to download anything, it will download part of the file, then stop after anywhere from 1% - 7% is downloaded. Usually, though it doesn't make it past 4%. Playing videos is the same. I can play part of a video, then it will just stop and never loads the rest of it.
I use a Belkin wireless router, but when I plug directly into it using an ethernet cable, the result is the same. My wife runs a 2 1/2 year old Acer Aspire off the same router, and with much less memory than mine, can play videos and download anything she wants, so the problem is my computer.
I am at my wits end with this. I have tried many things including downloading in safe mode, but the result is the same. If I can't get a solution soon, I am ready to return the computer and get another brand of computer. I don't know if this is a Toshiba problem or a Windows 7 problem.
Anyone have any ideas?

Sometimes AV software causes that sort of thing. Just to be sure it's not due to hardware, I would restore the hard disk to its original factory-new state using Toshiba recovery media.

Have you tried deleting the App within the Settings menu (rather than from the Home Screen)?
Settings>General>Usage>
From the Apps list, find the App (press "Show all Apps" if the app is not in the immediately shown list), tap on the app you wish to delete, then tap "Delete App"

If you have a compatible video file, you can add it to your iTunes library by dragging it to the iTunes window, or by using the command
iTunes menu bar -> File -> Add to Library...
If the video is in a format that iTunes can play, it should be imported and appear as a new item in the iTunes Movies library.
It may not be playable on the nano directly, because of its format. For example, if it's "HD," the resolution is too high for a nano's screen. If it plays in iTunes, but not on the nano, you can use the command to covert it. Select the item in a list and then
iTunes menu bar -> File -> Create New Version -> Create iPod or iPhone Version
That version should play on an iPod nano. NOTE: Some videos downloaded from the iTunes Store cannot be converted to a lower resolution format, because they have DRM (copy protection).

Again, this only affects you if someone *redownloaded* content with a different ID. In my case, I emailed iTunes Store support, explained the situation, and they reset the counter. I recommend you try the same
If you read discussion boards, this is a significant change from a year ago, when Apple told people in the same situation to go f&$# themselves. Clearly it's dawning on them that this is a stupid policy, and my guess is if people keep complaining they'll change it to something more reasonable. Remember, it wasn't that long ago you couldn't re-download content at all.
Apple can't really afford to play hardball on this. Sure, the hardcore fanboys will always say "Thank you sir, may I have another" whatever Apple throws at them, but the rest of us will just switch to Amazon, which has none of these restrictions.

Can't download anything from iTunes Store

I have an iPhone 5 running on IOS 6. Everything is working fine, except for I can't download anything from the iTunes Store. I can't download music, TV programs, or films. I'm pretty sure I can't download podcasts either. I can download apps absolutely fine, just not anything from the iTunes Store. As soon As I press download, it downloads as normal, but as soon as it reaches the end and says processing, as normal, it just sort of finishes. It doesn't end up in my music or videos folder. I also can't transfer any music or media from my computer to the device. As I said apps and photos and everything else is running fine.
Has anyone else had the problem? Any solutions?

It does indeed sound to me like that hotspot either blocks connections to the iTunes Store (quite possibly to prevent people from loading their connection up with large downloads) or has a routing problem. In either case there's probably nothing you can do other than to just use a different hotspot, though you can talk to the cafe and ask them if they're indeed blocking the iTunes Store; that would at least let you know for sure.

Try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
If that doesn't work:
• Log out of your iTunes store account. Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
• After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

Are you listing the billing address for the card correctly? The address in the iTunes/MAS account must match the address on your bill exactly.

I can't download anything as it keeps telling me my start up disk is full. I have deleted loads of files and it still keeps popping up with the same messge??

How big is your hard drive, and how much space is used/free?
To find out, click once on the hard drive icon on your desktop to highlight it (it will be called Macintosh HD unless you renamed it). Click the command and I keys on your keyboard to open the information window. In "General", you will see Capacity and Available. What are those figures?
If you have a little bit of space left, I recommend that you install Omnidisksweeper (it's free) to tell you what folders are using up the most room.
Be careful when you transfer files - only move files that you know are yours. Don't move or delete any system files unless you're specifically recommended to do so (some files are safe to delete; some are not).

Same here on my lpad2. Can access the web just fine from browsers but cannot install new apps or updates in appl store. Seeing a few others reporting same issue tonight so likely an apple server issue and staff will notice it in network monitors and fix it...sometime this weekend.

It is the same for the app store. You are required to have some sort of payment method in the record.

Your apps were purchased under the old ID, so they will have to be deleted and re-purchased/downloaded under your new one.
