Can't download .cvs files from brokerage account

I am the admin on my OS X MacBook Air yet everytime I try to download an excel file or .cvs file from my brokerage account I can not open it. I get a error message that says I do not have permission for this. I was able to download these files on a PC using Windows 7 with no problem. Any suggestions as how to correct this in OS X?? thanks

Thanks Barney-15E Here's the error message I keep getting, " The file you chose could not be opened. Please make sure you have write permissions for this directory, and there's not a file with the same name already in use."
I have no other file in use and when I click the export file in the website I'm downloading from this message is the only thing that pops up. Thanks

I have a mc ibook g4 with os 10.4.11. I have 2 accounts on the computer, one for myself and one for my wife. When I try to download a file from lets say download.com using my account, the file fails to download. When I change to my wife's account it downloads just fine. In my account the download manager window does not open but it does with my wife's account and the file downloads just fine in hers. What setting have I screwed up in my account? I've tried comparing the settings in both of our accounts and cannot find a significant difference like firewall settings, which are both off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can I download RAW Files from Canon5D (Mk1) in LR4 ?

I have heard reports that LR4 cannot be used to download files from Canon 5D (Mk1).....is this true ?
Also why do I have to upgrade from LR3.6 to LR4 just so I can download RAW files from Canon G1X camera?...... for one who obtains no income from photography the continual costly upgrades are ridiculous !!!

Some people seem to like making Adobe the villain in this dilemma/issue. You don't have to have any version of Lightroom to download or work on your raw files. Software was included with your camera that will do that. The problem is that the camera maker wants to sell cameras, not software. So they don't devote the time to making the software everything that it could be. And since most camera makers insist on using proprietary file formats, it imposes a hardship on Adobe and other third-party developers to keep up with the demand.
Providing support for new cameras isn't the only development that goes on with the Lightroom team. They are constantly looking for ways to improve the process. When a major version of Lightroom is released there has to be an expense to upgrading. Otherwise, there would be no development, no improvement, just stagnation.
But, as has been mentioned, if your camera is not supported in Lightroom 3.6, Adobe provides free of charge the DNG converter. It will convert your images to DNG (Digital negative) files that can be opened in the software that you already have. When a new major version of Lightroom is released, development on the previous version ceases. Support for cameras that are introduced has to be done on a model basis, not just the file format. So if you purchase a new camera and want support from software that you are accustomed to using, you should expect to upgrade to get that support. The move from Lightroom 3.6 to 4.1 will provide you with a lot more than just added support for new cameras. The new process is much more refined and can produce superior results. If that isn't of value to you then simply use the DNG converter.

I want to create the service to download multi-files from web server one time
from browser. It seems no way to do it. My soulition is compressing the files
to zip before download it. The problem is that when the user uncompresses the
files,full path of downloaded files are setted. Look like this:

My question is :
1. Is there any way not to specify the full path of a file when
add the file to zip.

i cannot download or update any of my programs...i also cannot downlaod any of my files from the cloud it shows im still taking up like 30% of my memory but and i can see my files names but no thumbnail pics. and when i try to download them it keeps saying error...any help?? i hope i didnt lose my files.

Can't download multiple files from page without refresh with Safari

Safari 5.1 on imac osx 10.6.8. Just downloaded 5.1 and now I can't download more than 1 file at a time without refreshing the page (or paging back, then forward again) for each download. What is going on? How do i fix this?

Quit Safari.
Open a Finder window select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left. Then open the Library folder, then the Caches folder, then the com.apple.Safari folder.
Move the cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari. Try Downloads.

I can't download powerpoint files from emails on my ipad

I can see the powerpoint file in the email, but it won't download. Same for ppt and ppx files. I've downloaded keynote, but no change. It's a new thing as I have downloaded ppt files in the past. Size doesn't appear to be an issue as I can't open a 'single slide' attachment either. When you tap on the file, it thinks about it for a while and then nothing happens. Can anyone help? I tried the Apple store, but they can't. Am at a loss.

How are you trying to access the powerpoint? I know you said this worked in the past but just trying to get some additional info here.
Are you using the native email app on the iPad or logging in to a web-based email program? If using the native app, can you login to a web-based email and try opening the powerpoint in that manner to see if it works?
If so, it's an issue with the email program and would help narrow down the issue.

Can't download PDF files from Firefox or Safari

When I click on a PDF from a webpage it has always downloaded and opened with Preview. Recently (potentially correlated to when I had to download Adobe Acrobat) the PDFs won't open at all.

Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste (command-V) into the text box that opens, then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
I've seen an unconfirmed report that the "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you might need to remove it as well, if applicable.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Can't download raw files from my d7000

I have Lightroom 3 and have been using it with a Nikon D3000, I just got a new Nikon D7000 and Lightroom will not let me download my raw files. the note that I get says "The files are from a camera which is not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom" and then lists the files that I tried to download. Any suggestions?

The D7000 was first supported in LR 3.3, so if you are using the latest update which is V 3.6 you should have support.
