Can't download email picture attachments

I have Gmail on my iPhone 4 (with Verizon). I'm having a problem where I cannot download picture attachments. It was working fine just a couple days ago, but now when I tap the download picture icon in the email, it will blink, and sometimes act like it's starting to download, then the icon will reappear, and nothing has happened.
I can forward the email again, including the original attachment, and then the picture shows up fine in the new email, but with the original one, I can't get the picture to appear.
Has anyone had this problem?

I'm having the exact same problem with my mail accounts. It started this weekend, I tap the picture or video file to download (full WiFi connection) and it either gives me a failed message after a few KB's or the download percentage resets to Zero.

I may have just found the solution. It turns out that the photos on my iPhone only became inaccessible after the latest upgrade of iOS 7. They were not recognizable by any means of access from my mac. So...I launched iTunes and up came a dialog box asking me if I wanted to allow access to the iPhone via this computer. I clicked "Allow," and it told me to use the iPhone to allow access. I went to the iPhone and sure enough there was a dialog box asking for permission to share information with the computer. I clicked "allow" or "yes" or something like that, and for me the problem was solved. I can now upload photos from my iPhone with Bridge just like I used to. No problem. I hope this will work for other mac users.

If the account can be set up with programs like TB, simply add the account, starting from File/New(or AppMenu/New Message)/Existing Mail Account. If TB doesn't detect the right settings, enter them manually according to the account provider's requirements. If the provide offers IMAP access, all of the webmail folders will be downloaded. If POP only is offered, the Inbox will be downloaded.

Can't download email over ethernet

Greetings!
I can surf the web over my ethernet connection, but Mail can't download email over the same connection.
Does anybody have any idea what is going on?

What does “Mail can't download email” mean? What’s the problem exactly? Is it that Mail doesn’t check for mail on this account, or that it checks but downloads nothing, or what? What type of mail account is this (POP, IMAP, .Mac)? What error messages do you get, if any? More info, please.
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list. Leave checked (enabled) only the port configuration needed to connect to Internet and Built-in Ethernet (in that order if not the same), uncheck (disable) the rest of network port configurations and see whether that helps — if it doesn’t, turn ON again the ones you want enabled.
In Mail, open Window > Connection Doctor. What does it say?
Could it be that Mail or this particular account is in an “offline” state? Is the Mailbox > Go Online command enabled or disabled?
Go to Preferences > Accounts > Advanced. Is Include when automatically checking for new mail ON or OFF?
What’s the time interval chosen in Preferences > General > Check for new mail?
Open Window > Activity Viewer and tell Mail to check for mail on this account. What do you see there?
Open the Account Info window by choosing Get Info (⌘I) from the Action menu (gear icon) located below the mailbox list in the main Mail window. Does Mail display there the messages that it doesn’t download? Do they appear as already downloaded or as not downloaded yet (dot column)?

Usually, to copy photos from most phones, you either use a USB cable and connect the phone in USB Mass Storage (or disk) mode if the phone supports it. Then just drag and drop files from the phone disk that appears on the Mac desktop. Alternatively, if the phone has Bluetooth capability you send photos via Bluetooth using the File Manager of the phone (consult your phone manual on how exactly to do this), or using the "Bluetooth File Exchange" application on your Mac. Hi,
For the past several months my computer will not download any pictures, files, word documents that I would send myself from work or my phone. If I did try to open, save or save as the computer would give me the option but then when I would click to type save as nothing happens; it's still on the save as screen.
I tried MRFIXIT. and I received this error message:
"Troubleshooting cannot continue because an error has occured. We're sorry but the program encountered an error trying to contact the server."
I am somewhat computer savy but if anyone can tell me if I can fix this on my own it would be great. I really don't want to spend a lot of money to have it fixed or buy a whole new computer.
Please note this hasn't happend before. Also if I try to download firefox I would get an error message as well.

When things start to go wrong, it could be caused by a virus or by malware. It would be wise to scan with various softwares to check for those things first. MalwareBytes and SuperAntispyware are both good for finding nasties. And make sure you have a good AntiVirus installed. Scan with all three and then run a scan with System File Checker tool

How can I track emailed pictures?

I send out copies of iPhoto pictures to a group of kids from age 8 through 17. It is a tedious task, and generally takes about 2-weeks to complete. Is there a mechanism in iPhoto '11 that allows information that tracks which pictures have been sent, the dates they were emailed, and to whom?
I sometimes find myself sending emailed pictures that I just sent out a couple of days before. I don't always jot down where I left off. When I get back to sending out more pictures, I mistakenly send the same picture to the same address. Just looking for some sort of tracking record. Any ideas would be welcomed.

Not really if you use iPhoto to send e-mail - if you select one of the photos and click on info there is a lsit of who it was sent to
You also can have iPhoto send you a BCC for each one so you can track easier (that setting is in your iPhoto preferences)
IMHO a better way is to use Apple mail for your e-mail client and then you have copies in yoru sent items folder - select the e-mail client in the iPhoto preferences

I can't download emails to my iPhone today, working fine yesterday.

I suddenly cannot download incoming emails over several accounts to my iPhone5 mail app.
I can still receive emails.
another iPhone5 (my wifes) can still receive emails ok with same settings
On my imap4 account I get imap4.blueyonder.co.uk is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings.
These settings have not been changed since yesterday
On my googlemail account I get username or password is incorrect. Again they have not been changed since yesterday.
The fact it is happening over more than one email account makes me think it's the phone rather than the email settings.
I have rebooted the phone with no success.
Any help would be gratefully received.
