Can't download Firmware 3.1.2 within ITunes

Help. Whenever I select the "update" button in Itunes to upgrade my Iphone to the new firmware I get an error message along the lines of cannot connect to the internet and cannot get any further. I've upgraded to the new version of Itunes and all functionality of Itunes and my Iphone works fine apart from this.
Anyone else experienced similar and know how to resolve?

Are you listing the billing address for the card correctly? The address in the iTunes/MAS account must match the address on your bill exactly.

I can't download my purchase I made in iTunes. It shows "purchased" but it won't let me download it. Anyone has any suggestions?

If you go to your library, do you see any of the items already in there? It will not allow you to redownload them if they are already there, so that could be one possibility.
Also, have you authorized your computer? Go to the Store drop down menu (if you are on Windows and do not see it, click the ALT button 1 time to bring it back), then choose Authorize this computer and sign in.
Or if this all fails, and you do not have them on your computer already in your iTunes library, I would recommend going to the Store menu, choosing to Sign Out. Then simply signing back in.

Also do you just not see the Cloud download button, or are you getting an error?

Can't download my podcast on the iphone itunes app

I made an enhanced podcast and submitted it to itunes but even though I can subscribe to the feed, sync it to my phone, and listen to it in all its podcasty glory, I can not download the same episode from the itunes app on my I phone.
I called tech support and they didn't have an answer my phone, garage band and itunes are all up to date.
Anybody seen anything like this before? Could my feed be messed up? I use squarespace.com's wysiwyg tools to control and manage my site and its feed.

I don't have an iPhone so this isn't something I can check. You could try asking in the iPhone Forum: give your podcast details and someone may be able to try it out and see what happens.

I tried the Verizon update page, and found that it's a LOWER version than I already have!!! My router is version 4.0.16.1.56.0.10.14.4, but Verizon's version is 4.0.16.1.56.0.10.11.6
I looked at firmware updates because my WiFi speed sucks (11Mb/s) even though I have an Excellent signal. When I do a Repair, it jumps up to 49Mb/s but in a few minutes it falls to 11Mb/s.
I think I've tried everything mentioned in various forums, with zero difference. That lead me to believe that the ActionTec router is trash several months ago (hardwire connections are OK - Only WiFi is a problem).
Oh - also I keep having disconnects every hour or so - it's plaged me for years, but it's too much hassle to change providers to something besiges FiOS. That makes it impossible to use Windows the copy command (even in /Z restartable mode) to transfer backup files (41 GB or so). I have to use Filezilla FTP, which has a Resume function that actually works.
InSSIDer days that there are no strong signals nearby, just a few that have RSSI's in the high -80's and -90's. My RSSI is -49.

Can't download firmware

Everytime I try to download firmware for my WRT54G (wireless) router, I receive this error message, i.e.
"Internet Explorer cannot download...v6_1.02.7.011_EN_20090727.bin from downloads linksysbycisco.com [line space] Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later. [OK]"
I've been trying for the past three days and recieved the same error message each time. I doubt that the site is "unavailable or cannot be found." If those are the reasons, is there another way to update my firmware? What's the problem?
Bottom line: I want to update my firmware.

Install iTunes on your Acer and you can back up the iPhone. Or back it up to iCloud. If you do not back it up you can get it unlocked, but you will lose all of your content.
You can get iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes.
Even after unlocking I'm not sure it will work on Straight Talk, because last time I checked ST used Verizon as its carrier, and an AT&T iPhone 4 is not compatible with Verizon's network. You can probably use it on Net 10 or T-Mobile once it is unlocked.

If you are using iTunes on a computer to sync to the iPhone, any tracks in an acceptable format will do. If you mean directly to the iPhone, you can't. it would need to come from the iTunes store exclusively. As for finding free music in general, try a Google search.

By "DVD" do you mean a commercial movie, or do you mean a particular kind of optical disc which can serve many purposes only some of which have anything to do with what iTunes can do?
Can't do commercial movies because the media companies got together with the lawmakers and made it illegal to do it. Yes, even for DVDs you own.
You can do it with home movies but they have to be converted to a format iTunes can use. Most people aren't asking about that so I won't go into details unless you specifically ask (and no, it won't work with commercial movies).

Why can't I manage my iBook collections within iTunes?

I manage my ebooks on my iOs devices within collections using the iBook app. I'm surprised to find that my iTunes software on my mac doesn't allow me to organize ebooks by collection though -- I have to do everything one at a time on the ipad. Very frustrating, and it seems like a very stupid design flaw.
Does anyone know how to manage collections via iTunes?

Yes, there is an Books tab. Great.
However, I can't seem to manage any collections via iTunes -- only on the iOs version of iBook. Since iTunes is meant to sync with iBook, then I would think that I could manage the core features such as collections via iTunes as well. This doesn't seem to be the case.
In short, is there a way to manage iBook collections via iTunes. Or.... do I need to go through my books (all 178 of them) one by one and manually place them into collections on my ipad -- which would be a huge pain.

I tried to download the latest firmware for my BEFW11S4 Ver.2 (801.11b) wireless router. The file is with the extension BIN, and my Windows XP machine can't open it. What do I need to do?

You don't have to open it. Follow this from your wired computer : Open setup page of router by typing http://192.168.1.1 in browser’s address bar, and typing password as "admin" and no user name. Go to administration tab there. Go to firmware update sub-tab there. Browse for the firmware image file and click update. When update completes rebooth modem and router.
