Can't download iPhone 5s photos

iphone 5s is not recognized by iphoto when connected, nor does phone show up in image capture app.
Anyone else have this problem?

They can, but the images will only be the small thumbnail files that are created for optimized viewing on the iPod's smaller display. That is unless you store the images on the iPod in their full resolution.

Sorry, you question doesn't make sense. If you're trying to import photos, in your camera roll, to iPhoto, iPhoto doesn't import them twice.

How are you doing the downloading?
If you download raw files with iPhoto, iPhoto can only edit the JPEG preview that is embedded with each raw file. iPhoto is not a true raw editor, because it's a consumer-level product, not professional-level.
The files should remain in RAW format if you download any of these ways, by using:
Apple Image Capture (in your Utilities folder)
Canon Digital Photo Professional (comes with your camera, but since the 40D is so old, go to the Canon site and upgrade your copy to the latest version for compatibility with the latest Mac OS X)
Apple Aperture
Adobe Lightroom
Any other professional raw organizer/editor like Capture One

Can't download my own photos from Facebook

Hello Xperia community! I recently bought Sony Xperia Z2 and all I can say it's great phone. I just found a thing which is sort of a problem for me. I can't download my own Facebook pictures. When I tap on any photo I've uploaded on Facebook I got only options to "Make profile picture", "Make cover photo", "View album" and "Edit caption". How to download my old photos I have got only on Facebook, but not in my new Xperia™ phone? Is there something I didn't process or went through?

Yes I can save photos now. After "Edit caption" option after scrolling down there are options: "Delete photo", "Save photo", and "Share". It's just different way of showing those options than on other phone(s). Also, the scroll down marker (or however is called that side scroll up/down thing) doesn't exist so it's hard to figure out there could be more options after scrolling down. So, I just had to scroll down and I found the option to save.

Downloading iPhone 3GS photos and Videos to other computers

I recently got my first iPhone and am still finding out how to do things, so, apologies if this sounds dim but....
How do I download photos and videos from my iPhone 3GS to other computers?
I can plug in to my mac and sync everything with iTunes - no problem
I can plug into a PC and open up the iPhone files and copy across to the PC- no problem
BUT
If I plug a mac other than my own it just opens up iTunes. How can I copy a photo onto this mac without syncing the whole thing?

When iTunes opens up, just close it down, because you do not want to sync with any computer other than the computer you normally sync with. Then launch iPhoto & you can then import the photos/videos in your camera roll. Photos/videos synced to your phone cannot be imported to any other computer.

Can't edit iPhone 4 photos in iPhoto

I posted something similar under iPhoto then realized it might be an iPhone 4 problem. Suggestions would be appreciated:
We are unable to edit photos in iPhoto, but ONLY those photos taken with new iPhone 4. We can upload them to iPhoto, but when we choose a photo, double click to enlarge, then click Edit, the display goes black although thumbnails still show at top, with chosen thumbnail surrounded by yellow border to indicate its selection. While display is black, click on Adjust; Adjust detail shows nothing in the levels area as if photo doesn't exist. Double click black display (photo enlarge area) again and get all thumbnails within the event, including the photo that was blacked out during attempt to edit. It's impossible to edit any of the photos taken with the iPhone 4. Photos from other sources (new photos and old ones): still visible, still editable, still seem OK.

No solutions. Problem persists. Photos from iPhone 4 camera are not enlargeable (for viewing and editing) in iPhoto 8.1.2.

You must install iTunes. It is used to sync your iPhone to your computer, so you can transfer all your songs, pictures, movies, contacts, etc. to your iPhone

Can visitors download full-sized photos without using the iWeb photo page?

Neither the photo page nor album page suits the needs of my site, so here's what I would like to do:
Import my pictures into a blank page. Instruct visitors to right click to save.
Will they be saving a full-size version of the photo? Or will it save a thumbnail?
An alternative is to make the thumbnail itself a link to a page with a larger version of the same photo.
By not using a pre-formatted photo or album page, I do not have access to the iWeb download photo quality selector (it's grayed out in the menu).

How Can I Download iPhone Pics To My PC with XP?

I've been figting with this iPhone to try and retrieve the pictures that I have taken with it. I realize I can email them...but when you can only email one at a time and you've taken 20 pictures...that's kind of a pain in the @$$. My PC...yes I'm sorry...I have a PC...but it's a work provided laptop...when I do buy my own I'm leaning towards a Mac...but anyway...my PC does see the iPhone and it even recognizes it as a camera...but no matter what I try...I can't view or download the pics that I've taken...I keep getting a "device is busy or in use" message.
Is there software I need? Or do I just need to wait for an iPhone software update. I Tried Picasa and Tansee so please don't suggest those.
Any help is appreciated.

Ok...I'm going to go through what happens on my PC step by step and see if anybody has a suggestion on what I need to do.
I just plugged in my iPhone...a box pops up that says "Apple iPhone, Camera Connected, Select the program to launch for this action:" I then select Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard and click ok. Then a box pops up that says "Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard...it shows an icon of a camera and a computer monitor and says "Reading Picture Information" it does this for a full minute and then a box pops up that says "The computer cannot detect the scanner or camera. Please make sure the device is turned on and is properly connected to the computer"
Now here's step two that I try:
I go through "My Computer" I can see the camera icon that says Apple iPhone...I right click on it...and one of the options is "Get Pictures" so I click on that...and the same box pops up from before that shows the camera icon and the monitor icon and says "Reading Picture Information" but this time a different message pops up that says "The scanner or camera is in use. Please try again later"
So the next thing I try is double clicking on the icon instead of right clicking...it opens an empty window but on the left hand side gives me some "Camera Tasks" to choose from and I choose "Get Pictures From Camera" The same "Reading Picture Information" pops up and then the same " The scanner or camera is in use. Please try again later" message pops up.
The phone is not locked.
This is driving me insane...I've been trying to do this since I got the phone 6/29/07 I've ran the windows update to make sure all my stuff is up to date...I DON'T GET IT.

7.7 - Install error? Can't download iPhone firmware update

I downloaded 7.7 yesterday and got an install error, but when I opened it up, it said it was version 7.7 and had the Application menu item. So I thought all was dandy!
But when I tried to update my iPhone to 2.0, a message popped up that said I need 7.7 installed. I clicked "Update," was taken to Software Update, but of course nothing was found.
Then I thought I'd try to download it manually, but the download links are nowhere to be found on apple's site: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Any ideas? Please help! I want to get 2.0 installed before I leave for work.

You have to wait several minutes for iTunes to recognize any new iPod or iPhone after the 7.7 update. There is a major bug with the program. Apple has removed the download from their servers, which I don't think they have ever done, even with minor issues of previous iTunes releases in the past... I'm sure they are working on it and I hope to see iTunes 7.7.1 ready to download soon. You probably can't update any firmware/software until Apple fixes things...
