Can't download itunes or quicktime.

(I have an ipod nano 6th gen.)
I got on my itunes Tuesday 11/8/2011 and it said it saw that my ipod was connected but it couldnt read it on itunes. I looked all over the computer for an answer and nothing helped. Finally I came across one that told me to unistall everything and try again so I did. I did everything the site said to do but when it came to downloading itunes again I couldnt even download it.  Every time I try it freezes on this
Then I'll wait and wait and wait and I will finally get this message
So then it rolls back uninstailing everything and there is nothing I can do about it. I found a site that said I needed to have an updated version of quicktime so I thought my troubles might be over. I downloaded quicktime and went through the same process.
Now I dont understand what this error message means but I kept looking for an answer. This page said to try using winRAR to get around the error on itunes by opening and repairing the problem "AppleApplicationSupport.msi" and the same thing happened I got the same ( 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type="win32"...... )
Then sometimes my itunes will roll back and try again but this time I will get the message
I will retry and retry for nothing. So I start all over again and get the same results I dont know what else to do. So please help I cant imagine I'm the only person having this problem, Thank you.

it downloads completely then a screen pops up asking me to select a supporter for itunes. I can't pick any of them because none of them have anything to do with itunes.
That sounds very odd.
Could you please take a screenshot of that screen, post it on an image hosting site, and give us a link to the image?

  • Can't Download ITunes or QuickTime, Download stops at the same point

Hi, i have a problem: when i try to upgrade to Itunes 10.1 through Apple Software Update( but also when i've tried to do directly through Apple site ) , the download starts but it stops all the times at the same point ( just 7,50MB ... ). I've tried everything: i changed my firewall options, i've disabled Norton Smart Firewall, i've uninstalled Itunes and ALL Apple Components in EVERY folders then i've re-installed it using a itunes.exe taken from another computer (because ANY apple download is not possible through my computer, i don't know why, but before everything worked! ), but nothing.... Download stop at the same point.
    PLEASE HELP ME!!!
(Sorry for my bad english and sorry if i'm in wrong discussion, but i've not found nothing similar to my issue )

No, i can't download ANYTHING, neither through Apple site nor through the Itunes software upgrade. Neither just Quicktime nor just ITunes. Both downloads stop and freeze after few MB. I'm going crazy to find why all this happening to me..... Maybe it's because i've installed another application and now it goes in conflict with iTunes?!? ( two months ago i've downloaded new codecs audio and video with K-Lite Codec Pack, plus Media Player Classic, but during installation i've lefted mp4 files association with iTunes ).

Go to start > run, and type CMD into the box.
Another box will pop up. Now type this into it

Do you get back a message that has 0% loss (good)in it? Or 100% loss (bad)?

  • Can't download iTunes or Quicktime from Apple.

I know this is a known problem. I Just wanted to report it's still happening with my FF 27.0.1. Is it an iframe issue or a download manager issue? i do have "Always ask me where to save files" selected (and prefer to keep it that way).

I figured out why the download works fine for me. I use the Save File To add-on, which adds a list of my favorite folders to the download prompt window. That means it takes me at most a couple of quick clicks to confirm the download.
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/save-file-to/
If I manually browse to a download folder, that takes too long and the download page changes in the background to the Thank You page. If that happens, no file is downloaded after selecting the download folder.

  • I can't download itunes 10.3.1 for Windows 7 64 bit

    I can't download itunes 10.3.1 for Windows 7 64 bit.
I tried the suggestion to delete existing iTunes before installing the updated version.
I receive a message that a file is in use when I try to delete iPOD.
I started Task Manager to stop services for iTunes as suggested but it is not listed.
    How do I install iTunes 10.3.1 for Windows 7 - 64 bit?

I got the same message about the network resource that I can't access.  The only difference is that I couldn't install Itunes 10.3 because I can't remove the old version of Bonjour.  I couldn't get rid of anything in add/remove programs, but I went into my program folders and deleted everything that had to do with Itunes.  I also ran a Windows Cleanup Utiltiy.  Nothing will work.  I still can't remove Itunes, Bonjour, Quicktime, MobileMe Control Panel, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support, or Apple Software Update in add/remove programs because they are on a network resource that I can't access even though I deleted them from the program folders.  This is very frustrating!

  • Downloading iTunes Without QuickTime

From the latest update from Apple to iTunes users with Windows XP, there have been many having a problem opening iTunes without receiving an error. The latest resolution posted was to download an older version of QuickTime first, and then download iTunes without QuickTime bundled. This is where the fun begins. All web sites I have searched so far claim to have the iTunes download without QuickTime, but they all include QuickTime with the download.
Does anyone have an idea of where you can download iTunes without QuickTime bundled? Thanks!

Have you tried downloading the installer for Quicktime Pro 7.3 + iTunes and running it?
It should come up with two options "Repair" or "Uninstall" ... then choose repair and it should install iTunes 7.5 ... try that and see if it works. Instead of downloading iTunes + Quicktime, you download Quicktime + iTunes ... I know it's the same thing, but the installation of Quicktime is then checked first, and that accounts for the "Pro" paying customer part.

  • Tried to upgrade to new itunes and now can't load itunes or quicktime

HELP! i tried to upgrade my itunes. This upgrade was totally successful. I then had another problem on my computer so i tried to restore my computer to an earlier timepoint. Since I have done this, I can't load itunes or quicktime. I have tried to uninstall the programs and reinstall them but it still doesn't work. I get an error message on quicktime:
    failed to initialize- error-2095
The itunes error message reads :
iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Help- I am going insane with this!!!

I followed a link and somehow ended up at this post from Mike Hogan3 and combined it with something else I came across. This is what worked for me!
1)Follow his suggestions for removing quicktime and itunes (at the end of this message).
    2)Then reinstall iTunes from:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
    3) Then install QuickTime Standalone Installer from this page (located in the middle right of the page- don't install the one with iTunes!) http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
Hope this works! It did for me!

This might not be exactly the same problem but lots of people (myself included) had problems after installing iTunes 6.0. I did the following and it finally installed correctly.
    I went to
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301
and downloaded the Cleanup utility near the bottom of that page. When it installs on your machine it will scan your computer for every installer every ran on you're machine. Only select iTunes and Qtime and delete those 2 installers. Then I went to add/remove programs and removed iTunes and Qtime. Prior to this Qtime would not unistall but now it did. Funny thing was there was no prompting by windows once I hit "remove/repair" in the "add/remove programs" function.
Then rerun the iTunes 6.0.1 update. That had been failing to install Qtime prior to this but now it installed and I see all my music again and iTunes works. Let me know if this does the trick, I hope so.

  • I have an old version of Bonjour and can not download itunes

I am tring to down load Itunes, on my computer that is running window XP, when down load is almost finish it say error that there is an old version of Bonjor on computer and can not download itunes 11.

    Hello there korteas63,
I was looking into the issue you are describing and found an article that I think may be helpful for us here. It sounds like we need to remove ALL components of iTunes, and any of its associated services like Bonjour.
First this article will help you remove iTunes and its services, named Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Steps
    1. Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order. Then, restart your computer.
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended effects.
If you need more detailed steps on removing and these components, refer to the following steps:
    2. Verify iTunes and related components are completely uninstalled In most cases removing iTunes and its related components from the Control Panel will remove all supporting files belonging to those programs.  In some rare cases those files may be left behind. After following the previous steps, you should confirm that the following files and folders have been removed and if any are left behind, remove them now:
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\
    C:\Program Files\iTunes\
C:\Program Files\iPod\     Note: Follow the additional steps at the end of this article if you receive the alert "Cannot delete iPodService.exe: It is being used by another person or program" when trying to delete this folder.
    C:\Program Files\QuickTime\
    C:\Windows\System32\QuickTime
    C:\Windows\System32\QuickTimeVR
If you aren't sure how to remove these files, you can follow these detailed steps:
When those steps are completed go ahead and try installing iTunes again. Use this article to troubleshoot installing iTunes if the issue persists, Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows from here
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • I can't download itunes, I click the download button on the website, it says thank you but nothung has actually happened.

I can't download iTunes on my laptop on windows. It says thank you for downloading but nothing actually happens.

It seems that in some cases the scripts on Apple's site that are intended to query your system to offer the appropriate installer don't work as intended, taking you straight to the "Thank you for downloading" page.  Depending on the edition of Windows you are running, there are three variants of the most recent version of iTunes, with direct links to the installers as follows:
    iTunes 12.1.2.27 (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe
    iTunes 12.1.2.27  (64-bit) - iTunes6464Setup.exe
    iTunes 12.1.2.27 (64-bit "for older video cards") - itunes64setup.exe
The third of these - which is actually the 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer - should be used if you get a warning about video card incompatibility when you install the standard 64-bit version, but also may resolve issues with playback, QuickTime compatibility, and problems with some third-party applications (including Outlook).
See turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for more details if you're still having problems with installation.
