Can't download iTunes purchased movie to my iPhone

I can see the movie there in my recently purchased section.
I connect the phone, tick the movies I want to download then press 'apply"
But then I get this message:
My phone isn't synced with another library. This is the only one I use.
I've updated software etc and can see everything there on my library but can't get the movies!
Any ideas?

You need to buy and install a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, and then run the 10.6.8 combo updater.

I would recommend signing out of your Apple ID in Settings -> iTunes and App Stores. After this, close all open apps and restart your device. Once your iPad is powered back up, sign back into your Apple ID in Settings -> iTunes and App Stores.

You should certainly be able to add content by reference to itunes from such a disk (even before the update) - so long as itunes knows the location of the file (set Preferences not to copy to local library when adding the media) it will stream it to AppleTV if the disk is available.
I hope you're right, but I'd be surprised if current Extremes can be upgarded to provide a full Home Sharing service - marvellous if they can but I'd be surprised as i've long said we need an Apple media server either based on TC or AE to do this kind of thing.

Can I watch iTunes-purchased movies from an Airport Extreme USB disk?

With the newest Airport firmware (7.6.1), it seems I should be able to do this.
My scenario is so basic, I can't understand why I'm having trouble achieving this.
- I have a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.7.2 - since it's a laptop, I don't want to leave it on all the time.
- I have an AirPort Extreme with a USB disk on it (that I use for backing up my MacBook), recently upgraded to newest firmware 7.6.1.
- I have a recently purchased Apple TV hard-wired to the AirPort running firmware 4.4.4.
- I have purchased movies though iTunes on the MacBook Pro.
I want to watch my iTunes-purchased movies on my Apple TV even when my MacBook Pro is sleeping. That is, I would like the movies to be accessible via iCloud, or stored on the USB disk connected to AirPort Extreme, or something/anything.
It seems obvious to me that with an all-Apple set up, and iCloud, this should be easy to achieve.
What am I missing?

HT200109 CAN I DOWNLOAD A PURCHASED MOVIE ONCE AND STORE IT?

I purchased a movie from i-loons and I am forced to wait 2 hours every time I want to watch it!!!!! I have a very slow DSL connection, due to where I live, and there are no faster options available. Is there a way to actually download the movie, THAT I PAID GOOD MONEY FOR, ONE TIME to my Crapple TV or Computer so I can ACTUALLY WATCH IT WHEN I WANT?????? If not this is yet another nail in the coffin for that GREEDY, CONTROLLING, NEVER PLAYS NICE WITH OTHERS, ANAL, DICTATORIAL CRUMPANY CALLED APPLE!!!!
As a side note I see this question has been asked before, about 6 monts ago, and there has been NO answer or help to this question!!????!!!

AppleTV 1 had a hard drive and allowed purchases to reside on it and copy back to iTunes.
AppleTV 2 and 3 are smaller/cheaper and do not have any useful storage and therefore can't store copies of multiple items on them - there is supposedly 8GB of memory which is just enough for an HD movie and other uses.
Apple in their wisdom have decided we all have unlimited fast broadband which is not the case for many, myself included.
It's not the greenest option but provided you don't mind playing the video from iTunes on your computer attached to the LAN, this is easily achieved. You enable Home Sharing in iTunes and on AppleTV. Under Computers icon your local iTunes library content is available to select and play. If you have more than one iTunes running you can select the library to use.
Going forward you may want to make any new purchases (or rentals) directly in itunes and provided the computer is on they'll play across the LAN not the internet.
For existing purchases, assuming Apple offer iTunes in teh cloud you should be able to download the existing purchases to itunes on teh computer quite easily.
In iTunes got to the iTunes Store home page with the house icon.
On the far right under Quicklinks go to Purchased, and browse and/or download past purchases. For HD material go to itunes Preferences to select 720p or 1080p as preferred download format. You can download SD if needed.

Still can't download iTunes purchases, please help! incorrectly says "network connection timed out"

I've been trying for 4 days to download purchased media from iTunes and I keep getting this error message "The network connection timed out." I assure you my internet connection works perfectly.
Not sure if this is relevant, but this error spontaneously happened after my most recent purchase on the night of 2/10. I was able to download some iTunes extras right before I made the most recent HD movie purchase, and as soon as I tried to download that, nada!
Here's what I've already tried, but has NOT worked:
-re-opening iTunes
-restarting computer (several times)
-deleting tmp files
-disabling antivirus ware & firewalls
-deleting & re-installing iTunes
If anyone has any other ideas to help me out, I'm all ears!

please excuse my ignorance, but do you mean log into my iTunes at an apple store & download my purchases onto a flash? I wasn't aware I could do that...

An iPod Touch is not a backup/storage device. You should have been maintaining a backup of your personal data on an external HDD using Time Machine or other backup software of your choice.
However, there are ways to "recover" the music:
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive
Once you have recovered the music I strongly suggest you purchase an external HDD and start using Time Machine to keep a backup of your personal data.

I downloaded a film (to rent) from the Apple Store, but for some reason, it didn't appear in my iTunes library, but rather in my iTunes media folder. When I try to add it to iTunes, it won't do anything. I want to watch it on my TV via Apple TV, but unless it's in iTunes, I can't. I'm currently using iTunes 11.
Any ideas?

Can I use LaCie Multimedia disk to see iTunes purchased movies in TV?
I share files from iTunes in my local network by authorising 3 computers, but none of these have HDMI connection to TV.
Can I use LaCie multimedia hard disk to store de movies from iTunes and connect then the Lacie disck to TV via HDMI?
Once I did it by simply copying an .m4v movie with no result. Also I think some downloaded file from iTunes blocket the HDMI conection to TV.
Any suggestio or experience...? I know that Apple TV is one solution but I don't want a new artephact and more HDMI connections. (BlueRay, TDT, iPlus etc.)

I have the same problem on my Toshiba TV. Cyrillic subtitles cannot be shown properly. Even symbols like ?, ?, or cannot be shown properly.
Until now I didnt found solution to this. Reading some other forums other people have described the same problem for Spanish language ( ).
Firmware is installed to the latest version but problem is still there.
By the way: can you please test this method and let me know if this works for you.

Can't download song purchased from Itunes from one computer to another using same Apple ID

Hi, I am operating itunes 11 at home, using Mac OS 10.7.5.. I purchased a song at work (also a Mac, I am not sure which version of OSM or itunes). I accessed the purchase of the song in the "Purchased" menu option in itunes on my home Mac. When I tried to download the song at home so I can include it in my Library, I got the following message:
This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days.
So: just to be clear:I can only buy something from itunes from one computer and save to another with the same Apple ID only every 90 days??? And if that is the case, I have not purchased anything from my work computer within 90 days of this recent song purchase. That just does not make sense to me, since the license covers 10 devices anyway, and I am using the same Apple ID.
Let me know if I am not understanding this correctly, or am doing something wrong. It just does make not sense to me that I can't download a purchase I made from one computer to another since I am paying Apple for the music and just accessing it elsewhere, using the same account.

Thanks for the response. Yes, my husband logged on to our computer and rented a movie for us to view. That is how we use Itunes: I purchase the music, he may purchase a movie or a rental now and then. This is new, it never happend before.
Also, I contacted customer support, both by phone and email. Not only does someone else using the home computer under a different account trigger this, but so does simply activating my own user id from a different computer (one of the 5 I am allowed to under the service agreement.)
Customer support was very helpful and lifted the 90 day ban. I called them because I purchased a season pass of a TV show and could not download the first episode because it was a "past purchase" (the episode was not even available to download when I purchased the pass, so “past” is indeed relevant.)
But I don't see the point of purchasing content from Apple now. This feature limits the accessibility of legal purchases under the service agreement. Why allow 5 computers per Apple ID if activating one of them limits the ability to download content for 90 days??
I (used to) buy movies, rentals and TV shows all the time. I don’t have cable, so Apple was the source for all “must have” shows that I couldn’t wait for. Too bad.

I agree. I don't rely on iCloud as a backup, that is what I have my portable hard drive for. Its 500 GB so I can hold my entire iTunes library several times over on it. I have all my movies on my hard drive, but somehow "The Mist" got deleted off of my hard drive, so I figured "Well, the option to redownload an already purchased movie is available through iCloud, I'll just do that!"
And permissions and download availability have nothing to do with it, the movie's still there, it still allows me to redownload it. The only problem is when I click download, I get that message.
And nobody else uses my computer, but I do have multiple accounts authorized on it. Even still though, I am attepmpting to download it through the account I purchased it under. :/
