Can't download large exe file from HP website on 5.0

Download fails repeatedly when trying to download *.exe driver/sw update from this HP site: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-65961-4&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=228&product=3192753&sw_lang=&key=null&site=null
OS: MS windows XP pro 2002 SP2
The first download fails. Window w/filename shows up, then I click the 'retry' option (or you can simply right click filename and select 'retry'). It then downloads but I never see file on file system. Changed file download location in firefox settings to different drive, same results. Changed download to always prompt for location, still fails (i.e. exact same results, 1st time fails, 2nd time seems OK but file not visible). Checked OS file system settings and hidden files and system files are set to allow viewing. I am at a loss! No idea what to do but use a different browser. Help please!

Hi froggiedawg,
I'd like to reproduce your problem on my machine. Would you please give me some more info?
1) OS: Windows 7 64bit OS
2) IE: IE10. - What's the exact version of IE10? You can check it under IE Help > About Internet Explorer. Mine says 10.0.9200.16686
3) Protected Mode - IE > Internet Options > Security > Security level for this zone > Enable Protected Mode. Is this checked ON or OFF?
4) Enhanced Protected Mode - IE > Internet Options > Advanced > Security > Enable Enhanced Protected Mode. Is this checked ON or OFF?
5) Do you have Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader?
6) Adobe Acrobat/Reader - what version of Adobe Acrobat/Reader do you have?
7) Did opening a PDF in the browser (IE) work for you before? When did you start experiencing the problem?
8) Have you tried uninstalling and installing Adobe Acrobat/Reader?
9) Have you tried using Cleaner Tool (http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html) after uninstalling Adobe Acrobat/Reader?
Thank you for your help!
Rebecca

  • How to link individual picker view selections to download an individual file from a website or other location such as dropbox using Xcode?

Alright, the question I have has to deal with how to link an app to a website to download files. How, or is it even possible to link individual picker view selections to download an individual file from a website or other location such as dropbox using xcode. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but if anyone can help or can send a link to a place that can, I would greatly appreciate it!

I am not getting anywhere with deploying my application or
    applet.
I have set up my bc4j project. It contains all my VO info,
    links, application module. (proj a)
I then have another project with DbInfo in it(has all my rowset
info), Multiple Frames, and my Applet.java file.
Actually I have an Applet.java file and a Application.java file
because I was seeing if both/either worked. Anyway they seem the
same, except for that extra window that comes up when you run the
    applet.
I follow the steps in the oracle directions (from earlier post).
And all seems ok. But at ---->
[*] Select the subdirectory under myhtml where your applet's HTML
    file
is located, and enter the directory path of the 'staging'
    directory you
created in step 3 above, if different from the default.</li>
[*]Select the HTML files that JDeveloper created to run your
    applet.</li>
[*]Select all of the Java source files in your project that make
    up the
    applet.</li>
I have no HTML file associated with my applet, at least that I
    know of.
So do I need to create one, or should it of been done
    automatically.
Also, I trying to figure out what will be the best way to deploy
my project. Applet or stand alone application is what my first
choices have been so far. I have read that there is some issues
with applets being served from a different server than the
database. So a stand alone application was my front runner, but
I haven't gotten either way to work yet.

  • Can't download large pdf file

I'm trying to download a large pdf file (26.2 mb) to my iPad.  It appears to download, then appears, as 440 blank pages.  It offers to open the file in iBook, but that also doesn't have any results.  Is there a limit on the size of the pdf file it can handle?  I tried to e-mail it from my computer, but the file is too big for my e-mail program.  This is a book I would really love to read on the iPad--how can I get it there?  thanks, B.

Yes, I see that as well. Talk about a bad assumption. I thought from what I had read that the feature worked like Spotlight on the Mac. In fact I could swear I've read that on Apple's site somewhere. Not the first time I was wrong and certainly not the last. Alas I stand corrected again.
Frankly, after investigating the search function further - IMHO - it seems pretty useless.  A number of the apps that I use have their own search functions built in. I've read that you can search for a missing app on your iPad with this feature, but other than that and finding contacts and emails it seems pretty pointless to me.

  • Can you call external exe file from Flex Air Application like notepad.exe

Im trying to make my Air Application open an External exe file anyone know if this can be done?

    Hi,
If you want to share code between a flex app and AIR, you
could isolate the common bits as a swc file and link to the swc
from both the flex and air project.
Also, you could have the flex mxml file and air mxml file
load the same module (which has the same stuff as your original
    flex application) using ModuleLoader.
Or, you could even load the swf of your flex application
using SWFLoader in your air mxml file.
Basically, check out creating flex libraries, modules and
    runtime loading of swfs.

  • Can't copy large video file from iPhone

I have several video recorded on my 3GS. When connected via USB to a Windows XP computer it shows up as "camera device" and I can usually copy photos and videos from it.
However, today I found I was unable to copy a 584MB video I recorded yesterday.
I have another 300MB video I can simply drag and drop or copy paste without problems; but the 584MB one simple freezes the window for a while, and then I get a copied file in the destination with size zero.
Has anyone faced similar problems? (or better yet, how can I get that file "out" of the iphone?)
    [Using iPhone 3GS 3.0]

Trying it in a different PC (this one with Windows 7) solved the issue.
It copied without any problem - though there were issues for the iPhone to be detected correctly in windows 7.
It would show up as an incorrect USB MTP Device and failed to mount it - it required "uninstalling" the device and scanning for new hardware in device manager to show up properly (this had to be done everytime the iPhone was plugged in.)

  • Downloading Large PPT file from Email - not working

I emailed to myself a large 12 MB PPT file and in my email touched this assuming it would open and allow me to use iWork to open the file. I do have iWork Keynote on my iPad. However, it does not open. I touch the file and the hourglass keeps thinking and says it's downloaded 0 of 12.5 MB. It sits like that for ages.
I've had no problem with other Excel and PDF files, only larger PowerPoint files. I was able to open a smaller PPT no problem.
    Any thoughts?
    Richard

If you're trying to import that file into Keynote on your iPad, you won't get it there by emailing it to yourself, regardless of size. You have to do the following.
    1) Connect your iPad to your laptop.
    2) Once iTunes is open, click on your iPad under Device in the left column.
    3) Click on the Apps tab on top.
    4) Scroll down to the File Sharing section.
    5) Click on Keynote.
    6) Click on the Add button.
    7) Browse to the location of the PPT file on your laptop, select it.
    8) Now you have your file ready to import in iTunes.
    9) Click on the Info tab on top.
    10) Click on Sync below. Once it finishes, you'll have your PPT file in Keynote on your laptop.
    11) On your iPad, click on Keynote.
    12) Click on the little folder icon at top right corner.
    13) Click on the PPT file in the list that opens. There you go.

  • Can I download a spool file from ALV payroll recon report in Fixed Ascii?

We have a process that imports the spool files from our various nightly payroll recon reports but have recently upgraded to ECC 6.0 and the ALV formatted report does not appear to create a fixed format spool file - the width of the columns changes from spool to spool based on the contents.
Does anyone know how to accomplish our need?
    Thanks,
    DeWayne

Does the printer show up in the Windows Printers folder?  We've used PDF995 or Cute pdfwriter for years.  All of these create virtual windows printers.  When you print to them, a dialog box pops up asking for the filename for the pdf.  If you have Activex calls to Excel in order to open a file, you should be able to make ActiveX calls to print it to a print driver such as this.  I don't know if any of these drives have a way to bypass the filename dialog box.  That may take some research and experimentation.  I don't know where the postscript file comes into play in the scenario you are describing.

  • Can't Import large .avi file from digital camera into iPhoto 08

I have a digital camera with a 4GB SD card. I was shooting video and have several small .avi files on the card and one large .avi file (2.67 GB) on the same card. I did not have a problem importing the small files. iPhoto hung while trying to import the large file. I read in this forum that I should use Image Capture, which I tried. When I used Image Capture on the smaller files (just to see how it worked), my camera would flash while it was transferring. When I tried Image Capture on the large file, the camera did not flash and after about 20 minutes, there didn't seem to be anything going on with the transfer. I also tried an old card reader through Image Capture, and that didn't work either. Should Image Capture be able to handle this size file? Do you know of any way to break up the large file into smaller files on the SD card? What am I missing? Thanks!

Canon's cameras do not mount on the Desktop. It's a 'feature' of the brand.
There are several possibilities for Image Capture - including minor directory damage on the card etc. The only solution is get the card to mount, and that means a recent Card Reader.

  • Can I download large movie files to iphoto?

Hi all you great experts out there .  I am having trouble downloading 12GB of video which I took on my Canon EOS7D. I am using an IOGEAR card reader connected to my Mac OS X (version 10.6.8) computer with a 2GHz Intel Core Duo processor, running Snow Leopard. I am currently using iphoto and imovie '09. The card seems to register with my computer as the icon appears on my desktop and also in iphoto under "Devices".   Iphoto is open and I currently see "Loading photos" on my screen with the twirling sun dial.
Does it just take a long time to download 1+ hours of video?
    OR
Is there another step that I need to add?
    OR
Perhaps do I need to purchase the '11 version of iphoto/imovie?
I eventually want to edit the video in iMovie.  I read in a couple of the threads that I may need to use the apple application "image capture" to copy the movie to desktop and then import.  I have not tried that yet, I am hoping the "sun dial" will stop spinning soon or that you all will have a magical response for me!  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks so much from this Techie wanna be

iPhoto is known to choke on movie files over a certain size.  To get the larger videos either use Image Capture or a card reader to upload the file to the Desktop first and then into iPhoto.

  • Can't download real player file from link

I'm new to the mac world and I am trying to download a real player file (.rm) from a link that is on one of my course websites (I've tried Safari and Firefox). When I "right click" and select "Download File" it just downloads the actual html link, not the file. I'm able to download the file on my PC with no problems. Am I just missing something with the mac?

Are you running RealPlayer 11? That includes a downloader that tells you when a file is actually available for download.

  • Can't get large video file from iPod to Mac

It seems to be working for everything else, but... I shot a 1.9GB video on my new iPod Touch 4G, and it won't import. Both Image Capture and iPhoto throw import errors for that file.
    Any ideas?
It plays back fine on the iPod, and the smaller files I've shot on it have imported just fine.

I have the same problem on windows... Recorded a 12 min vid & i can't import it to my deskop. I did a test with another 12 min vid & i got the same problem

  • What is the sequence to download an mp3 file from a website?

When I visit most websites (with IE on my Galaxy IIIS), I can download mp3 files by selecting the word "download" or an icon. With Firefox, sometimes it downloads and sometimes it plays. How do I guarantee-download.

This will be in the long tap menu in Firefox 21. This will be released in about 10 weeks. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=791654
Right now Firefox 21 is in the Aurora channel http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/aurora/

  • When I try to download EXE files from other software support sites Firefox cancels these requests.

When I try to download an EXE file from some software support or update sites (such as Norton) Firefox shows it being canceled in the download folder, or the folder shows a file name with zerokb instead of the file. Even if I opt to try to download the file to a folder other than the downloads file by changing the Firefox settings the same thing happens in the chosen folder.

There are more involved ways of solving this - involving turning down/off your Windows firewall settings, deactivating your virus scanner or changing the zone settings.
But the simplest way to solve this is to just fire up Chrome or a similar 'lite' browser and download the file you want through it.
Only do this if you absolutely trust the site you're dealing with and remember to scan the heck out of the .exe file once you get it.
If you still can't download it you must have really tight security settings and you'll just have to deal with adjusting those.

  • Downloading an XML file from Website through FUSION middleware

    Hi,
I want to download an xml file from one website through BPEL. I am using jdeveloper 10.1.3.3 to create a BPEL process and Adapters.
How can i download the xml file from the site through FUSION middleware?

Another option would be to write a smal Java class the uses URLConnect to connect to the URL in question and use WSIF to bind it to the BPEL process.
    Just google for sample code.
    --olaf
