Can't download Lion because of error message in app store

My mac is about 3 years old and I am trying to update to the lion opertaing system.  I bought and installed Snow Leopard.  Now I am trying to buy and download Lion.
The App store keeps telling me that "We could not complete your purchase.  Mac OS X 10.7 requires at least 2GB of memory."
I have 134 GB of available space so I don't understand the issue.  Any suggestions??

You are confusing Disc Space with RAM... RAM = Memory...
You need at least 2 GB of RAM.. More would be better...
Have a look here for getting the Correct RAM for your Mac...

I'm having the exact same problem with a dual core iMac. Absolutely driving me nuts...cleared out all my caches before starting; have restarted MANY times after every failure; plenty of RAM, plenty of GBs on HDD; all else updated and my broadband working fine.
    Can anyone help on this?

  • Can't load Lion because I don't have app store (and yes, I do have snow leopard fully updated)

I was running Lion and everything was fine. Then, the hard drive on my iMac died and I just had a new one installed. After that, I loaded snow leopard and then did a restore of all my files from time machine (I later found out that i should have just done a full restore from time machine and i didnt need to first install an operating system).  All of the apps that were updated through Lion dont work, including App Store, Safari, etc. -- they say: "You have Mac OS X 10.6.8.  The application requires Mac OS X 10.7 or later."  The problem is that the only way to upgrade to Lion is through the App Store, but everything i tried, including Software Update (which says I'm fully updated) doesnt work. I even deleted the Lion version of the App Store so i could try reinstalling the snow leopard version and that didnt work.  I also thought about eerasing the whole machine and doing a full restore but now for some reason all of my old backups are gone.

I understand the problem elifromnewyork is explaining. Unfortunately, I have a similar problem. Hard drive crashed>repaired it>restored with time machine backup>several apps are "circle slash" using my newly upgraded OSX 10.6.8. These apps include v1.2.2 App Store, v9.0.9 iMovie, v2.0 FaceTime, v7.1 Contacts, v6.0 Calendar, v1.0 Game Center, v1.0 Launchpad and a few others. iTunes v11.1.3 does not have the "circle slash", but it will not launch. I've tried:
    1. Erasing the drive and loading from the Snow Leopard disk and doing a software update.
    2. Erasing the drive and loading Snow Leopard, then doing a time machine restore, then a software update.
I have a full version of Drive Genius and have hammered the drive with every Drive Genius repair tool. Each repair says nothing is wrong or the action was concluded successfully. All I can come up with is that the time machine back up is somehow incomplete, or I have a setting turned off somewhere that is affecting a proper restore/upgrade.

  • Downloaded Lion, but got error message and can no longer find it in my App Store purchases

I had previously purchased Lion from the App store for my iMac.  Today I went back to the App Store to download Lion onto my MacBook which is running Leopard 10.6.8.  At the end of the download I received an error message.  So I restarted my computer and went back to the App store to try again.  Now Lion doesn't show up in my purchases for download.  I can't find Lion on my computer either.  What can I do?

No, I don't.  Called Apple and they did some trouble shooting.  Turns out I had hidden my Lion purchase in the App Store by inadvertently clicking on the "x" beside the download/resume button.  Once unhidden, I was able to download and install.
    Thanks for asking.
    Cheers.

  • Just bought new Macbook Pro, can't download updates because of this message:This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.

Mac app store will not download updates because of error message

    Hi,
I also am getting this message. I bought my 15" mac book pro mid 2010 and at the same time purchased iWork. It is not showing in my purchases on Apple ID, I have never changed my Apple ID since purchase. Why would my Apps not show. There are some there but mostly free ones. I checked it under the Store menu after signing in.
After upgrading from Mountain Lion to Yosemite  my iPhoto, iMovie, Keynote,Pages and Numbers need to update. But I get this message.
"This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."
I have not changed ownership or Apple ID on my mid 2010 Mac Book Pro since purchase. What would cause this?

I fixed it myself. I accidently deleted part of the original download of firefox. I did not uninstall all of it. Then I tried to uninstall another portion of it and it would not let me. So I went to my trash can lol and restored then uninstalled and am now reinstalling and it is working Yeah. I do not know how I uninstalled part of it and not the rest. See I thought I had downloaded the wrong firefox because it was acting up on me and the website did not look right it said something about maintenance file Anyway it is fixed. Yippeee

Are you clicking "Run" or "Save"? Try clicking "Save" then running the downloaded file.

  • Suddenly can't download photos anymore -- get error message

    I have iphoto4
i just bought a new canon 720 IS camera. I took four photos on the card that came with the camera and downloaded them fine through iphoto
i put in a new SanDisk 2 gig card. now when i go to the download the photos, i get an error message for each photo. the camera shows up on iphoto and the it displays the right number of photos to be downloaded, but it won't download them
    yes, i reformatted the card
any ideas of why i can't use iphoto now?

    Hi there!
Go back and use the other card and see if it works... if it does
If it does, it could be 1 of 2 things, your new card is corrupted somehow or your version of iPhoto my not recognize 2G cards... make sure you format disk, have settings on your camera correct... if it still doesn't work, use Applictions > Image Capture directly, (you need to configure Image Capture Preferences not to open any software when camera is connected) download images into a folder and just drag folder to iPhoto icon and it should import... if Image Capture cannot import images then I would have to bet it's your new card...
    Good luck, Rick

  • Can't download songs/podcasts,  -69 error message

I bought a song last week from the iTunes Store, and the download failed, saying:
"There was a problem downloading (song). An unknown error occurred (-69).
Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again."
Since it first happened I cannot download any podcasts, getting the same (err = -69) error message...
I've emailed apple, followed their tips and still no solution, and the follow up email basically said "chin up, and good luck"...
Can any of you guys help me!?

Can you download anything - like the free single of the week?
    Check your internet settings.
Control Panel – Internet Options – Advanced
Check SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0
Uncheck “Check for server certificate revocation (requires restart)”
    Click okay
Many computers come pre-installed with Norton software (HP & Dell for example). If you have ever had any Norton/Symantec products on your computer they could still be blocking access to the store.

  • TS3694 Error message in App Store saying "Can not connect to iTunes Store"?

Just started using my iPad 3 that I just recieved for my birthday a few days ago. Last night went to download a new App from the App store, which was free. After hitting the "free" button and continuing on and hitting the "download App" button I received an error message saying "Can Not connect to iTunes Store" and the word "OK" under that to make it go away. I continued on with other games to see if it was just an issue with that one but no matter what i hit it says that same error message. I spent hours on the phone with Apple Support only to have the gentlemen have me save everything on my iPad onto my iTunes on my PC and then start to Restore to Factory setting and then was told if had any issues to call them back. I left the room for about 5 min. only to come back to have an error message saying "The ipad could not be restored, an unknown error occurred (3014). I was just wondering if anyone else is having any issues similiar to mine. Please advise. My next step is to call back up and ask to speak to a Support Specialist the gentlemen said..once it goes to the "restore" point regular tech support can not help he explained.. Just frustrated after spending over 1 1/2 hrs on the phone to have gotten nowhere and now have to call back and start again with something brand new.. I just think i got a lemon!!

This what Apple's iTunes specific error codes support article says about that particular error.
Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network.

There seems to be a current issue for a small number of people trying to download the LPX app (or any other large app for that matter) from the Mac App store...
Most people have found that trying it a day or so later then works..
However, check out these tips first.... in case it's not related to the issue i just metioned...
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6422
Also try signing out of the Mac App Store... restart your Mac and the sign back in again (Sign out and in can be found under the Mac App Store menu item : Store) This will sometimes fix the issue too...
..and if all else fails.. Contact Apple directly for assistance with this problem.

  • Error Message In App Store?(Please Help)

So I just bought a brand new 2012 Macbook Pro retina display which by the way I love, but every time I go to the app store it keeps saying I have 2 updates but then when I go to update them it keeps giving me these error messages and wont let me update them??? Can someone please offer me suggestions or some solutions? Any help is greatly appreciated.
"You have updates available for other accounts."
"To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it."

The App Store is tied to the Apple ID account that you used when you originally purchased your machine and registered it. It sounds as if you created a new Apple ID? If so, you need to use the original.
See this page - http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/ - for checking your Apple ID, any multiple accounts you may have, etc.
    Good luck,
