  • Download Oracle EE for Linux

I am trying to download Oracle EE for Linux and I am getting only 3MB file. I guess it supposed to be 168 MB. Anybody is having any suggestion?. Appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

The only solution that works for me anymore is wget. I start by trying to download it through Netscape in order to get the URL for the download and then use wget. It includes arguments to specify a user ID and password so that Oracle's server can authenticate you and it has the capability of resuming a download if it gets interrupted. Otherwise, buy a CD pack from the Oracle store. It only costs about $50 and includes a lot more than you can download.

  • Problems downloading Oracle 8i for Linux

I'm having troubles in downloading Oracle 8i for Linux (Red Hat 6.2).
I'm using GetRight for the 280 MB of the download. It get connected and logged , but when it try to retrieve the file, no response from the server. It seems as a lack of capacity of the ftp server.
Does anybody know if there is a mirror site of Oracle? Or any other solution?
    Thanks

  • Oracle 9i for Linux, disk 2, download fails

Dear Oracle, can you please split up 9i to smaller pieces say
200 Meg each. This should reduce the failure rate. Just take
the cpio.gz file and use the split(1) command like this
    split -b 200m Linux9i_Disk2.cpio.gz
My several attempts to download disk2 (about 700 meg) keeps
failing. I'm behind a DSL link and something between my box
and Oracle box gives up. I have downloaded Disk1 and Disk3, but
for some reason Disk2 keeps failing. Somebody is timing out or
reaching some buffer limit. Note that Disk2 is the largest.
In my case it only downloads about 400 Meg of it.
    - Server name = oracle 9i Database
    - Filename = Linux9i_Disk2.cpio.gz

    - Browser + Version = Netscape 4.7
    - O/S + Version = Linux RedHat 7.2
    - Error Msg = Installation fails, connection drops

Did you carefully go through all pre-req steps for install?
Oracle needs some "compatibility libraries" as well (compat-lib*). Here are packages for AS 10g, most or all of which apply to Database too.
    Checking operating system packages: gcc-3.2.3-20,compat-gcc-7.3-2.96.122,compat-gcc-c++-7.3-2.96.122,compat-libstdc++-7.3-2.96.122,compat-libstdc++-devel-7.3-2.96.122,setarch-1.3-1,pdksh-5.2.14,sysstat-4.0.7,gnome-libs-1.4.1.2.90-34.1,libstdc++-3.2.3,compat-libstdc++-devel-7.3-2.96.122,compat-glibc-7.x-2.2.4.32.5
When required packages are in place, there's another error lurking, related to __libc_wait symbol.
runInstaller "boots" OUI, which includes running a JRE from tmp. This JRE (build 02) is broken, but you can setup to run another one via oraparam.ini and JRE_LOCATION. Download build 10 from Sun (google "jre 1.3.1 download").

  • Where can I download Tuxedo 10gR3 for Linux ?

As stated above I'm trying to download Tuxedo 10gR3 for Linux but can only find the latest supported versions. Any idea where I can get a copy ?
    Chris

    Hi  Chris,
I believe for older versions of Tuxedo you need to contact Oracle via My Oracle Support (MOS) and request the kit.  You will need to let them know what word size you need, i.e., 32 bit or 64 bit.

  • Oracle 10g for Linux x86_64 download problem

    Hi all!
Due to security restrictions in our company, I can't download these two files from download.oracle.com - this
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/linux/oracle10g/10201/10201_database_linux_x86_64.cpio.gz
    and this -
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/linux/oracle10g/10201/10201_companion_linux_x86_64.cpio.gz
because they have .gz extension. Has anyone have got theirs, - would you be so kind to rename files to .zip and share for two-three days till I download theirs to my desktop?
    Thanks in advance.
    Sincerely yours,
    Maksym.
    P.S. Sorry for my English.

I think the user community can't help you, the only guess I have is address this issue to the OTN Members Services forum:

With the Nanos, you should have no problem lending them loaded with audiobooks from Librivox, etc.
As for the iPod Touches, I'm not sure the question is whether you should allow patrons to set up the device for personal accounts, but whether you can prevent them from doing so. Prepare to to a factory restore every time one is returned.

NO, it will not work. You cannot even install since the installer
for Solaris is a Solaris binary and some windows exe also does
not work. I guess somebody has to write a better bootstrap proggy
    first...
I wonder why they did it that way...
