Can't download purchased music from iTunes from an authorized Mac

I went from a PC to a MacBook Pro in September. When I try to play a particular album, it's got that exclamation point after all the songs on it. After doing a lot of research, I think this happened when I was still using my PC. So what I moved to my Mac didn't include this album (and lots of other songs, but this was a fairly recent purchase on my PC). And my backups to Mozy don't have the missing music either. When I go to Purchased in Store, the downloaded is greyed out and I can't download it again to my Mac. My Mac is authorized as one of the 5 allowed. This album is on my iPad, but I've looked everywhere and can't figure out how to sync my iPad to my MacBook as opposed to Mac to iPad. Any suggestions? I'm pretty frustrated. I have lots of missing songs and from looking for my answer here, I see it's a common problem. But I should be able to download it again to my Mac if it's authorized, right? Thanks!

Bumping for a reply.  Any help would be appreciated.

When I purchase music through iTunes from my MacBook Pro, my iPhone 4 iTunes app cannot detect those purchase to allow them to download to my phone. If I open up the iTunes app and select "purchased > music > not on this iphone" it tells me "All of your available music has been downloaded to this device." However, my purchases are not yet downloaded to the iphone and not available to download. If I go to "purchased > music > all > recent purchases" it will show me the purchases that were most recent the last time I synced my phone, but not the purchases since then.
Any thoughts on how I can remedy this and make all of my purchased music available on my phone without requiring syncing?

So I have been searching the iStore for Airplay and I find lots of information about what it is, but nothing about how much it costs, how/where to buy it, etc.?
Fortunately, AirPlay does not cost anything as it is a streaming protocol used by Apple. Currently, the AirPort Express and Apple TV are AirPlay-ready. A number of other companies, like JBL, iHome, Denon and Klipsch are also rumored to be working on AirPlay versions of their products.
Your other option would be to get an AirPort Express and connect it to your Onkyo analog or optical digital audio input and stream from iTunes that way. I currently do this with my 10+ year old Harmon Kardon HT receiver.

  • Can't download purchased music to video iPod

I can't download purchased music and videos to my new 30GB video iPod.
When I try to copy videos or purchased I get an error "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close" and iTunes quits after I close the dialog.
I ran the iPod Updater 2006-01-10 and Restored my iPod. I can download mp3s and a video I created in QT Pro but not purchased music or videos.
I uninstalled all previous iPodSetup installations, iTunes, QuickTime, rebooted and deleted the iTunes prefs file at:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info\SC Info.sidb
I reinstalled iPod Updater 2006-01-10 and iTunes 6.0.2 and rebooted.
    The problem remains.

  • I can't download purchased music from iTunes to my PC

All of my music is gone from my PC.  I recently did an iPad backup, and for whatever reason, the music is gone from the PC.
The music is still accessible on my iPad.
In the iTunes store, when I go to Purchased Music and click on the All tab, all of the songs I have purchased are there, but there isn't a cloud download button available for the songs.
How do I get the songs back on my PC?

  • Can only see "purchased" music in iTunes

The rest of my music collection is visible on my iPod, but I can only access "purchased" from my laptop.  So, when I search for a song in my library, it fails to appear unless I have bought the song from Apple.  What happened to the music I imported?

Are you in the USA?  Currently you can only re-download movies in the USA and not even all of those (studio dependent).
Before deleting duplicates I would make sure it isn't just two links pointing to the same file.  If it is, delete the link but not the file (especially if you cannot download it again).  In general you need to exercise caution when dealing with duplicates because some are not really.

  • Can't download purchased movies to itunes on PC

Bought 3 movies in itunes (v 11,0,2,25) on my PC Windows 7 but can't download to itunes library on my PC. Have bought a couple dozen before without a problem. The message I get "There was a problem downloading. Part of the file seems to be corrupted. Check for Available Downloads from the Store Menu". When I go to Store menu and check for available download, it starts to download each one of them and each one ends without the download complete. I did download one of the movies to my iphone without a problem.

Go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go through all the tabs to download again for free

  • Can't download purchased music on iphone 5

I recently downloaded some albums onto my PC and when I go on my phone to download them to my iphone 5 all it shows is a purchased(faded) and does nothing when I push the button to download the album to my phone.  How can I get the purchased albums onto my iphone without having to sync my music as I the new computer i'm using doesn't have any of the music and I will lose it all.

    In iTunes app:
More tab on bottom - Purchased - Music - Not on This iPhone
You will need to be on wifi unless you have Use Cellular Data selected under iTunes & App Stores in Settings.

  • I want to put music on my iPhone 4, but am not able to because I can not download the version of iTunes required because my mac computer is too old.

Am just having troubles in adding music to my new phone in that when I connect it to my computer it says that the phone requires the new version of iTunes being 10.5, but when I go to download this for my mac computer it says that this version of iTunes requires a different mac, meaning that my computer is too old.  So I am just wondering how I can get music onto my phone?!

You will have to upgrade your operating system version and possibly your whole computer.  We cannot provide more information easily until we know more about your system.
Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
Apple does tell you about required equipment for the iPhone -- in 8 point medium gray type on a light gray box.   The Store associates kind of automatically assume everybody is running a new model computer and the one I met when we bought our iPhone had never seen a pre-2008 Mac and was somewhat puzzled why anybody would own such an antique.

  • Can't download purchased music.

I purchased an album a few days ago and am unable to download the songs. I get an error that reads "There was a problem downloading. An unknown error occurred(-50). Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again."
    Network is active.
Checked that properties for itunes are set to enable my downloading purchsed music (and I have done it hudreds of times before).
Even moved the whole library as that was recommended on one apple page.
E-mailed Apple support and have not received a response. Surprising as I won't purchase more music until I get this resolved.
    Help!
    thanks

I´ve got exactly the same problem as Adrian. Suprised that iTunes Musicstore doesn´t respond to this problem. Is this a common problem? Anyone knows what to do?
    Many thanks!

  • Trouble downloading purchased music into iTunes library

I am trying to download my recently purchased music into my iTunes library, but I am continuously getting a "Error 8003" message telling me to check and make sure the connection to the network is active, even though it clearly is. Any solutions?

    Yes.
It appears in the purchased section of iTunes, but not in the music section.
It does exist in the iTunes folder
    /Users/boccio/Musics/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/Compilations/.....
I just want to know how to get it to appear with all my other music in the "music" tab
    of iTunes.

Can he still use his apple I'd? I'm new to this....
FYI I have iPhone 5 and windows vista my roomate has iPhone 4 and a macbook

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unfortunately, if Apple simply allowed people to log into different accounts and download content, everyone would be using everyone could share everyone else's content and bypass the need to purchase anything. To protect against this, they limit you to logging into a new account to once every 90 days.
If two or more of you, have different accounts and use only one computer, you should each have your own user account on the computer, to avoid the need to log in and out of iTunes.
