Can't download purchased song

I purchased one single song and get an error msg -3259 saying it can't download, the network connection timed out. I've tried upgrading my Itunes, restarting my Itunes, and have checked my internet connection making sure it is active at the time of download. The Apple help e-mailed me and said it might have something to do with my McAfee program but my subscription has ended. I have never had trouble downloading a song for this long (been trying for 4 days).

    Hi, Lionnette.
I have experienced the exact same issue this week for a Pre-order album as well.  I would recommend canceling the Pre-order and download it again as it most likely has not been charged.  This article will walk you though the process.

  • Can't download purchased songs

I bought an album from the Nokia music store and some of the tracks downloaded without a problem. The others are still on my Downloads list as "pending," but won't download. When I went back to the store and viewed the album, the downloaded songs appeared with a "listen" option, and the "pending" songs showed up with a price as if I hadn't bought them. Anyone else having the same problem?

    Hi Joe_D,
    Welcome to the forum!
For which phone model is this? Have you been charged for the song downloads that didn't go through? You can check it by logging into music.nokia.com using a PC, and then go to the Purchase history page.
Have you also tried to redownload the songs that didn't go through? Make sure that the WiFi or mobile data connection is stable when downloading the songs. Depending on your phone model, try also to log out of your Nokia account, and then sign back into it. If you're using a Lumia WP8, just go to Settings > Nokia account > More (...) > Delete to remove your exisiting account. After that, set up the same Nokia account on your phone.
Hope to hear feedback from you soon.

  • Can't download purchased songs from itunes store.

I recently had my laptop and itouch stolen. I now have a new laptop and itouch and would like to download the already purchased songs from the itunes store onto my new laptop. The itunes store has the songs in my purchase history but I can't find the option to download them again. I tried buying a song again to see if it would state that I had already purchased the song and that I could download it for free. But it only asked me if I would "like to buy it again". Surely their must be a way to download the songs again onto my new laptop. Any help would be great.

Was your backup copy stolen as well?
If so, you can try e-mailing itunes support to see if they will make an exception, although they are under no obligation to do so.

  • Can't download purchased songs from Icloud?

Ok, I'm confused.  I signed up for Match and have my music in the cloud.  I have a bunch of songs I purchased via Itunes that are still copy protected (which is confusing because I paid for Itunes Plus and thought that removed copy protection).  Anyway, I'd like to remove the protection so I can sync to my Android phone.  I 'thought' I could delete from Itunes library, redownload from the cloud and copy protection would be removed.  That doesn't work for songs that have a status of 'purchased'.  If I delete them from the Itunes library - they're gone.  Obviously I'm not understanding something.
I went round and round with Apple Support and after 8 or 10 emails back and forth I just was not able to get anyone to help.  They kept thinking I was missing music and wanted to redownload, no matter how many times I tried to explain that I just wanted to redownload non-copy protected songs.
Any advice anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Any content that is purchased through the same account as you have used to subscribe to iTunes Match is eligable for iTunes Match, are you sure these items you are having issues with aren't purchased from another account.

  • Can't download purchased song from iTunes

I tried to play a song on iTunes, but it says I have to locate it.  I accidentally deleted it and emptied the trash (i know, genius), and when I try to download it again from the store, it wont let me.  Instead of a "download" button it's a "play" button.

The song shows up in my itunes library as if it's already downloaded.  When i show the songs on the cloud, all that shows up is the U2 album.

  • I can not download 19 songs that I recently downloaded it is telling me that my device is not authorized.  I have had this nano for many years and never had a problem downloading songs until now. I have even went as far as to restore the nano and it still

I can not download 19 songs that I recently purchased on my laptop.  I am getting the message that my Nano is not an authorized device.  Even though I have had it for years and it has many songs downloaded from my laptop.  I even decided to do the restore and it is still saying that the 19 songs can not be downloaded to my nano.  I did recently upgrade my window's 7 version.  Maybe this has created the problem.

Yes, the upgrade is the likely cause.
First you should try to deauthorize your computer/iTunes library before attempting to authorize it again.  To do this, click the Store drop down menu in iTunes and choose Deauthorize this Computer.  Then enter in your iTunes account credentials.
When it has finished, choose Store -> Authorize this Computer and again enter in your Apple ID account credentials.
Finally, try resyncing your Nano to see if that makes a difference.

  • How can i download purchases when 'this computer is already associated with an apple iD'

This has happened many times when using iTunes.
My iTunes is authorised with this computer, and i can make purchases off the iMac I'm using and
have the music be in my iTunes library.
BUT, I also have an iPad, and I've downloaded a few songs off iTunes on my iPad, and I'm having trouble
    re-downloading them to my Mac.
I went into my user>purchases>download all
but it came up with a notice saying:
'This computer is already associated with an apple ID,
You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days.
You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 64 days.'
Please help? Ive seen this notice before, and I think i just hit 'Okay' but I can't download my songs to my mac now.
    Thanks a lot xx

  • Automatic Downloads and Strange Error Message: "You can auto-download purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days"

    Hi gang-
Yesterday I noticed that iTunes on my iMac had not auto-downloaded several new songs that I had recently purchased on my iPhone.    In iTunes Preferences, under Store -> Automatic Downloads, I always have Music selected so all songs purchased from any device using my Apple ID normally download automatically.
To troubleshoot this, I double-checked my Preferences and sure enough, Music was de-selected under Automatic Downloads.   I then Selected it and clicked OK.   Here's where it gets weird and I get this error message:
This computer is already associated with an Apple ID.  You can auto-download purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 84 days.
I read and re-read this message and none of it seems to apply to me.   I have only one Apple ID.   I am currently logged in with iTunes to that one Apple ID.   All my iTunes Music ever has been purchased with that one Apple ID.   I am not trying to associate this computer or any other with a different Apple ID.
I logged iTunes out and then back in again and tried all the above- but same error message.
So, as it is now, I am unable to turn on Automatic Downloads in iTunes.
Anyone know what the heck is going on?
    Thanks!
    Dave

    Hey gang-
Okay, this gets more and more bizarre.   I sent a support email to Apple and basically they said  "...it seems that someone else associated your Mac with their Apple ID. That's the reason your purchases won't download."
Yikes!   My wife and I live alone- and we have exactly one and only one Apple ID.    Would somebody have needed physical access to my iMac to do that?
Support then said "You can view which devices or computers are currently associated, remove unused devices or computers, and see how long before they can be associated with a different Apple ID from the Account Information page in iTunes on your computer."
Okay- so I logged into My Account in iTunes.   On the list of associated devices, my own iMac is NOT on that list.   But I am logged in under the same Apple ID I've had for years on that iMac.
So my big question right now is...if my iMac (that I've owned for 5 years) has somehow been dis-associated from my Apple ID, how do I find out what Apple ID it is associated with?
Thanks gang for trying to help me unravel a mystery.
    Dave
PS- Here's an Apple Tech article on iTunes associations, but it doesn't really go beyond what we've discussed above:

  • How many times can you download a song on iTunes and have it count?

I'm wondering. Someone I like have released a song on iTunes and I wanna support them and I dont mind spending a few bucks on them.
So how many times can I download a song and still have it count as an individual purchase? And what about gifting?
    thanks.
    -andy.

As Polydorus said, get only one download per purchase for anything you buy from the iTunes Store other than iOS apps or iBooks. I'm not sure what you mean by "individual purchase" or what you are asking in reference to gifting.
    Regards.

  • Won't let me download purchased songs (error 8517), Won't let me download purchased songs (error 8517)

There's about 25 or so songs that I have purchased but can't download. Whenever I click on Downloads, It says there are 25 songs available for download, I click to download them and they all come up with an error. Someone suggested I go to Store --> Account --> and then click download purchased songs from there, if I do that in the library it seems to act like they're all about to download but none of them do. Anyone please help?

What happens when you try? Error message?
Is the iPod associated with your account?

  • Error message when trying to download purchased songs

I purchased some albums on my ipad that synced to my iphone. I'm now trying to download my purchases to my library stored on my PC, but I'm getting an error/warning message along the lines of:
"You can download past purchases for up to 90 days.....You cannot assign another apple id to this computer for the next 30 days".
Does anyone have any ideas? I did have to sign my wife out of itunes before i signed in to download my songs so i assuming its something to do with that.

When trying to download purchased songs on ITunes, it
gives an error message that the network connection
timed out. also gives this error message when I try
to download ITunes software. Can anyone help with
    this error? Thanks
I am having the same problem. (err = -3259) and it's not listed in any of the error codes in Apple Support. Weird. Why have an error code and no reference for it.
First it happened when I tried to download a movie and I kept "checking for purchases" - didn't work - checked all my ad filters, privacy filters, firewall settings - didn't work. Then I forgot for a day, went back and it worked. Now I have three episodes of a TV show that will not download and I am getting the same error message. This time it has been a few days though...Someone who knows - Please HELP!!
