Can't download purchases, iTunes wrongly says "network connection timed out"

Apple surely charged my account the $19.99 for my latest HD movie purchase, but I haven't been able to download it, or the 6 other files I have pending!
Connection works perfectly, I've restarted cpu several times, deactivated firewall, deleted & reinstalled iTunes, deleted tmp files, nothing works!! I've been at this for 3 days to no avail, Please HELP!!

I've tried that before and just tried it one more time before replying to you... nada! I was hoping it was just a glitch and it would fix itself, but after 3 days I'm just annoyed. Like I said, I've even deleted iTunes and reinstalled it, that did nothing either :/

When you get anything that says your network connection timed out it either means you lost internet connection or there is something blocking the connection between the computer and the servers that it is trying to connect to.
If you have a solid internet connection and can browse to websites fine it's either an anti-virus program or a firewall on the computer OR a firewall in the router's settings that you use to connect to the internet.
Reconfigure any security software to allow Apple's servers to pass.
Useful information for configuring your security software:
IMPORTANT: iTunes must be allowed to contact Apple using the following ports and servers:
          ▪          port 80
          ▪          port 443
          ▪          phobos.apple.com, deimos3.apple.com, albert.apple.com, gs.apple.com, itunes.apple.com, ax.itunes.apple.com, ax.init.itunes.apple.com, ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net
iTunes uses well known ports and these ports may need to be opened for iTunes: 80, 443, 3689, 5297, 5298, 5353, 8000-8999, and 42000-42999.
iTunes also contacts VeriSign servers during an iPhone restore and activation:
          ▪          evintl-ocsp.verisign.com
          ▪          evsecure-ocsp.verisign.com

Temporarily disable or uninstall your security software
If the current available version of your security software is incompatible with iTunes, you can disable the security software and test if it is the source of the issue. It might also be necessary to temporarily uninstall security software after making sure you can reinstall it and note any required licenses. A temporary deinstallation might be required because parts of some security software remain active in the background though they appear to be deactivated.
To reduce any security risks that security software is designed to prevent, consider making sure all files needed to reinstall it are available and disconnect network connections before uninstalling security software. Should this not be possible, such as if a download without active security software is required, that required step should be the only process completed without security software. For assistance in checking your configuration, disabling, or uninstalling your security software, please contact the manufacturer.
Once disabled or uninstalled, perform only the steps required to verify your issue has been resolved. Complete whatever update, restore, syncing, back up, activation, or other task you were troubleshooting. Once that task is complete, install and configure compatible security software to ensure your PC is protected.
If it isn't a program or software on the computer contact your Internet Service Provider and/or Router Company to configure or disable the firewall in the router settings.
To isolate the issue to this you can also try disconnecting the router and plugging your computer directly in to the modem but this does not help for troubleshooting time-out issues directly on any apple mobile devices only if you are syncing or going through iTunes on the computer.

After you have downloaded the update, attach your iPad to your computer, open iTunes and select your iPad in the devices list. Press & hold the Option/Alt key and click the Check for Update button. Browse to where you downloaded the update and Choose it. iTunes will handle the rest.

I've been trying for 4 days to download purchased media from iTunes and I keep getting this error message "The network connection timed out." I assure you my internet connection works perfectly.
Not sure if this is relevant, but this error spontaneously happened after my most recent purchase on the night of 2/10. I was able to download some iTunes extras right before I made the most recent HD movie purchase, and as soon as I tried to download that, nada!
Here's what I've already tried, but has NOT worked:
-re-opening iTunes
-restarting computer (several times)
-deleting tmp files
-disabling antivirus ware & firewalls
-deleting & re-installing iTunes
If anyone has any other ideas to help me out, I'm all ears!

Can't download software updates in iTunes - error message "network connection timed out"

I'm unable to download software updates for my iTouch 4.1 in iTunes. I have iTunes version 10.5, Windows 7. i've tried numerous times in the past and always get the same error message. I'm now experiencing problems with some of my apps. and I've attempted 4 times in the past 2 days to upload version 5.0. It goes thru the whole download (761.61 MB), says "processing file", then closes out and I get the following message:
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod "xxxxx's iPod". The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are current and your network connection is active or try again later. Err = .3529."
I ran diagnostics and it said everything was fine.
Also not all the apps. on my iTouch are in my iTunes library even though I've synced my iTouch numerous times since I've purchased the apps. with my iTouch. All the apps on my 2nd screen are on iTunes, but none of the apps. on my 3rd screen of my iTouch are in iTunes.

Did you check your security software settings? Troubleshooting security software issues
iTunes has to be able to contact Apple during the download of the software and the update process.

Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.

Have been using Contribute 6.5, and earlier versions, for years with Hostway without any problems. All of a sudden I cannot create a connection to our website. Tried to chat with Adobe a twice now and got no help. Yesterday they started a chat with me, then ended the session without any communication! My problem has been going on for several weeks now. I uninstalled Contribute, downloaded and installed again, but it did not help. Hostway had me connect with Zilla and everything worked fine. So, they say the problem is with Adobe. Can you please try using any other Internet connection outside your company's network and see if it is working? Alternatively, Can you please try the below settings from the Advanced... Menu while creating the connection using FTP details and try to create the connection again:

Try temporarily disabling any firewalls, antivirus and antispyware utilities you may have running on your computer. Those utilities are often reported as being culprits in this problem.
