Can't download the free song of the week
keep getting this:
400 Invalid path /mail/message/href was requested
Just started in the last couple of weeks - before that it worked everytime.

The short answer is no.
Unless you are selling the app via the Enterprise Deployment option, everyone has to download via their own iTunes account ID. Yes, iTunes can be used by multiple IDs but this makes it very messy to resolve later.
What kind of app is this? Which Expo? If an Expo for selling apps has poor Internet connection I would question the validity of using such an expo in the first place. -
Can the free songs of the week be found on the wifi store?
I am having trouble finding the free songs through the wifi store. Are they not directly available on the touch?
It's not featured or anything like in iTunes, but you can find the free song by searching for it.

I deleted the Free song of the week, but it keeps coming back!
I downloaded a free song, decided I didn't want it and deleted. But with iCloud, it keeps coming back. It messes with my smart playlists to have this song keep popping up. Any way to fix without turning off auto downloads? Thanks
You must have an iCloud account, and on the iPhone gone to Settings > iCloud and turned ON Find My Phone. Then login to the iCloud account, click Find My Phone and IF the iPhone is turned on and connected to the internet it will show up.
If any one of those steps is missing it will not show up.
If you get a message that you have not registered it with iCloud, then you did not turn on Find My Phone on the iPhone.
There is no other way of trackng the device. -

The free song option went away with the new year. Has it moved or is it gone?
Probably gone, although Apple doesn't tend to explain to anyone what they're doing at any given moment, so who knows.

You can install a trial once on the same computer. After the trial period ends, you'll need a serial number (in other words, a purchased product) to continue using it on the same computer.

Yes, it's a separate store. Things available in one store and not another could come down to licensing or there may be other reasons. But at the end of the day you do need an US account, and to sign up you need a US address.

Smart Playlist JUST for 'Free Songs of the Week?'
I would like to create a Smart playlist comprising exclusively the 'Free Songs of the Week' from the iTunes Store. So when I get the weekly 'Free Song,' it goes right into that list. But I need some sort of 'unique identifier' that allows this to happen, and I can't seem to find one. I go under all the 'View Options' and nothing seems to 'tag' these songs as unique, so I can't set up a Smart Playlist that includes just those songs.
Is there a way to do this?The iTunes Store doesn't tag the free tracks any differently from any other track that I can see, so I can think of no automatic way to put just the free tracks into a playlist. You could, though, put "free" or something similar in the Comments section when you download one of the free items, and then have a Smart Playlist that looked for "free" in the Comments. That's the only way I can think of to accomplish what you want. That wouldn't be any easier than just dragging the free tracks to a normal playlist, but would allow you to have future Smart Playlists that process the free tracks.

We're just regular users and don't pay your way, so we can't do something. What you need to do is make sure your AppleID is up and active. This entails having a positive balance on it or having enabled an accepted payment method. This is on a country-by-country basis. Acceptable payment methods in the USA are not the same as those acceptable in, say, India.
Until the AppleID is fully activated, you can't use it to download apps of any kind, free or not. And that's the only way the App Store is gonna give them up. -
Did they take out the free section, you know where they might offer a free episode/song/video/etc in one spot (or at least did they for Canada)? I can find the english song of the week (I used to enjoy browsing both the english and french), but that is it...
Nevermind. For some reason it loaded wrong/poorly/? It was back after I closed itunes down and re-opened it.

Before you can download free apps:
1. Make sure you are using IOS 7 (ignore)
2. Make sure your iPad is registered in My Support Profile.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
