Can´t download updates from Apple

Hey there,
I am having troubles to get any Apple updates for my devices.
iMac 27" late 2013
     Problems with: RAW-Compatibility Update
App-Store lists the update, but when I hit the button, the download starts very (extremely) slow and after a while just stops the whole process
MacBook Air 11" Mid 2012
     Problems with: OSx Yosemite
App-Store has the download available and in the downloads list. Same behaviour as above, the download starts very slow (around 120kb after 5Min) after a while the update just stops.
iPhone 6 (iOS 8.02)
     Problems with: iOS 8.1
Fresh device, delivered yesterday. First thing I was going for was to update iOS to apply my old phones backup.
When I start the Update process it just quits after a couple of minutes, saying update isn´t possible at the moment. I can´t see what happens since the dialog doesn't give further informations.
I am using FTH with 50M down, connection is working and I did a system test for my router - no problems here. (IPv6 connection)
I did a Game-Download from Steam for testing purposes - reaching full speed.
I downloaded Microsoft Excel for my iPhone6+ (other device as mentioned above) which did´t cause any problems as well.
I am only having troubles to receive/download system Updates
I hope you can see what I am trying to describe, since english is not my native language.
Does anyone have a suggestion, what could cause the problems and what I can do to solve them?
Thanks in advance

Hi...
You're English is perfect
Even though you tested the router, restart your internet modem and router then restart one of the Macs to test. If you can download updates there, then theoretically, it should work on all devices.

I have a imac g5. It's running off version 10.4.11. How do I update it to a higher version? Do I have to buy that software or can I download it from apple?

Does the computer's installed version of OS X (Tiger 10.4.11) have an install
+ restore DVD, or is that missing? The original disc set usually would include
the extra applications not found on a retail version OS X install DVD; and a
bonus is the original software kit included the version Apple Hardware Test
for your computer model. This also is not included in a retail OS X install DVD.
If you have your computer serial number and model information available,
and try calling Apple (main number, not local store) and ask to speak to an
Operating System Specialist, when you get someone matching that position
on the phone ask what they can do for you regarding a Replacement DVD
install disc for a system that can run in your computer.
If your computer shipped with a Tiger version, that would have been originally
on a grey-label DVD set include with the computer, with a part number on it.
A replacement may be harder to get, than say, a white label Replacement
DVD install disc for Leopard 10.5. There had been a white label non-retail
full install version of both Tiger and Leopard, available for a time from Apple
sales support main numbers (or applecare?) for a reasonable fee. Maybe still.
Perhaps if one kind of replacement system disc is not available, they may
have some other option at Apple. The main store number may not be the
correct place to ask, but they may be able to redirect you to an OS Specialist.
(in US 1-800-MY-APPLE is the main #. There is another number I don't recall.)
    Good luck & happy computing!

    Hello!
Boot Camp is always installed on your Mac, you don't have to install it seperately.

    Hi,
    Try the following
First of all, uninstall your current version of HP Support Assistant by using the Microsoft 'Fixit' on the following link - this is particularly useful in correcting issues that may prevent reinstallation on machines running a 64bit OS.
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
When this has completed, restart the notebook.
Next download and install the latest version of HP Support Assistant from the page on the link below - the download links are towards the bottom of the page.
    http://h18021.www1.hp.com/helpandsupport/hp-support-assistant.html
After the installation, restart the notebook again.

  • I can't download updates from the update option in PS CS 5.1.

I can't download updates from the update option in PS CS 5.1. Also having trouble installing the update directly from ADOBE. The program is crashing my system on a regular basis. Anybody got any ideas?

It might help if you were a bit more specific, e.g., ''I chose Help - Updates, and this happened, then that happened, then an error message that stated 'xxxxxx' was displayed''.
It could also help others help you if you'd describe your system - what kind of hardware, what operating system, etc.  One good way to do that is to choose Help - System Info in Photoshop, then copy and paste the info into a post here.

  • I have a question regarding loading Turbotax for mac on my brand new Imac.  Can I download it from Apple?  I do not have a CD/DVD drive.

I would like to use Turbotax for mac.  I am a new user and just bought my Imac desktop a few weeks ago.  Can I purchase and download the software from Apple?  I do not have an optical drive so I need to use the download method.

Thank you for your reply.  I may not have phrased my question correctly but what I was ondering is whether Apple sells this software download or whether it is only available thru Intuit.  I have tried severl other vendors (Micro Center, Costco, Bjs Wholesale) and none of them have it available for download.  Must I go thru Intuit only if I use this method?

  • Can't download Itunes from Apple Web site

When I click on download button, it goes right to the "thanks for downloading" splash page, and yet nothing has downloaded -- no download file box comes up, nothing. I managed to get the 7.1.2 .exe from another web site, but now I want to download the latest version, 7.2, but can't do it. I haven't had trouble downloading files from any other sourse -- only Apple. I tried turning all of the security features off, but that didn't work. any suggestions? thanks!

I had probs with 7.2. Reloaded 7.1 works fine. I think 7.2 needs some more work before it will work for me.

  • Can't download apps from Apple app store

When a user goes to download an app the app just sits at waiting/installing. Eventually it times out.  When I grep the access logs it shows the ipad bouncing from one apple server to another.   If I give the ipad a static ip address that goes around the ironport the app will install so I am pretty certain the problem on the WSA.  We have a S670 running a version of 7.7.

Ok so I opened a TAC case and all they could do is confirm it wasn't my wireless controller. I did however find out what was plaguing my network and hopefully this will help someone else. I found that there was a Mac OS X cache server on my network. For details on this see, http://www.nbalonso.com/os-x-server-caching/ Basically it registers with apple using our public IP and then any apple device on our network that try to download from apple from that same IP apple then points it back to the cache server on our network. The problem was that there were no routes back to that cache server as it was in someones lab. I was able to track down the server using a packet capture on my ASA to find out which device on my network was trying to reach lcdn-registration.apple.com/lcdn/register you can do an nslookup to see what the IP is, i don't know if it changes. Once I had the cache servers IP address I was able to trace the mac address back to the source and shutdown his network port. iOS downloads are now able to work again. The main problem was that iTunes, Mac, and even iOS 7 would try this but time out and then go download from apple anyways, iOS 8 however would never do get past looking for the cache server and the download would never start. Like I said I hope this helps someone else out there, apple implementation of a cache server is very poorly designed in my opinion if it can lead to this type of disruptive behavior.

  • Can't download updates from either Software Update or Apple Downloads

The update (whether of iTunes 8.2, Security Update 2009-002, or QuickTime) appears to be downloading completely but then I get a red exclamation mark, an "unspecified error" message, and a failure to install. I've run Disk Repair from Install disk, which says disk is fine, and have run extended Hardware Test from Install disk, which says computer is fine. Does anyone else have this problem? Please help! Thanks. -Elroc

*" When I went into Preferences, though, I noticed nearly twenty empty folders with nonsense names like v0ê)∂øˇ‘–†(A. Could that reflect a problem somewhere?"*
Yes it could. Delete any files like that. They could be old preference files from software you don't use anymore. Delete them and restart your Mac.
Don't see the Genius Bar just yet.
Check the hard disk for errors. I know you said you did this but make sure just in case.
Insert the installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger and later) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
If the hard disk appears to be ok... see if you can download and install the 10.4.11 combo update which contains fixes for 10.5.1 up to 10.4.11 available here.
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx10411comboupdat eintel.html
If that doesn't work, if it were me, I'd back up my important data and try and Archive and Install.
Instructions here. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1710 This does NOT erase the hard disk but restores your system software.

  • Download updates from apple downloads site

    Hello,
    this is my first try.
Does anyone knows how to download a software from the apple download site without the automatic OS version selection?
I try to download Safari 3.1 from my work computer with Windows XP so that I can update my girlfriend's MacBook that doesn't have an Internet connection. The problem is that when I start the download the site doesn't let me choose the OS Tiger version and allways downloads the Windows version.
    Can anyone help?

  • AOL Mail Client can't download pictures from Apple Mail?

    Hey gang-
My sister and her family use the current Windows AOL email client to send and receive email. I sent them some JPEGs using Apple Mail, and I selected "Send Windows Friendly Attachments" before composing the message. Anyhow, they can see the pictures in the AOL mail client, but they don't seem to be able to download the JPEGs to disk. They say they've never had this problem before, so I wonder if it's an issue with how Apple Mail sends the JPEGs?
I have no idea how the Windows AOL mail client works, but does anyone know of any general guidance I can give them?
    Thanks!
    Dave

    Dave,
Travis has captured all the facets of the problem. I will only add that the surest way to send to AOL is to use Plain Text. This has always been the advice with Mail (i.e., not use RTF to AOL recipients) but additional factors have been added by Mail 2.0. Whenever RTF is used, along with attachments, and there is furthermore a mixture of fonts utilized, Mail converts to use HTML, and changes the status of files attached, even for users other than AOL. The most common sources of mixed font usage are from a Signature, or from text included in replying, or forwarding.
When sending to AOL users, continue to use Windows Friendly, but also use Plain Text. If you do not wish to set Plain Text as the default in Compose, then on these messages, click on Format in the Menu Bar, and choose Make Plain Text on an individual message.
Let us know if problems persist, despite this method.

  • Can I Download Updates From A Different Computer?

The Internet connection here at the office is terrible. Whenever I have to upload or download large files, I do it from home.
I installed CS5 Master Collection a year ago, and I haven't been able to get any of the updates. (Every attempt to get the updates results in failure.)
Is there a way I can download the updates on my computer at home, bring the file(s) to work, and install them on my office computer? Will I have to dig up the serial number (it's been a year) or will it recognize that I already have the software installed on my computer. What do I download?
(I wish  this wasn't so much work.)

Sure...just click the downloads link at the top of the page and find the updates you need. Download them, burn them to a CD and run them when you get to work.

  • HT4059 Can't download IBooks from Apple iStore

When I located the free iBooks app there is no download button. I downloaded the free app from another iPad I have, but can't from this one. Any idea why the download button isn't available?

Are you looking in the Purchased tab in the App Store - that is where you can redownload the apps that you have purchased (including free apps). If it shows 'downloaded' against it in that tab then that implies that the app is on your iPad somewhere, if it has the cloud symbol against it then tapping that symbol should download it.
If it does say downloaded and you can't find i ton any of your iPad's homescreens or app folders then try a soft-reset and see if you can find it after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
