Can't drag/delete files from C Drive after moving them into the D Drive

Like many others, I have depleted my C Drive space and needed to move my iTunes folder into mt D Drive. I got these instructions from iTunes which tell me that after I have moved the files into the D Drive to find the old files in my C Drive and just drag them into the recycle bin. When I try that it tells me it can't be done because of copywrite protection issues. I need to free up that C Drive space by getting rid of those files. Can anyone help with this? I'd preferr an e-mailed answer if you could. Thanks.

What is the exact error message that you're getting?

i do not have a mac home pc. just a regular pc

I had the same problem after I gave my old iPad to my parents and tried to install Netflix. This is what you have to do:  Open iTunes on your computer, the one you sync your iPad to. Then go to iTunes Store and search for and download Netflix app. After you download it, if your iPad is set to download new purchases it may start downloading on your iPad. If so, tap and hold to delete the app (because it is trying to install the new version on the iPad) Next step, go to the App Store on your iPad and find Netflix and it should say install since you already purchased it on the computer. Tap to install, and it will say the version is not compatible, tap to download a previous version. Click that and it will install the older version!    One more thing, if and when you sync to your computer again it will say something like " Unable to install Netflix on your iPad" Just click the box to never remind you again, because it's trying to sync the newer Netflix app to your iPad, but it doesn't work so it displays the message. The old app will remain on the ipad. Hope this helps, good luck

  • I have macbook pro 13" I want to know how to copy files from my mac to the external Toshiba Hard Drive. I can't even delete files from my external hard drive. please help me my macbook HD is almost full and I have to copy my images to the Toshiba HD

I have macbook pro 13" I want to know how to copy files from my mac to the external Toshiba Hard Drive. I can't even delete files from my external hard drive. please help me my macbook HD is almost full and I have to copy my images to the Toshiba HD

To delete files from your external HDD, attach it to your MBP and drag the unwanted files to trash and then empty trash.
Then you select the files that you want to transfer by 'drag and drop' to the external HDD and trash the files on your MBP.
    Ciao.

Turns out the answer to that question changes if you ask it more than 4 times, so ask it again....
The answer depends on the type of video files you want to convert.  If they are DRM protected commercial videos, no help can be given here.  Google.

  • Can my macbook 4, 1 handle a 2tb hard drive if it fits into the hard drive bay?

Can my macbook 4, 1 handle a 2tb hard drive if it fits into the hard drive bay?
Does the hard drive brand matter as lon as the har drive fits in the slot?
I want to put a 2tb hard drive in my macbook 4, 1 but I am not sure if the hard drive will work.
Can my computer handle that big of a hard drive?

"If it fits" will be the limiting factor. The largest capacity that I know of that will fit is 1.5 TB.
OWC sold this 1 TB 12.5 mm WD hard disk a while ago that allegedly fit your MacBook4,1 so it stands to reason you won't be limited to a 9.5 mm dimension. The only 2 TB drives that I know of are 15 mm thick and will definitely not fit your MacBook. If and when you can find a 2 TB HDD in the required form factor it will work.

If your computer is on one minute before it freezes, than you have one minute to secure your serial number.
click the apple----->click about this Mac ------> click on version----> until you see the serial number.  You may have to do this a couple of times if it freezes before you have all the numbers.  A camera might help.
    Good Luck

  • My MacBook pro mid 2012 doesn't seem to have a "save as" function, so I can't seem to save multiple page pdf's together after moving thumbnails into the sidebar. It only saves the first page. I can't figure out the rename function either. Help?

My MacBook pro mid 2012 doesn't seem to have a "save as" function, so I can't seem to save multiple page pdf's together after moving thumbnails into the sidebar. It only saves the first page.
I do have a 2008 version of Microsoft Office installed to save money, but that shouldn't affect things. I can't figure out the "rename" function either. Help?

Oh, and I also reset my NVRAM, my computer hasn't frozen again yet, so I'm not sure if it has made a difference.

  • If I delete files from my computer, do they remain on the time capsule and how do I access them?

If I delete files from my computer's hard drive do they remain on time capsule? Where? How do I access them?

So long as the deleted files have been backed up to Time Machine then they will be there for you to acces in the following manner:
From the Time Machine icon in the Menu Bar click and hold to expose the drop-down menu. Select "Enter Time Machine". [The Time Machine volume must be attached to your Mac, of course, otherwise this procedure will not work.] Once you are in Time Machine go to the date when you remember the file being on your internal drive; you can also do a Search for the file name. Once the file has been located you highlight it and click "Replace" and the file will be replaced; if a file of the same name is in the exact same location you will be presented with the option to replace or keep both.

  • I can't send deleted files from i movie to the trash and delete them.

I can't delete files. I bought a Lacie big quadra 4T and allmy project are saved there (mode raid1). When I’m trying to delete files theydoesn’t go to the trash bin but they are not longer in I movie. Apparently  they are still in the hard drive using space. How can I delete them or send them to the trash bin of my Macbook Pro?

Okay I had the same problem but I figured it out.  When you go to choose file, all the links are greyed out.  Use two fingers simulatiously and click down on the file you want, then choose "quick look" from the option menu.  This will open a preview of your document and make the open button usable.  Close the preview, and then select the open button.
The site I was trying to use says it only supports IE, so maybe that is what causes the problem.
    Hope it works for you!

  • Why can't I delete files from networked computer?

I have my iMac G5 networked to a PC. Lately, when I try to delete PC files and directories from the Mac, I keep getting the error message:
"The operation cannot be complete because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items." It will not allow me to move files from the PC directories onto the Mac desktop either.
I have no problem in seeing all of the files from either computer. I can also delete Mac files while working at the PC. I have checked all connections and configurations. Is there anything special that I should check.
    Thanks
    Herschel

Are you using an Admin account to do these things? I get similar messages under those circumstances but when I use a regular account I can perform the edits (as long as I can see the content). I have no idea why this is so - but essentially you are using your OS X's server capabilities that are built into the non-server edition of OS X.

  • Can no longer delete files from Time Machine

My Gear icon in Time Machine that allowed me to delete all copies of a file, has disappeared -- as has the magnifying glass. Any one else lost this?

Go into View Menu in Finder and see if there is an option to Show Toolbar, if so click on it. If not click on Customize Toolbar and drag the default set into the toolbar.

  • Can't drag any files from iTunes

Suddenly, I can't drag any of the songs in my library in iTunes to my iPod, to other playlists, or to anywhere. When I try to click and drag, the file doesn't stick to the cursor. It just stays put. I am using the latest version of iTunes on the lastest system 10. Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    Sam

    Sounds like a permissions problem.

  • Cannot delete files from hard disk (after deleting from playlists)!

all of a sudden itunes stopped allowing me to automatically delete (with the warning) a downloaded podcast so I would have to go to the hard disk manually to delte the posdcast.
How do I get the system back to what it was where I delete a podcast and then get the warning and say ok to delete from hard disk?
    TIA!

    Hi Chris:
    2 part response:
I founf the problem--somehow my itunes folder was moved to a different part of my hard drive--once I moved it back I can delete.
I can delete as follows: when I right click and click on delete, I first delete the file from itunes library--then I get prompted if I want to delete from my hard disk by sending file to recycle bin--There is also a prompt if I do not want to see the warning--which I have on as a safety precaution. So I bet the default could remove from playlist and send file to recycle bin in one move.

  • I cannot copy files from CD's and DVD's to the hard drive

I am running a G5 with OS X 10.4.8. I cannor copy files from the CD's and DVD's in the DVD-ROM drive to the hard drive. However, I can copy files from the USB floppy drive to the hard drive with no problem. What happened? Is this just a glitch? Will the problem be fixed if I just restart my computer?

I just formatted my G5 tower, installed the 10.4.8 combo updater, and now my DVD drive will not let me copy files from a CD or DVD to my computer. I can read the files for the disk, I can choose "archive" and get them onto my computer that way (very time consuming - I have to copy ALL of my files back onto my HD), and I can burn disks. All I cannot do is drag files from the disks to my HD. When I try, I get a grey circle with a line through it, not the green + I should be getting.
I have tried: updating my DVD drivers, reinstalling the system (I'm on 10.4.0 now and it still doesn't work), and clearing the PRAM.
Judging by you having the same problem, this has to do with the 10.4.8 update. %#$&!
    HELP!!!
